This is not the largest Dick's Sporting Goods store but it does have a decent selection. I think what sets this location apart from others is the great customer service that they provide. On this most recent visit, I took my mom to get a pair of shoes for her Birthday. We walked in and to the back of the store to start looking at shows. Too many options, I mean where do we start?! Luckily, Lisa walked over to assist us. Mom explained to her what she was looking for, Lisa listened and was able to offer a few recommendations. Turns out the shoes with green color price tags are for high arch support, didn't know that. She highly recommended Brooks followed by Asics so we grabbed a pair of Brooks, my mom tried them on and loved them. Of course, I made her try on a few more options before making a decision but, in the end, this was the shoe that she decided to go with! On the way out, I picked Boyfriend up a State jacket on clearance and with an extra 25% off we got this for over half off. Also, checking out was a breeze. read more

If you need any kind of sporting goods item, chances are they will have it at Dick's. The store in Holly Springs is really convenient because they are basically the only one in town. Shoes, weight training supplies, camping gear, fishing, hunting, golf, baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, lacrosse, swimming, soccer, frisbee golf, ping pong, darts, corn-hole, etc. etc. they have it! One thing I noticed this store has a limited gear for is cycling/mountain-biking gear. If you get a Dick's card, you can get credits for your purchases and earn coupons (like $10 off a $50 purchase, or 20% off $100). It seems like they regularly mail out pretty decent coupons anyway quite a bit once you are on their mailing list. The coupons are important because Dick's items for the most part are fairly expensive, yet similarly priced compared to their competitors. Tip: Hit the Clearance racks, and you can save money on some great items such as my recent purchase of an Under Armor tank top for about $20 vs. normally $30 price, and a Nike one for $16 vs. $28. Plus I used a coupon and saved even more. These name brand sporting good items/apparel don't really seem to be available for less online like a lot of other retail items, so it makes sense to buy it in store, especially since you can try it on to make sure it fits just right. read more

So let me begin with all I did was come directly from another DSG store a half an hour away to purchase a different product first and purchased this product as well. Upon coming into this location the cashier Sandra greeted me, this is the only positive thing that Sandra did. I went to have them change the price on a shirt I had purchased from the other DSG store for my wife. The shirt was on your stores clearance rack. She looked at the merchandise and looked at the sticker and began to peel it off like I had put it there. Then said" this is not on sale it is a brand new item." To which I replied "I talked to the girl who was standing there in the other store while I was deciding to purchase it and had her scan it on her machine because there was no osz. Assess ther sticker on it for more off. She told me that the price marked was the lowest price." So Brenda responded "you'll have to go back there to the other store". So let me tell you how I felt as a customer in your store. Not only did she accuse me of putting a sticker on it. She also told me without saying it to go pound sand. She didn't believe me that I was wasting her time. So I immediately asked for a manger. When the manger came over Sandra again "says these are brand new they are not on clearance." To the manager in front of me again accusing me of something I did not do. To which I said "if you don't believe me have the other store pull the tapes." The manger at that time explained to me that the products go on clearance or sale whichever when the seasons change. The other store must have had this on clearance and not pulled it when the season changed. Which is suspect at best in my opinion. I could tell the mangers frustration with Sandra and the accusatory tone in which Sandra had said what she said. With the quickness the manager told Sandra to change the price and give me the lower price. I understand with it being Covid-19 and things may be being handled with suspicion but to outright accuse me of doing this is absolutely absurd. I think more training for your staff about customer service would be in order. Not to mention tone and body language to customers may be appropriate. Then Sandra says to me oh you used a gift card? I gave her the receipts that I had because the other store did not implement my triple rewards and returned it and rerang it up. With the rewam rds. So frustrated again she says the gift card isn't working do you have the original card? Like I didn't have it. So I swiped the card she gave me the receipts and I left. Not a pleasant experience at all. Not qualms with the manager, she did excellent. But the employee Sandra she needs HR classes in how to treat customers read more

