This review is only in reference to the bike purchase and repair service! A couple months ago, I bought a bike for my teenage daughter and one particular staff person (Zach) was very helpful in letting us find the correct size bike. Fast forward to yesterday when I had to bring the same bike in for repairs (brought on by my daughter-not the bike's fault). Zach was now the one to fix the bike. Zach was great at both explaining what he was doing and taking the time to make sure it was done well. I had to leave the bike overnight but I got a call the next day with an explanation of what was completed as well as the cost. It was far less expensive than I was expecting. read more

My friend and I came in this evening for softball cleats. We both found exactly what we wanted very quickly. I was amazed at the prices. I got some really dope Nike cleats for $45 and my friends cleats were only $35. The man who goes to get your shoe sizes was always there when we needed him. Very slow in the shoe/sneaker department. Only one fellow working vs. about five customers vying for his attention. He did the best he could. But it was obvious he was not loving this job. He looked dazed. He kept having to go in the back to find The type of sneaker that was requested. Each time he returned to the selling floor, a different customer grabbed his attention quickly before he disappeared again. Freakin crazy! If it wasn't for a particular type of cleats I needed to purchase for my sporty daughter, I would have left the store in a minute. I've only been to the store once before about a year ago. I had the same experience last time as well - no assistance to be found. Had to hunt down the salesperson. Prices are not cheap either. I know they sell expensive brands and sports equipment can be pricey -- bigger the boy, more expensive toys! And boy do they have toys, all kinds. I don't know the difference between the various type of cleats. It would have been helpful for someone to explain the features to me so I would feel comfortable with my purchase. The salesman didn't have time to spend with any one customer to even start to explain. Made me feel like I was in Walmart, sort of, with price $$$$ being the exception. read more

The prices were half the price we found at 2 other "bike" stores. Driving on Transit these days, the first thing you notice is that there are so many Dicks! All you see on that road is Dicks. Well if you'd like to see some more Dicks, let me know. What I mean by that is, if you'd like to see the inside of this Dicks, I can show it to you. I'll give you the guided tour, because these guys are my favourite Dicks of all time. It's unlike me to give more than a 2 for a chain, much less more than a 3, but this store has been so friendly, had such good service, so helpful, and is always stocked with plenty of exactly what I need... so despite the high obnoxious prices, I'll give them a four. Besides, they actually seem to be a tiny bit cheaper than the other two Dick's, and I have no idea why. Thank you Dicks for the ankle brace, the compression shorts, the shoes, the swim cap, you name it. You rock. Your prices don't rock, but thanks to this store, I've been converted into a lover of Dicks. I love Dicks so much that I need Dicks right now actually, so I better go. read more

What can I say, Dick's is Dick's and if you're going to shop this place, here's one of three solid tips I have to share: Don't shop Dick's online while at work because some other dicks will appear on your monitor if you don't type their full name out correctly and you might get fired if they track your internet searches. Funny, not funny, eh, it's kinda funny cause it's true! Dick's is a chain sporting goods store with various locations throughout Buffalo that carry a decent selection of everything you need to live an active, healthy lifestyle. You'll find name brand gear like Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, etc. all nicely over priced but for someone like me, that's okay because I only wear Under Armour when I workout and I can only find what I'm looking for at Dick's. I do shop for name brands for certain things, in the name of quality of course and I also won't drive to the closest factory outlet mall (in Niagara Falls) for the discounted savings so Dick's it is! Hey! Get your mind out the gutter! My tips: Make sure you get their Score Club Rewards card. The rewards come in nicely with $5-$10 off here and there on your next purchases. Via email and in the mail they send you lots of coupons to entice you to come back. Speaking of coupons, if you forget to bring them, you can pay for your items and come back the next day or days later and bring the coupon and receipt in to still receive the discount. And, here's another tip you probably didn't know... If you buy a pair of sneakers from Dick's and you don't like them within a year of buying them you can return them used (yes used) and get a new pair (yes, a new pair)! Don't believe me? Ask! I was in shock myself when I was told by their staff. Things I don't like: Dick's is located in a very busy plaza, be careful driving through the parking lot, everyone's in a rush to go nowhere. Also, I feel like this location isn't very user friendly. I don't like the layout of the store, the displays are lacking, it's very inconsistent with the other locations and I have difficulty finding things quickly. I also have a hard time finding their floor staff to get some help. This location is smaller than the others and these are all reasons why, I prefer shopping at the Dick's location on Maple Road in Amherst. The Dick's in the Galleria Mall is my second fav location but I try to avoid it because I could do without the crowds of mall shoppers. That is all. Stop reading. Another large chain review. But sometimes you have to go to a chain to find what you are looking for. In this case, it was a specific item as a birthday gift for a young athletic boy. So off I went. Into the hinterland. Dicks is one of those places you can find most mainstream sporting things. Its pretty well organized and the staff can help you find it if you cannot. They are polite and helpful. The prices here seem reasonable, although, to be fair, I did not comparison shop on this one. Easy parking. One reason to love the suburbs. 3 stars - does what is expected and does it without issue. read more

