Where does it mention the big stick of thyme or whatever vegetation is placed in the Diego's passion?!
Kendra M.

I had the Diego passion tiki drink. I know what mezcal is but they put thyme (or some other weird herb in it) it literally tasted like cough syrup. The two girls I was on vacay with tried it as well and instantly made the Mr Yuck face. I sent it back. The manager came out and told me I was going to be charged for the drink and that I should be aware of the taste of mezcal. Yes sir I know what mezcal is I however didn't expect thyme in it. Maybe put that in the drink description (which it is not). We all had the seafood omelet. That was ok. The tentacles were chewy like how you'd expect to feel chomping down on a dogs squeak toy. Wasn't really an omelet but an egg shell with seafood on it. Two stars for the view.

Had a wonderful brunch at Diego's! Great view, cute decor...very nice service from Hector! I had grilled shrimp tacos amd my daughter the eggs Benedict. She loved the prosciutto in lieu of ham. We also had a Bloody Mary and they were delicious and copious in the schooners! We will definitely be going back for casual meals, seaside! This would be a great place to be at sunset and is close to Wrecked at the Reef for after dinner music and dancing!

You can't beat a tasty meal and drinks on the beach! Great views, delicious food and drinks, a beautifully decorated tiki themed bar, and friendly service is what you can expect at Diegos Tiki Bar. My only complaint is the prices. I'd say many of the items are more money than a lot of the restaurants I dine at in AZ. But, seems to becoming more of the norm in Rocky Point these days. A few things to note: ~Diegos owners are the same owners as Manny's so if you love Manny's food (I do!) then you will love Diegos food. ~ The hotel that Diegos is in, is currently still under construction. At least 1/2 of the building is. So it may get a little noisy from time to time, but the restaurant itself is complete and so is everything surrounding it. ~ There is often live music here. You can find out when on their Facebook. As well as any other special events they may be having. ~ You can walk up from the beach! That is what we did. We stayed at a hotel not far down the beach. We walked on the beach from our hotel over to Diegos.

Arrived on Friday afternoon not very crowded took 45 to 50 minutes to get an order of ceviche and fish tacos played loud rave music. Drinks were good, that's about it, very disappointed.

Mai tai at the bar

I kept seeing this place on social media & had to check it out. Where the paved road ends & the dirt road to La Cholla begins you will find the entrance to this tiki bar. Look for the tótem poles and Diegos banner/flags waving you in just past the Esmeralda resort entrance. The parking area security guard waved me to the closest available spot. Plenty of parking. As you walk up to the bar/ restaurant area you see a bunch of people lounging on the sand & playing in the water .. great beach front views from any seat in the restaurant. Plenty of seating, they can accommodate a large group. I grabbed a seat at the bar and was greeted right away with menus .. it's a tiki bar so I went with a mai tai .. a double because why not! It was sweet, not over the top and tasty. I decided on the campechano with all the seafood.. doctored it up with one of the bottled salsa for some heat. Plenty of shrimp, octopus, & scallops served with sliced avocado & cucumber, tortilla chips & saltine crackers to scoop it up. The beach is open to customers, the covered beach chairs are first come first serve (free for customers). They have happy hour, breakfast menu, live music and amazing views. I would definitely recommend this place and am looking forward to my next visit. The esmeralda Pool area is next to the bar but you need a resort bracelet to access it.

Tiki Exotic chilaquiles ! Amazing!

Watermelon mojito

Absolutely loved this bar - especially since it was in walking distance of our resort. Our brunch was a 50/50 on food vs drinks. I had the avocado toast and my friend got the tres leches French toast. The portions were so generous, but I would have liked less mashed avocado on the toast since it was also paired with pesto and more sliced avocado on top. The mashed caused the bread to get too soggy and smothered the sourdough taste. For drinks, the Miami vice was so cheap and BIG! My friend opted for a watermelon margarita which was also refreshing and came with fresh fruit! My sweet tooth couldn't get enough! The tres leches French toast was sooooo decadent and glorifying. On top of that, enjoying it on the beach with my feet kicked up in the sun...who could ask for more?!

Four for view, service and convenience - octopus would be a 2* and prices a little high. Drinks were good. Live music and dancing were great!

We love coming to Diego's , some we always rent a condo at the Esmeralda! Food and drinks are always top notch! I highly highly recommend the fish tacos...best I've ever had hands down! Bartenders aren't stingy with the alcohol. And they will do their very best to make sure you have a great experience there. Love this place! Always are go to while in Rocky Point.

