Crowded and noisy, but food is good and very reasonably priced. Waitstaff are hardworking and friendly considering how busy they are!

The food was really good but the service is lacking. Stood by the bar for over 10 minutes waiting to get someone's attention to pick up my order since nobody acknowledged me and there is no clear place for pickups. When I finally did I was met with a lot of attitude. I'm hoping it was just because they were busy. I live in the area and would love to have a great place to go regularly. read more

Had a great time at Dicky's. One of the few remaining local bars with great bar food. We went on a Friday night and had broiled fish, the battered fish fry and the breaded fish flat fry and they were all delicious house made onion rings were great also. The beer selection it has some thing for everybody and the service was outstanding a lot of smiling faces. It's great to see, happy people enjoying themselves. read more

Our first time at this place. We heard the fish fry was good and it was. As was the broiled haddock. We sat at the bar and were very pleased with the two bartenders as well as the hostess/waitress. All hard working and friendly. The vibe is nice too. The bartender said the place has been a bar since the 1800's and Dicky's for decades. A good mix of young and old in the crowd. We definitely will be back and recommend it to others. read more

Nice friendly neighborhood vibe. First time there I said to self..."I'm going to move into this neighborhood" ...And I did! Been in Wedge/Highland Pk a few years now and go to Dicky's at least 2-3-4 times a month. Nice beer rotations, and Taco Tuesday and Fish Fry Friday are the best.... But I've also discovered the homemade soups they frequently have and OMG are some of those worth the walk especially as it gets cold out. Roasted Butternut Squash was incredible... creamy and spicy and delicious. Add a quesadilla and you got a great meal. House French Onion is always great. It's a chatty place, so service can get slowed down with conversations... but isn't that what a neighborhood bar also specializes in? No complaints here! read more

Seemed like there was only street parking. There was a very small lot next to the building, which I assume was for employees. The place is small with a long bar and a few tables. The bartender acted as a server, and she was very nice and quick. Their selection of liquor wasn't that large but contained the basics. I had the buffalo tofu bites and tofu caprese. Both were pretty good! The tofu bites were fried to the perfect consistency for me. And I normally don't care for rye bread, but it went well with the other ingredients in the tofu caprese. The fries that came with the sandwich were tasty as well. Overall, fine experience. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely keep this place in mind. read more

I stopped into the new and improved Dicky's Corner Pub for a party on Friday night and was very impressed by the changes. Just enough stayed the same at Dicky's to bring about the nostalgia of the previous bar with enough changes that you forgot all the bad parts of the old bar. I can only talk about the drinks so far, because we didn't eat there yet, but the drink game is tight at Dicky's. The beer selection was well balanced with a few good IPA's and some seasonal selections along with some of the more basic lagers. They have some exciting shot choices including the sugar cookie shot which looked like desert in a glass and my friends really enjoyed it. I went with the dirty pickle- Jameson with a pickle juice and hot sauce back (I had it without the hot sauce- downstate style). The ladies behind the bar were friendly and fast and kept the beer coming. The new Dicky's is definitely worth a stop. I'll update this review after we try the food! read more

Dicky's Corner Pub is a great local spot in the South Wedge. I started frequenting Dicky's after they sponsored a volleyball team that I played on. They have several craft beers on tap, and Emily, our usual bar tender, makes a really tasty Margarita. Wednesday night their drink special is $2 PBR and $3 whiskey shots. In addition to the usual bar food there are some tasty alternatives like the Buffalo Tofu Bites. I'm not a coneseur of tofu, but I regularly order the Buffalo Tofu Bites with their homemade Siracha Honey sauce. Their chicken wings are also very good. read more

I've driven past this place and I finally had a chance to check it out. From what I understand this building is still owned by the same family and it's been some version of a bar since the 1880 or so. It's the oldest longest running bar in Rochester. The inside is light and bright, a nice longbar,darts, music and the back room is the dining rooms I was here with my friend for a pop up fried chicken event. They have beers on tap, liquor, cider, water, soft drinks and the like. Brian was manning the bar and was so great and told us a quick version of the bar. I understand it reopened last year or something. I'm sure your saying to yourself it's probably a dive but in the best way. Everyone comes here and I mean EVERYONE! I could actually see the late Anthony Bourdain sitting in the bar no joke. They serve food but we were here for the Hot Fried Chicken..it was fabulous. Beers are about $5 for a draft or so I got a Blue Moon which I've not had in forever. They have some outdoor seating with umbrellas and indoor seating. Parking is pretty much street as it's in a real residential area on Meigs in the Southwedge/Swillburg area. Give this place a shot it's worth a visit we will be back. No attitude and a relaxing vibe. Just was here with the wife for a fish fry. I have had a lot of good fish fries in the rochester area in my life. But man, this place was the best! Great food and very friendly staff. I can't believe I have lived in the city so long and have never been to Dicky's! I came here for a fundraiser and loved it. There is a decent size bar, a good selection of alcohol, and a few outdoor seats. The bartenders were friendly and attentive; the regulars were welcoming too! It's a very casual and laid back environment. The dining area is separate from the bar which was nice. I was there on a Tuesday and they have an exclusive taco Tuesday menu! The tacos were great. The bathrooms are updated and clean. Overall, a cool little bar! I'll be back. read more

A pretty run of the mill pub, but with some suprising menu additions that really cater to vegetarian and vegan customers, which is always nice to see. I went with my date to watch football playoffs and enjoy some food. We ordered quesadilla and chicken fingers apps to share (the first choice was poutine but they were out of gravy, they said that is typical on a big football weekend). The food was yummy, service was friendly and accommodating. Would make this a usual spot for Sundays. read more

Dicky's has been so kind to us as a whole bunch of neighborhood friends have been coming and taking over the back room. The waitstaff is patient, friendly, and attentive. We are a fan of the burger and the fish fry on Fridays. We bring our kids and the kids play board games that Dicky's has or pool. We feel lucky that this gem is in our neighborhood. read more

Frequented this place when I lived in the neighborhood but stopped in on Friday and received absolutely no attention from the bartender. After waiting and watching him serve other patrons we left and as we went out the door he yelled thanks for coming. Definitely is not the corner bar I remember and doubt I would return there, too many other establishments nearby that know how to treat customers. read more

Great dinner tonight! I had the fish fry, with Italian seasoning. Great flavor, the coleslaw was a step above most. The cut fries were full o flavor. Absolutely, hands down, one of our favorites! A corner bar with fantastic food! A fish fry that is the best around. Taco Tuesday is absolutely terrific. Bar staff is kind and welcoming. Ownership is visible and attentive. Looking forward to many future visits! read more
