Loved this place! It was so hard to find GF food while visiting Vienna and this place had a plethora of options and each one was was delicious. I was super excited that I was actually able to eat schnitzel. It was a hearty portion with a delightful crispy crust. I also tried the pork knuckle, which was also fabulous, as well as the bratwurst, which was juicy and flavorful. I loved the sides with the bratwurst (you never realize how good fries are until they are super hard to find ). Wow, what a lunch. Thanks for another great recommendation Yelpers. The soup was creamy and amazing. It came with sweet potato chips which I expected to be on the side. very good meal! First meal in Vienna and the ambiance is gorgeous! We were sat without a reservation in the upstairs portion right by the window. I ordered the burger and it was very tasty and different from all the other food, my only complaint is that the brioche bun was overcooked and it made it a little more tough but otherwise everything else was fantastic. Summary: Food was okay. The cocktail was terrible. Service was fine. Centrally located to tourist attractions like the Albertina. In general, Restaurant Führich seems to have a problem with inaccurate descriptions of their menu items. I ordered a large appetizer of beef tartare from free-range cattle with truffle butter, quail egg, caper berries, red onion rings and toasted focaccia. When I got the dish, I was surprised to see that the egg was hard-boiled rather than raw. Although it tasted fine, the beef tartare had been ground to a mushy pulp and no longer had much texture. Otherwise, the dish was fine; the bread was well-toasted and had a good texture -- although it wasn't focaccia as described on the menu. 3 stars (€16.80 in July 2021) I also ordered a melon white wine spritzer with fresh lime & basil. According to the menu, it had "watermelon juice" in it. However, the drink I received didn't have any actual watermelon juice; instead, it tasted strongly like artificial watermelon flavour. It did not taste good and I would not recommend it at all. 0 stars. (€5.90 in July 2021) Service was fine. read more

I was taking our group of four elsewhere expecting Führick to be busy but a 7P start to the opera afforded us an early (5P) dinner without a reservation! We were promptly seating with a warning the table was reserved at 7P. Within man hour the restaurant had filled! Service was excellent and food and drinks were quickly served. Our waitress was very good with helping with wine and beer selection. Between the four of us we had bratwurst and veal weinerschnitzel. We are quite new to Austrian fair so comparison would be difficult nonetheless we found everything delicious. We ended with a shared strudel, also delicious swimming in a vanilla sauce. On our last night in Vienna, we just walked around and looked at places that looked cool from the outside and this won. Great outdoor patio right off the Opera House but yet still quiet and classy. Got a great booth and immediately felt at home. A glass of wine or two and we really felt at home! The service was easy and perfect. We were told it's been in business for 24 years and there is a good reason. It's great! Asparagus soup to start (fantastic and different) and I had my last AND BEST schnitzel of the trip. Pleasant dinner during our first night in Vienna! We came here at 5 pm without a reservation and the host thankfully said that we could dine within a 2 hour window. Schnitzel - classic Austrian dish. The skin was nice and crispy, albeit a bit puffed up in some areas, and it came with a side salad. Blood sausage - My personal favorite. I previously thought blood sausage was mostly prevalent in the UK, but there's also a German/Austrian variation known as Blunzngrostl. This came with steamed potatoes and sauerkraut. The taste was savory and had a soft but granular texture compared to the British counterpart. Goulash - Decent amount of beef chunks and plenty of gravy (very salty) to apply the bread dumplings with. The ambiance of the room is a bit more upscale with dim lighting and dark wood walls. Here's an easy one: went in, had to get the waiters attention, finally he said "inside or outside?", I remarked "it's a bit hot out I think." He then immediately lost his temper, "I ASKED YOU, INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?". I was so stunned I could barely respond. I motioned for inside, and he put me at a table next to a big giant group ... the only group in the whole restaurant. That's when I realized, forget it. Life it too short. kinda stumbled on this place walking around near the Vienna Opera House and Hotel Sacher. didn't have high hopes and this is very much a tourist area. but we were not disappointed. the bratwurst and sauerkraut was very good, as was the pasta dish. they make a variety of lemonades which were really refreshing, served in a large carafe (probably enough for two people). I had an one with elderflower and mint. when we were ready to leave C wanted to take hers with her to finish, but they said they don't have takaway cups because they don't believe in plastic (even the lemonade straws were some kind of compostable material) so they said please take the glass with you and throw it in the recycle bin. that's dedication to the cause! totally recommend this place, if for nothing else than their eco-attitude! read more

