Amazing tapas place hidden in the 8th!!!…read more Make sure you get the chorizo in vino tinto! In fact, get 2 of them! Everything we tasted was incredible: the chicken in garlic and white wine sauce, the skewered pork, the fried queso, the empanadas (carne & spinach/cheese), and the zucchini! Make sure to get lots of bread to soak up every drop of the amazing sauces that come with each dish. The tequila shots were closer to 4cl than 2 and only €3! Needless to say, the tequila was flowing. The service was friendly and don't be afaid to let the waiter recommend some dishes for you (though they are all tasty! The small, cozy restaurant fills up quickly, so make a reservation so you're not left out in the cold with a stomach not full of chorizo.

We chose about 6 dishes to share with some bread on the side, which was enough for 2 of us. We were super impressed with the chorizo in red wine (chorizo al vinto tinto) - the sauce was awesome for bread dipping! - and the chicken in garlic and white wine sauce (pollo al ajillo) but in general everything was excellent. The service is friendly, the prices are decent and the atmosphere is nice. Make sure you reserve a table - it was busy enough on a week night so I imagine you wouldn't get seated without a reservation on a weekend!

Puerta del Sol - Shrimps, taste! Will be better if not so salty.

Most of the seating is on high chairs and tables and in front of the bar, but there are also a couple normal round tables available. I'd saying sitting on the barbis nice but go for a normal table if you have a group of 4 or more so that sharing is more covenient. The food is very classic spanish and delicious. Portion sizes are not too big, except for the paella (for 2), which was pretty hefty even for 2 people. I think between us four we shared 7 dishes + the paella. The paella tends to be quite salty so we asked for less salt and it came out perfect. Remember to ask the waiter for the specials! There are usually some pretty tasty options on that menu. Some of my classic favourites are the pimientos, the gambas and chorizo tortilla. We also ordered the iberico rücken, which was a special they had- so aromatically fatty and heavenly. Their patatas bravas and tomato salad were nothing special. Sadly, their churros weren't super impressive either. We also got a fantastic bottle of rioja, which i would highky recommend: 2014 Palacio Remondo La Montesa. Overall, a great choice for some good foods with friends and family, who like to share.

We had the same jamon y queso board and olives plus patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, and the flan de chocolate. Oh, and a bottle of rioja. The food was all lovely, especially the flan. The wine was good, but not up to my California girl standards. I get it; my taste in these things is different. The service was a little uneven, i.e. it was a bit hard to get the wait staff's attention when we wanted something, but I also understand that dinner in Europe is a more leisurely affair.

I dined at the bar side of this establishment and I loved the atmosphere. I started with a bread basket with two different kinds of breads and accompanied by a plate of small Spanish olives and a creamy garlic dip. 4.5 stars - I liked it a lot. Plato Español consisting of Jamón serrano, chorizo for, chorizo vela picante and fuet extra. A very generous portion (I ordered a small one) and for a great price of EUR 10. 4.5 stars. Selection of international cheeses - also good, although not as generous as the order above. It is a 4 star dish, since they could have been a little more imaginative with the cheese selection. Datiles con bacon - dates wrapped in bacon with an almond in each date. The bacon was a lot crispier than I would have wanted it, although the saltines of the bacon was well balanced with the sweetness of the date. 4 stars. Chorizo a la riojano - small chorizo sausage in a red wine sauce. I liked it a lot especially since it wasn't too greasy or too salty but just right. 5 stars for the mini chorizos. Gambas al pil pil - shrimp in garlic-chili oil. Good dish, slightly more oily than I like it with a slight spicy kick. 4 stars. Cebollas rellenas - stuffed onions with creamy mashed potatoes, eggplant on a bed of guac. Very well done and possibly the star of the evening. 5 stars. I can't wait to go back to Lobo y Luna.
