We wanted some shade on our front yard and visited a few nurseries to view product. The staff at Fairfield Farms happily drove us up and down (and up and down numerous time) various rows of the different trees we were considering. We felt the selection of available trees at Fairfield was good and their goods prices were on par with others, but their delivery and install was steep. We ended up choosing 3 crepe myrtles and in light of our ages and weather heat, chose to pay for FF to deliver & install. Twice I have asked for landscaping and never heard back, even after having a discussion in March with all the details when I had my second request. I was told 1-2 weeks. We've been buying our outdoor plants at FFF for several years. When the hard freeze occurred early this year and we lost most of our plants, we decided to buy all our replacement plants at FFF & have them plant them. They told us they guarantee their plants if they plant them. The crew who planted the plants did a good job. All the plants thrived except one (pittosporum). We took a pic of it, took it to the nursery. They wouldn't replace it. We didn't expect them to come out & do the re-planting, just honor their plant guarantee. They wouldn't. It probably would've cost them $5-$10 to give us a new plant. We won't be returning. We've dealt with other nurseries who DO honor their guarantee & have replaced plants for us. We've sent many people to FFF. No more! They are not good business people. read more

My front yard needed a total refresh. Richard came out and listened to my needs and came up with a design that was beautiful and virtually maintenance free. He even drove me around the farm so I could pick out which trees/shrubs I liked. His amazing crew worked for two days, removing overgrown plants, salvaging some to incorporate into the new landscape, and planting new and colorful young ones with plenty of room to grow in the years to come. Working with Richard and his crew has been a positive experience. They made sure all irrigation and utility lines were properly cared for during the process. Purchased 6 plants (had to pay in fill) to be delivered and placed in ground. I never head from the company, no one answers the phone and I tried several times. I went back to business to be told someone will be out the next day, but did not offer a time frame. They don't pick up the phone they don't give you a window of time. I hate to say this because I love this place, but they don't even offer to help you bring your plants to the car, at least offer! The bathroom is a disgrace, dirty and smelly. With the amount of money that I spend on Fairfield, I should at least expect help to bring my plants to my car and a Clean Bathroom... If you can't run a business right, sell it! My sincere opinion . This plant nursery it was found by mistake. I saw it on the side of Route 301 and decided to pull in. You could spend an hour there it's so large and all the plants look healthy. They have an inside shop that sells glazed pottery and all sorts of eclectic garden decor. I bought three pampas grasses but could not lift them. A young girl swapped them up onto the cart and brought my purchase to the cash register. An older woman, senior citizen, took my charge card ran it through and pushed my cart with the three grasses right up to my car. She laid out NEWSPAPER and then whooped the three buckets right into my SUV. The woman suggested I wear gloves when I unload the new plants as the leaves were razor like. The whole buying process took me maybe 17 minutes. Very efficient and pleasant folks there read more

I write this review as a "part one." I've been to this place twice now, and even though the product is more expensive than those from other chains down the road, I will ALWAYS go out of my way to spend more and frequent a family owned business. The first time I came here, it was hard to get any advice or help from the cashiers. Which is fine, I realize they are not hired for their horticulture prowess. When I got home and looked in a book, the advice was less than perfect. Again, no biggie. Today, I got to meet "Heidi" (??) and she was super helpful. It's clear she is a professional landscaper and knows a ton about a ton. In just ten minutes I learned more about Florida plants, gardening, bougainvillea, purple sage and organically getting rid of Lubber Grasshoppers than I ever thought I needed. Unfortunately, when I bought a rose bush for mom, I neglected to notice the black fungus on the leaves and then signed the "no returns on plants" policy form at the bottom of the receipt. Too late to take back today, so mom will try tomorrow. I just feel like, if you are going to sell plants they should be fungus-free. I'm still a newbie when it comes to FLA plants, and have never had a rose bush so I didn't think to get a magnifying glass to look for possible fungal issues. Thank mom for the eagle-eye on that one! Stay tuned for the outcome. Could go either way! ***UPDATE*** Went to return/replace my $26 rose bush and was told, NOT black fungus, but rather, had been "watered too much" (obviously by the "farm") and basically I'm an idiot and have no clue. Perhaps I am, but it might be nice to understand not every customer is a rose bush expert. Gonna plant that baby and give it lots of love and hope it survives. read more