i hate this place now. unfortunately besides DSW it's the only place you can buy decent running shoes unless you want to go to a boutique store like Shoes and brews. But NO more fishing stuff. No more Guns and ammo and hunting stuff. I hate this. Whatever is profitable. I will try to spend no money here or at FAS unless it's absolutely necessary. Worst customer service I have experienced at a retail store. They refused to accept a bike tube for exchange after I accidentally purchased the wrong type. I lost my wallet on the 4th, and it contained the receipt. After I explained this to the clerk, she didn't even try to help me out even though she rang the tube up and the price was shown. All she kept saying was that she would not help me without an ID. My ID was in my wallet, so at the time I had no ID. Then, I asked to speak with a manager, and Andrew, who I am assuming is the manager came over and showed no interest or care in my problem. His tactic was just to snottily repeat what the clerk said. I have spent plenty of money at this store and their approach to my problem was nothing else but horrible customer service. It was obvious they do not value a customer at all. There exchange policy is crap. My Kid got a bat for his birthday from his grandfather. It was too heavy. Went to exchange, still had on plastic wrap and price tag. Awesome service by the team at this location. I purchased a bike for my 11 year old son. They did an amazing job preparing the bike for us. They also fully explained the rules, regulations and safty aspects of riding a bike. I purchased a bike for my 8 year old son at a different bike store in Cary and was ripped off both in price and service. Dicks prices were very reasonable compared to the bike shop in Cary. Went into this store 3 employees looked at me in the eyes did not greet me nor ask if I needed any help and actually needed help finding an item. One employee looked at me rolled his eyes and kept walking in the other direction. Cashier acted like I was doing her a disservice purchasing from this location. Had to chase an employee down for help. Not that it matters but I'm a black man and didn't feel welcomed at all by the staff even attempted to make friendly conversation, was almost ushered to make my purchase and leave. Brought bike into store 1018 in Holly Springs on Monday for 2 tubes/tune up. Told rep I needed for the weekend since my wife just bought a baby seat for back for early Father's Day, and the 3 of us were going to the beach. Rep said no worries - not only would it be ready by weekend, he'd likely have done by EOD. Great. Called Tuesday and was put on hold for 20 mins. Hung up. Called Thursday am. Surely enough time has passed. Girl said all was set, just needed to adjust chain one final time. Said I'd be in in PM. She said would be ready. Go in. Notice bike still has flat tires. Assistant Manager shuffled thru disheveled papers, asking me to describe in detail the rep who took the bike (weird/awkward) as well as girl (said no girl would have spoken to me about a bike - odd) and ultimately told me girl I spoke to was talking about wrong bike (I had given name and make of bike on phone). Then said: "Didn't they tell you we have a 30 day wait on tune-ups?" - as if my fault for not knowing their inventory issues. Told him rep only noted that if parts were needed - we deemed they were not during drop-off. After 5 minutes with no solution, I asked if there was any chance of bike getting repaired for weekend. He said no. I asked if I should just take bike home un-repaired. He said yes. So I did. No apology, no anything. Front desk reps told me to take card of Manager, Brian, who was not on site. Took card but realized contact info was phone directly back to shop; and generic email. So called provided corporate number. Customer Support rep was very nice, and told me she emailed Brian with an URGENT note to contact me. That was 24 hours ago and still nothing. Hey Brian - here when you're ready. read more

It was a clean nice store, but the prices on ammo and firearms are high. Fuquay gun and gold has much lower prices if you are looking for anything firearm related. Otherwise they have a nice camping section and employees are very helpful. read more

The staff at this location are always friendly and willing to help. I always find myself in this store quite a bit when my wife is shopping at Michaels next door. Prices on outdoor/hunting/fishing equipment I find to be comparable to all other retailers and dicks often runs great promotional deals like BOGO on certain tackle brands etc regularly. I took a couple of my older reels in to have the line spooled on them and the fellow in the fishing section even cleaned the salt and sand from them and gave them a good oiling. My kids had done something to one of them and it did not reel very well but he tinkered on it and its like new again! Can always find some good clearance deals as well. Good selection of athletic footwear as well, though some cleats styles are more seasonal which is understandable so they will order what you need and have it shipped to your home at free shipping, my son got a color of cleats he had not seen before and was really happy about it. Their golf pros are very knowledgable as well and always give me advice on my subpar golf skills. Lol. read more

I would give this place a minus 5 stars if possible. Last night I ordered on-line a fitness tracker for my wife. She happily watched me click purchase. We were messaged that I would receive 3 emails. I received first one, and then another, both telling me everything was fine and the final email would arrive in 2 hours. This morning I awakened and check my email inbox. There was a letter informing me that my order was cancelled. I called the customer service department and was told "Sorry, we ran out" and that was that. I asked if they would offer the next more expensive one at the same discount percentage off and was told no (they were sold out of the less expensive model, so I was willing to move up in price for the same percentage off). I thought my solution was fair to both parties, but Dick's Sporting Goods does not seem to believe in fair play. A shame for a sporting goods purveyor. We will never, ever go back and we will encourage everyone we know to stay away from Dick's and buy from Amazon. read more
