My husband and I worked with Madelyn at Music City Law to update our estate plans. Madelyn…read morecontinues to be responsive via email and was patient with us and all of our questions throughout. Start to finish I want to say it was 3-4 weeks including renaming an out-of-state deed in addition to our properties in Tennessee. The first step is a consultation which took us maybe 45-min. We were given a questionnaire via email before that appointment so we were prepared. At our consultation we set a time to meet to sign documents approximately 3-weeks later. Amazing turnaround time! We paid for a portion of the amount due when we decided to proceed and paid the remainder at the second meeting. We received an emailed copy of our documents to review a week or so before signing and I found that helpful. Understand every word and don't be embarrassed to discuss sensitive issues/concerns. Madelyn had to explain to me a few legal terms used that I didn't quite understand and we discussed ways to avoid conflict when this estate is used. After signing documents you'll be given a folder with a checklist of tasks to complete the estate. It's straightforward and Madelyn continued to clarify any issues we stumbled upon. We did start to receive deeds in the mail within a few weeks in addition to scam that looked pretty legit but Madelyn helped us see through that. The office is easy to get to on 96 just East of Carothers and there's plenty of parking. We'll meet with MCL again every few years to keep things updated. It feels great knowing we've done all we can to help make things go smoothly.

I think I will be looking for another attorney after all. He's in cahoots with my brother who is a recipient of the trust and not the executor of the trust. I don't think that's legal. And charging me $300 for that. My mother would be ashamed of you. Justin!

This was the case recently with one of my buyer clients who found her dream home - a retro ranch in West Nashville. Her list-price offer was accepted and we got under contract, completing the inspection which was a breeze, and the buyer agreeing to take the house 'as-is' with no repairs and give the seller some time to move out. It all looked fine till three days before closing a discovery that there was a $10k lien on the title due to the seller's unpaid card debt, which can sometimes happen. Not sure of the reasons why but the seller dug heels in by not allowing the buyer the entitled final walkthrough and refused to cooperate as per the contract and close. The deal stalled in a deadlock my buyer who wanted to proceed and purchase the house - and an uncooperative seller who refused to budge. But thanks to real estate attorney super hero John Rochford on the buyer's team, the transaction untangled, and the seller and buyer closed according to plan. John saved the day big time, my buyer is delighted and I am very appreciative of the expertise of John and his wonderful team at Rochford Law and Real Estate Title. Teamwork makes the dream work.
