The staff at the nursery were very helpful about info about the plants. If you hire a landscaper with no nursery you do not know what you will be getting installed. I wanted a step pattern retention wall, remove the old plants in the larger planter and replant with new plants. I replanted the smaller bed myself already. I wanted the mulch removed and replaced with stone. He came right out, gave me a bid which I accepted. I needed HOA approval which would be obtained in 2 wks but Alex did not want to put me on the schedule till the approval. Once that was approved, he said it would be 2 wks and he would be starting my project. That was 5 wks ago. I spoke with him once since and he said that he would call a few days before starting. That was, again, a few weeks ago. I texted him a week ago and called again today asking for a call back but got no response on either. I got other bids but I had already notified them that I was going with someone else so Mr. Menedez has left me in a bind and I am at a loss as to why he said that he was booked 2 wks out when CLEARLY that was NOT the case. Honesty is always the best policy as far as I am concerned. I would not recommend this business based on my experience as noted.

Days later we met him at the nursery office to see the plan. After we saw it, we told him we wanted to make some changes to the plan (modify the colors, the plants, remove the boulders, see how we might lower the cost), he became rude and told us he had worked a long time on the design plan and if he'd have known he wouldn't have given it that much time and energy. We were shocked he didn't even want to discuss changes. He just kept saying, "if I'd only known." On top of this, he told us it would be months until they could do our landscaping project, and when we asked if it could be sooner, he huffed and became belligerant, telling us that was not possible, and if we went with another company that could do it sooner, that company must not be any good. Seriously! Talk about ego! Does this guy not realize its OUR home and OUR money? He needs an extended course in Customer Service. We just got up and walked out of the office. We are thankful we "saw the light" before we signed any papers with Village Palms.

We hired Brothers and Sons Landscaping to replace our sod last fall. The job cost $1,200--not…read morecheap, but we were willing to pay for quality work. The company offered a 100% one-year guarantee with no restrictions, which gave us peace of mind. We followed all the watering instructions exactly, which ended up costing us more in water bills than the sod itself. Still, we were committed to keeping it healthy. Unfortunately, within just 30 days, four separate areas of the new sod began to die. We contacted the company, and Eva came out to assess. Her suggestion was to "let it go" and that the grass would eventually fill in. That never happened. Since then, my mother has called Eva repeatedly over the last nine months. Eva often said she'd stop by, but rarely followed through. On the rare occasion she did, she offered vague promises--like bringing in a professional to test our soil--which never materialized. That was over two weeks ago, and we haven't heard from her since. To be clear, my yard is beautiful overall, and the majority of the grass looks great. But those four patches have been dead since the first month, and the company has consistently failed to follow up or stand by their guarantee. I understand that sometimes sod doesn't take--that happens. But the lack of accountability, poor communication, and dismissive attitude from Brothers and Sons Landscaping is what's unacceptable. If customer service matters to you, I suggest looking elsewhere.

We felt the selection of available trees at Fairfield was good and their goods prices were on par with others, but their delivery and install was steep. We ended up choosing 3 crepe myrtles and in light of our ages and weather heat, chose to pay for FF to deliver & install. (One would think they'd discount multiple items going to same address but they didn't) Delivery / Install staff were polite, timely, and thorough in their work.
