I was referred to Jacqueline Hartman at her Ellisville Hearing Center location for a Resound One…read morehearing aid because the referring healthcare plan provider's information indicated that Jacqueline had listed herself and her Hearing Center as an expert in Resound One hearing aids. Upon arrival, Jacqueline immediately tried to sell me a Starkey brand hearing aid instead, which was not in my best interest. It became clear that she tried to do that because she knew almost nothing about the Resound One. Her service was terrible. It was my first hearing aid experience, and Jacqueline hurried through the process without fitting the hearing aid properly for me and without ever telling me that Resound has an excellent iPhone app that works very well with their hearing aids. I discovered the app myself and subsequently asked Jacqueline about it. Her response was that there is an app and that the guidebook provides instructions on how to download and use the app with the hearing aid. At no time did Jacqueline help me with the app, set the hearing aid up for the app, or anything else. It was clear that she either did not know how to use the app or that she was not willing to do any work to help me with it. Jacqueline also did not provide me with set up of many of the Resound One's outstanding environment features such as its Outdoor and Ultra Focus settings. She never mentioned them. She incorrectly fit the hearing aids to me in such a manner that they receiver wires were not flush to my ears - her solution to that was simply to keep pushing them in further until they hurt. After only two weeks, I was so frustrated and disappointed that I was not getting the benefits of my hearings aids because Jacqueline was unwilling or lacked the knowledge of doing a good job with them, that I canceled my relationship with she and her hearing centers and returned the hearing aids to the healthcare provider so that I would be able to change to a different audiologist and start all over again, which I did. I waited until I had been provided services and assistance from the new audiologist before writing this review so that I would know for sure whether it was Jacqueline Hartman, Resound One, or me that was the problem with the inexcusably poor treatment that I had received from Jacqueline Hartman. The second audiologist did an outstanding job and I am now getting the full benefits and advantages of my hearing aids. As I had suspected, the deficiencies and problems that I experienced the first go-around were entirely the fault of Jacqueline Hartman and her Hearing Center in not being knowledgeable about a product that she claimed to be an expert on, and her failure to put much effort into doing a good job for me.

The laser treatment was completely ineffective, and the subsequent Enlighten Depigmentation System triggered a severe full-body rash approximately 2.5 years ago. The rash was so intense that it required rocky and enormous medical helps to calm it down. After that difficult period, I managed my skin issue on my own. Through more than 2.5 years of focused self home care, I successfully cleared approximately 99% of my melasma using a simple daily regimen centered on Vanicream products. The results came entirely from my self home treatment -- NOT from this facility. A. For Professionals: If a client discloses that they have sensitive skin, I strongly recommend implementing a 72-hour patch test followed by a 5-day monitoring period as a standard precautionary step. This is far more effective than relying solely on a liability waiver. B. For Future Customers: Laser treatments or chemical peels might provide temporary surface-level improvement and a short-term glow, but if underlying internal factors (such as toxin accumulation) are not addressed, pigmentation issues like melasma are very likely to return. In my case, the clinical treatments from this facility offered zero benefit and instead caused a severe reaction. C. Key Recommendations from My Experience: a. Sun Protection: Practice absolute, consistent sun protection every day. b. Dietary Focus: - Avoid highly processed foods - Minimize high-sugar foods - Reduce high-salt intake - Eat plenty of green vegetables and a wide variety of colorful produce c. Maintain well-balanced daily nutrition d. Incorporate Vitamin C serum into your skincare routine e. Stress Management: Incorporate daily meditation and deep breathing exercises to support overall detoxification. I had to wear bandages on my stomach so the blisters didn't leak onto my shirt. I went in twice, concerned, and she assured me it was normal and I should give it time. I didn't go in the sun all summer. Recently I went in for another follow up appointment to discuss options to fix my scars. I was met with a dismissive, defensive attitude and left feeling very uncomfortable. She literally scoffed saying it's hardly a big deal and that my tattoos were the real permanent alterations. She tried to skirt responsibility by accusing me of spending too much time in the sun (I didn't), that my scars were caused because of my skin tone and blue eyes (my eyes are brown), and that I waited too long between appointments (I followed her instructions). She offered to work on the scars, but I eventually decided I didn't trust her to use lasers on my skin again, and will be going to a bigger, more reputable med spa to fix the 6 scars on my stomach. I was seriously ill (uncoordinated/disoriented, in pain and suffering from tinnitus like crazy). My first appointment with a new primary was months away and I was panicking when I thought I'd found a specialist in MDBI. So, being a walk-in I paid cash for my visits.The treatment I received consisted of looking at white squares and being spun around in a chair. Again, none administered by a medical professional. When I ran out of cash, a form and pen were provided to me to take out a loan. At my last visit to MDBI I reported that I felt worse than before starting the "treatments". The young woman responded unassuredly "Sometimes you feel worse before you feel better?". Frustrated, I then asked when we were going to address my hearing issues to which she replied "oh, we don't do anything with hearing here." I was stunned.... I did not return. Finally after a couple months, I got in at BJC and got a new primary. I was on the verge of a stroke and had a blood clot that could have killed me. I have a blood disorder that I'm now going to Siteman for. It had not occurred to me that no one at MDBI took my blood pressure/vitals or anything like that. I reported my health situation and asked if there was room for any discretion in regards to expenses I'd accrued at MDBI (thousands). I was not contacted again and even had emails from an established address returned to me. In the years since, my review has evolved from "I'm confused and disappointed" to "This is a scam." At this point I heard from them again. They threatened me with further financial injury if I did not take down my review "immediately" and that this would be my first and only request before I was sued for legal fees.

This is unlike going to physical therapy businesses or hospitals where you get passed along from one person to another as their availability dictates. No one tried to sell me any packages or services beyond the therapy my doctor prescribed. There are no memberships or anything like that. I liked how un-salesy this place seems. The machine and technology they use for assessment and therapy seem pretty good. I have a much better idea of what is going on w/ my ears and even my eyes now. The online portal where your video therapy instructions are and where you can message your therapist are easy to use. There was some confusion over billing. I suspect this was due to my insurance company falling short in accuracy. I told MDBI about it and their staff looked into it and had my account fixed up in no time. Oh. The first appointments are at 7 a.m.! Isn't that great? I had to take barely any PTO. Tell Casey hello and that I decided not to have surgery at this time after all!
