The show was fun and elegant. If you're able to, it's not a bad idea to pay the $25 for the ticket to reserve a table, but if they are all already reserved - just coming to the bar to enjoy the show is perfectly fine too (and easier in some ways since you can leave at your leisure). The venue is intimate (no bad seats) and comfortable (cup holders for your drinks at your seat!). The staff is friendly and helpful. Single tickets are a bit pricey, but season tickets offer a significant discount and you get a discount on any additional tickets you purchase. Arrive early if you want to get a drink. There's no dedicated bar, and you have to wait in line at the bar in the adjoining restaurant.

This group travels around to different bars and puts on different burlesque performance in the back room of dive bars. Well worth the $10. This one is not safe for kids. FYI They did different cosplays and interacted well with the audience. You can even by raffle tickets to win your chance to get dragged on to the stage! My buddy won and it was hilarious! The interior of the theater is ornate, with a beguiling ceiling of stars, lending itself to a feeling of endless night, which was the perfect backdrop to the Tori Amos concert I saw the other night. I felt practically spellbound in my seat (made for people of the past, of a smaller statue, so perfect for yours, truly). I appreciate bathrooms on every level (you exit the theater to a hallway, so sound is protected) and they are spotless. I didn't use the concessions, but these are on every level as well. Getting in was a breeze, and staff is polite and respectful so you don't feel like you're getting frisked or reprimanded. I loved it here so much, I feel compelled to return sooner rather than later, even though I don't go to shows a lot. Now I'm inspired!

While this is not that . . . it's perfect for New Orleans and the south and has it's own flavor. I loved the show here! Madame Kennedy was the perfect emcee (and also put on a wicked black light bubble show). Some acts were sexy and seductive. Some acts were acrobatic and martial arts based, as Madame Kennedy said, "I'm sure someone is missing their anime character somewhere." There were hula hoops, feathers, and grinders! One act was a woman who put a grinder against a metal plate on her belt and sparks flew everywhere! I also saw my first (as far as I can remember) burlesque by a transgender man. It was so much fun! We did the reserved tickets, so we got a table right up front. There isn't a bad seat in the house, but I really prefer being in the center of the action. Doors open at 6:30 for a 7 PM show, but ours was running late (we didn't mind). They have a basic bar with decent prices. They also do dance classes, varying show themes, comedy routines, and more. So you'll always be able to see something different.

This was when the theater was inside of Attraction's Salon and the experience was like no other. I had quite a long hiatus, not due to anything in particular, but by the time I returned to Cutting Edge as an audience member, the theater was a whole new place with lovely theater seating and an elevated stage as well as very professional sound and lighting. I want to say my first show back was Beauty and the Beast but that's all it took. It wasn't long before I was a season passholder. I have seen many shows at Cutting Edge from big musicals to small straight place and also many original shows that paid tribute to some of my favorite musical artists of all time. One day I got brave and auditioned for Rock of Ages that began my time on stage at Cutting Edge Theater instead of in the audience. The people I've met throughout my experiences there have all been wonderful and being a part of Cutting Edge Center of the Arts has truly made me a happier person. I am proud to now be among the board of trustees and to support this theater in as many ways as possible. There is something unique about Cutting Edge Center of the Arts. It truly is the most intimate and innovative theater I've ever been to. I believe everyone should strongly support all of their local community theaters as well as other arts in their community because without art the world would be so dull.

If you or someone you know is from South Louisiana, you or that someone will appreciate the plays here. All are usually about Cajun culture. You'll just "get it". I have a special appreciation for this place because my daughter has been in two productions. The one currently running, Torn Page is a must see. So funny, so touching and rather suspenseful. We decided upon Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre, again before I looked at the prices. When I saw it was 200.00 each, I screamed, cursed, yelled and I think cried but a promise is a promise. Low and behold this beer guzzling, sports loving, crotch scratching, manly man LOVED IT!! Worth every penny. Fast forward about a year or so and my girlfriend asked if I wanted to go to a play featuring her daughter as one of the stars. Of course, I was willing to go to support her but I had no idea I would enjoy it as much as I did again! Holy Crap if this continues, I'll be singing showtunes and talking about fashion!! Ok may be not that exteme. Ok let's get back on track. This is a small community theatre down in "Da Bayou" that caters to the people of the area. The play we saw was written by a local man that works at Nicholls State and performed by professional local actors. Yes they get paid to perform so it's top notch stuff. There are about 80-100 seats in the place all of which came from the old Saenger Theatre. Tickets are relatively inexpensive for what you get in terms of entertainment. Plus they have beer and wine to enhance your enjoyment. I look forward to the girlfriend "dragging" me back here again.