A quick bite before the concert. Started with a stiegle Weiss, his usual and I had krautrradler. Nice with herbal tones. Then some cream of pumpkin soup which was excellent. It was topped with pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil. We followed this with splitting the bratwurst which was wonderful. The sauerkraut that came with it was fresh had a slight tangy but did have caraway seeds in it (just a warning). The waiters were so nice with great service - we were seated immediately with water at our table and he quickly came to take our drink orders. The drinks were very reasonably priced. As with previous reviews, I found good service and great food. This is sophisticated cooking, with multiple layers of taste and texture. I had a elaborate salad starter that combined deep fried avocado slices, a tomato pesto sauce and wonderful slices of soft goat cheese on bed of radicchio lettuce. My main dish was a mushroom goulash with wonderful crunch chanterelle mushrooms in a cream based sauce. It had a strong flavor. If you are concerned, I suggest you ask about the salt content. The foods are carefully labeled with origin and ingredients. It is easy to be organic, vegan or gluten free. They offer a variety of wines, but I drank a thirst-quenching draft lager beer. Service was at times a bit slow but it didn't bother because the waiters were so great and amazingly friendly. Had dinner with my wife. Very nice setting. Nice and quiet in a busy tourist area. We didn't have reservations at 8:30 on a Saturday night but we got a table in the main dining room despite how busy they were. The waitress said that she was very new but we thought that she was excellent at her job along with being extremely friendly. She tried very hard to understand our English. My wife had the roast pork and on the advice of our waitress, I had the boiled beef dinner. Both were good. The dumpling that came with my wife's meal was excellent. The creamed spinach that came with my dinner was very good. We ordered a bottle of Austrian wine that was excellent. There was an older gentleman playing music in the dining room. That made it all the more enjoyable. The food was better than average. Together with the great wine, the setting and the very nice waitress we had a very nice evening here. read more

This was hands down the best restaurant we've been to in Vienna. The appetizer had the most deliciously creamy mozzarella. The drink selection was wonderful. We both tried new to us traditional Austrian meals and they were delicious! The boiled steak dish may sound unappealing to westerners but it is divine! The sauces for the meals were so good I became that diner who scrapes every drop out. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating of our language barriers (they all spoke much better English than we do German). The Chef came out to check on how we enjoyed our meal and she was delightful. Also of note is they were completely family friendly. They treated the eight year old boy there with another couple with respect as well (which is refreshing to see these days). We plan to return if possible and highly recommend it! read more

So I sort of don't get the 5 star reviews. I had the veal schnitzel which was good with a side of fries which cost about 17 euro total. I mean it was good but didn't blow my mind. My wife is pregnant and only wanted the tomato and mozzarella salad which was good. I did have a glass of wine which was a pretty amazing blended merlot. The one thing I will tell you is try the crepes for desert. They were frugally amazing. My wife got a raspberry and ice cream filled crepe which was very good. Some advice. Make reservations for downstairs. There was an older gentleman playing music and singing which probably would have made the experience better. Also, there is a 2.50 euro per person coverage charge which includes your bread and a mixture of cold carrots and cucumbers. Did not see the coverage charge on the menu but I also wasn't looking for it. As everyone else stated the service was pretty solid. No complaints there. read more

My husband has a boiled beef salad it was bland and the sauce on it tasted puzzling in a bad way. Overall very underwhelmed with the food. The staff was nice enough.
