This store is consistent with the Dick's brand. It was well organized. The store was easy to navigate and the associates were friendly and willing to help find items. Luckily you me, the item that I was hunting was on sale. It's located inside the mall so there are plenty of parking. Accessible parking and entrance. read more

I somehow loss the Vortex Drain Plug on my Yeti 125 - unfortunately I didn't realize this until we were about to start our holiday travel so it was too late to order a replacement from Amazon. Not needing the cooler until our return trip I decided to wait and make the purchase at our destination. After doing a quick search I found that Dick's stocks these so it seemed to be an easy in and out task. The store is located just outside the Prien Lake Mall so I knew before I went this could be challenging and the parking would be total chaos. Once I found a space that I figured wouldn't present any opportunities for the oblivious ones to ding my doors I maneuvered through the traffic on foot like I was playing a game of frogger. The inside of the store was a mess - total clutter and unorganized, I found the drain plugs easy enough then I had to face the checkout - as expected it was a nightmare - the open registers weren't lit up and all the customers were herded passed a series instant gratification type items meant to tempt us while we waited. I think I was number twenty in line for a single $9.99 item purchase - my turn blah blah blah rewards card, phone number, do I want to donate, do I want a gift card, am I interested in filling out a survey of my experience, yada yada yada geez how long can this type of retail survive. I'm so over the antiquated retail BS, close the doors and pass the overhead savings on to the customers these brick and mortar locations offer me nothing - next time I'll drive a wine cork in the hole to plug it... read more

New store in Lake Charles. Management came over from Academy Sports, so I'm told. They have a lot of outdoor sports stuff, with the exception of hunting, very sparse. Employees are not really helpful, they make you feel like you are disturbing them. Or maybe I just caught them on an off day. It happens to all of us. Connected right to Prien Lake Mall so you can continue shopping, eat or catch a movie. read more

Not much in stock for the local customers. The ball glove steamer stays broke for long periods of time. The hunting department is very low variety and poor service. Good location just not much else. read more

Jo A R. 08/29/14 I was very pleased with the employees. They were very nice and helpful. I ask one a question she could not answer but told me she would get someone to handle it and she did. The Manager came and handled it with a smile checked for what I wanted and went to get it in the back. The chairs I wanted were in the wrong price area so I wasn't going to buy them and he made me a deal I couldn't refuse after all the kind service I had just got. this was my first time in the store but it will not be the last I will shop this store again. I like the location and the friendly service I'll be back and tell friend and family. read more

Even if you do happen to find something you want, when you get ready to check out it is a nightmare. Usually there are three employees around the cash registers but they are always talking to each other trying to figure out what is wrong with something. They will stand there talking and just ignore the customers. Sometimes there are as many as ten people trying to check out and even if there are three employees standing there, only one will work one of the cash registers. I don't know why they even have all those cash registers. One employee was so bad one time I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said "I am the supervisor". I told him that was just sad that someone like him was considered supervisory material at that store. I left without getting what I had selected because he could not figure out how to run the cash register. read more

I was insulted today in your store due to the fact that I had a service dog by your security personnel. I spoke with the manager and his attitude was like no big deal. I informed him that due to his security people I would not be shopping his store anymore and his comment was no problem. I'm glad Dicks is so successful with sales that the are able to turn customers away. If you support or have a service dog I don't recommend going to Dick's in Lake Charles. read more

Store was very unprofessional. I purchased a canoe and had to rent a truck to pick it up when my husband arrived at the store they showed us our canoe and is was scratched up. They had another canoe but when they where carrying it the handle snapped off. I'm not sure if product was damaged on delivery to their warehouse or if they damaged it. I never received a phone call about canoe being damaged. Luckily the uhaul refunded out money for there rented truck. I will never purchase anything again from Dick's. read more
