Who knew yummy Cuban food could be found in Olathe! This spot was recommended by another Yelper…read more The interior is big but inviting. Nice comfy booths. Saw lots of couples - maybe this a the local date night spot?? Popped in on a Saturday evening. No reservation needed. Started with the garlic bread and chicken samosas. Both were delish. The samosas were stuffed full of chicken. The green sauce was tasty too. Lots of seafood, chicken, beef and pork entrees. I was not familiar with some of the fish entrees. It's a big menu and almost all of it is in Spanish. So I went with what Genevieve our server recommended. The chicken breast with onions and peppers. It's sounds plain but it was full of flavor and served with black beans and rice. I substituted plantains for tostones. The tostones were meh. My dinner companion ordered the chimichurri steak. It also came with black beans, white rice and plantains. She said it was delicious. They also serve paella - which I really wanted to try but they entree is for 2 or more. Some of the fish items are kinda spendy. But the other meat items are in the $20 or less range. In addition to soda and lemonade, they serve margaritas and beer. I ordered a skinny margarita and it tasted watered down. So next time I'll ask for no ice. For dessert we tried the churros. Not bad. The service was great. I'll definitely come back to try some of the seafood entrees.

You get the best of both worlds here. The place has so much seating!!! Lots of tvs and a pool table in the back area. Our food was really good - so flavorful! Hubby and I easily shared one dinner and had more than enough. It will be fun to go back and continue to try more items on their menu.

They only had one server working, Dylan, who was very friendly, attentive, and gave some great recommendations. I ordered the lunch oxtail plate with mac and cheese and collard greens. The oxtail was excellent, tender, meaty, hearty, and well-seasoned. The mac and cheese leaned more toward a processed cheese flavor than my personal preference. I usually enjoy a richer, sharper mac and cheese, like one made with gouda, but it was still decent. The collard greens had a nice smoky flavor, though I felt they could have used a little more seasoning. Unfortunately, the reason for the star deduction was dessert. We ordered two slices of red velvet cake, and both had visible mold on the bottom. The restaurant does not make the cakes in-house, so this may have been a storage issue or a problem from the bakery supplier. Regardless of where the issue originated, mold is mold, and we were unable to enjoy the cakes. Aside from that disappointing experience, the food itself was good and I would consider returning.