Seafood pasta

Tried out Diego's for dinner while I was on vacation. It was walking distance from our resort so we decided to give it a try. They had a wide variety of food on their menu. I decided to get the seafood pasta. It was basically a seafood Alfredo with shrimp, octopus, and scallops. It was really creamy, and the seafood was fresh. It was much better than I was expecting it to be! Despise were trying if you're in the area! The service was great as well. Our waiter was always checking on us and making sure we have what we needed!

Amazing views. Great staff and the food is decent. Wouldn't order the ribeye again but the shrimp cocktail was pretty good and happy hour starts daily at 2p!

Can't beat the view.

The waiter came out and said I'm sorry it'll be another 20 minutes the thing that's surprising is we were the only customers, I can't understand why it would take an hour to get my food. My grandson who ate here once before and thought their hamburger was the best in the world wanted to come back here because the patty he had last time was thick and handmade and very flavorful this burger Was what looked like out of a package you get at Costco with the frozen patties it had no flavor was overcooked, and the bacon was raw. The french fries were overcooked had no flavor and were terrible. My shrimp tacos were cold. They used to come out with some sauce and beans and rice and you had three big tortillas with a lot of shrimp. These were tiny little tortillas with some minimum shrimp their prices are jacked up really high now and then something we found out that not only this place is doing but a lot of others in Rocky Pointe is they're giving you a menu with prices in dollars and then when you get your bill, they convert into pesos at a higher peso rate so you're paying another 10% more than actual price. When are the businesses in this town going to understand they're driving the tourist away. It's getting more expensive to dine out in Rocky Pointe than it is in the United States. The food was terrible today. The waiter tried to make lots of excuses. He was a very nice guy, but this place will be lucky to stay in business if they keep up these practices and poor Service

The ambience is good, similar to a small Buffalo Wild Wings. The service is excellent. Kudos to Erik and Mario, most lately, who've attended to us most lately. But we stop in mostly for some American/Mexican style food. Skip: The Pizza. It's not tossed here. Nuf Said. Takeout? Always a disappointment. In full disclosure, we only did it once. Maybe's: The Wings. I asked Erick if could get Wings naked with Parmesan. They were plentiful, meaty and liberally coated with Parmesan. I've ordered the same since, and they were good, but not quite the same. I suppose experiences depend on the employees that shift. The Onion Rings: The Rings aren't made in-house. They're frozen, in exact shapes. The Best: The Guacamole Burger is excellent. There's something about Sonoran Beef even when made Medium to Well (not our preference). But the Burger is constructed well with just the right amount of Guac. Arrachera Quesadillas: These Big Flour Tortilla Diamonds are filled with Monterey Jack Cheese and very tender, small cubes of Carne Asada. The Guac Burger and Quesadillas are a sure thing. Btw, the Fries that normally accompany the Burgers are definitely sliced in-house with skins, and are hot and seasoned well We recommend paying tabs with a card or with pesos while the exchange rate is favorable Typically, our food and 2-3 glasses of wine =$US38

They do not price their drinks/shots in pesos they will charge you American Dollars. For example, one shot was 7$ which is the norm, and another shot was 12$. Compared to the other bars next door this was the bar that charge the most for shots/drinks. However staff was very nice, and it had a beautiful view of the ocean. They had a DJ, a tattoo parlor inside, swing sets at the bar, pool table and a slide that I heard broke a persons ankle that same day, if you are intoxicated don't go down that slide, but if you're brave, go for it. I've gone down the slide myself but luckily I had a friend at the other end who assisted in my landing lol.

Shark Bite is *that* bar with the slide in it!…read more The entrance is a staircase, and the exit is a slide. A literal playground slide. It is probably the stupidest idea ever, but what really matters is that after a couple rounds of "Coconut Water" it will briefly feel like a stroke of genius. Please note that no actual coconuts were harmed in the process of producing "Coconut Water". It's just 3 shots of vanilla vodka, blue curacao, and sprite. Anyway, the diversions don't end with one mere gimmick--the bar seating is made of swings, not seats. The balcony has a dance floor. And there's a billiards table upstairs. Every corner of this spot is designed for some sort of activity, and every drink would violate American liquor laws. This might be the most underrated club in Penasco.