Consistently poor customer service. Every couple of years I end up at Dick's wondering WHY did I give this place another chance?! Floor help is missing and checking out a nuisance. Self checkout would be more useful since employees are unempowered. Bait and switch is noticeable as in the $40 sneakers I went to purchase but rang up considerably more. The cashier then has an inane conversation using the shoulder button phone she's wearing with the dude in back who says he gave me the shoe I asked for. Um. No. You didn't. A short "he said, she said" ensued. The cashier didn't care. And it was really obvious. No. More. Dick's. For all the slick advertising Dick's does they ought to instead invest in customer service training instead of just get-you-in-the-door tactics and then barrage you with displays, leaving you wandering the aisles to fend for yourself. read more

This is a typical Dick's, with a wide array of sporting goods, coats, shoes, blankets, and more. I find the selection here to be slightly less that other locations, such as the galleria. I have some of their own brand blankets and socks, and find them to be very comfy! While their prices might be a little bit more, they have the things that other stores like Walmart and such may not. read more

This is favorite store. It's close by, convenient. I went there 2 times this week. 1st time was to get 2 pairs of sneaker. They don't have my size, so Steve, the sales, ordered them for me. He was really helpful n friendly. U can tell if someone is just being polite n get their job done. Not Steve, really nice guy. And today, Pam n Connor were helping my boys to get their ski helmets. 2 thumbs up for their service. read more

The sales people at this store are just too busy to actually help customers. I was going to buy a bunch of clothes (even though they were ALL way overpriced) but could not get ONE PERSON to actually help me find what I was looking for. Put back what I was going to buy and took my business to another store with good customer service. Will NEVER shop at Dick's ever again and would NOT recommend. read more

Horrible customer service in the sneaker dept. the little stoner could not find the size or model we asked for. Couldn't find us woman's Nike trainer in size 8. Awful. I suppose they think they deserve $15 per hour. Dicks would be better off letting customers sort through the back room themselves to find the shoes. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Dick's on Transit Road on 5/20/18 around 3 pm. We went right to the bikes and started pulling them off the racks and test them out. I knew what I wanted but had just a few questions. Rode several bikes around the store. Do you think EVEN ONE PERSON asked if they could help me? Nope. Not one. Retail stores complain about losing business to the internet and I wonder...how many people might come back if someone actually tried to help them??? As we left the store, there were 8-10 employees all at the front, talking. THAT is not customer service. Went to a competitor and spent $1200 on a bike and accessories. Your loss, Dick's. read more

Exceptionally friendly staff with excellent customer service!!! They did not just let me wander around , they asked if I needed help, woman at register let everyone know someone would be right with them- amazing! Opened another register because I was having trouble finding my rewards and it was taking too long. She found me coupons and was very kind and patient. The selection here is the best I've found. I'd drive up there to shop in a second versus staying in Southtowns just because of all of the above! read more