Two years ago, I paid $75 for a Fairfield " landscaper"; to come out and design for my fairly new TV house yard and pool patio complex after coming out and spending a short visit. I forget his name, but found out he was basically a RN. Maybe just moonlighting. Then later, my wife and I came to the nursery and tried to see what plan he was preparing. It was already lat3 August and still no progress, also found out he couldn' t start my project until even later in the year. We had some ideas including Mostly plants and trees to augment the basic infrastructure lawn, a few trees, garden beds and few bushes and plants, soil and sprinkler system, etc. were already in place but we estimated we might need several thousand $$ to have a designed project that also addressed our very new pool and patio area and install more decor plants, a few more trees along our new patio and pool, recently completed. Later, our calls went unanswered. Further activity seemed closed due to the Covid restrictions,etc., plus I got sick, being both elderly and handicapped. Last summer, I went to the nursery, if nothing else pick out more plants to install with minor assistance. The lady cashier I talked to denied any record of my project, my fee or the 10% promised discount. Fairfield had also offered a 10% discount for both veterans and Villages resident, which I qualify fir on both counts. These were now cancelled. " We now have no discount programs any more, I was told, as the lady bit a bit snippy. I left disgusted and left. I decided then to never buy again at Fairfield, took my business elsewhere and had about a $12,000 landscape.project installed by another nursery in TV area. I am still disgusted, feel rather " ripped off" by Fairfield. I had considered a small claims court suit, but am too bothered by health limits to bother. I was rather frustrated with them as I had really liked many of their plants, but felt I would not patronize them. Without any discounts anymore, I found their prices quite higher compared to other local area stores and nurseries. Some of prices at big garden stores like H. Depot and Loews were quite a bit lower on same variety plants, trees, a good 30-40% some compared. I was glad to have spent on such a major project by somebody else than at such a snotty attitude, cheap denial for a service in which I invested much time and effort. . read more

I used to rely on Fairfield Farms for a great selection of high quality plants, but things have changed and not for the better. I was there a week ago looking for perennial flowers, and most of what they have was unmarked in terms of the type of plant and its resistance to frost and heat. They used to get plants with the information tag in the bucket, but almost none of them had them any longer. They also seem to have come from a lower quality source rather than the high quality one that they used to carry. It was a real disappointment, and I'll have to look at another place to buy my plants. read more

My wife wanted some mail order herbs and I said shop local. She ordered from Fairfield and was very happy with the entire process. They arrived well packed and in wonderful condition. When we can go out again we will go and buy more from them at the nursery. read more

I went to look for a fountain. I found one I loved, and tried to purchase it for $657.00. When I inquired about getting it loaded in my truck they told me it was MISMARKED with an incorrect price. 1/2 hour later they told me the price was $2800.00! Buyer BEWARE! They can change the prices at any given moment. No discount! No apologies. What a waste of time. I won't be back. You could buy a $5.00 plant and they can mark it up at the register to $500. read more

We are new transplants from Virginia. We went to another nursery that was ok but then we went to Fairfield Nursery. What a great place! So much to see and Sharon helped us with any questions we had. She was very knowledgeable and super friendly. She drove us around and schooled us on the many "Florida" plants and how to take care of them. We will be back when we landscape our home! First time there. We parked on the side and spotted the palm trees in the back which is what we were in the market for. We were looking around. We have never been to a nursery where you could not walk around. We were approached by a woman in a golf cart with another couple who rudely told us this was a " working nursery" and that we needed to be escorted. My husband apologized and he was spoken to rudely again. On our way out we noticed we had entered the world of bitchy signs. We had not noticed entering from the side. Purchased a $400.00 Bush and was told it had a warranty. Plant started dying after a month. They wanted another $60.00 to come look at it and would charge more if needed replacing. What kind of warranty is that??? They tried to say it was lack of water, but I had another landscape professional look at (a neighbors relative that was visiting) and he said it was planted to deep and the plant was smothering. Also, about 3 weeks after we purchased the plant they called and said they over charged us by about $15.00. I request they just credit back our credit card. Elisa Jorgensen, Lead Landscaping Designer was easy to talk with, a great listener, and worked with me to incorporate my ideas into my design. Further, she accompanied me around the Village of Fenney and the Nursery grounds to discuss plan ideas. Her free consultation was thorough and gave me the sense that I was in capable hands. The landscaping crew of five men plus Elisa on site did a wonderful job of instituting our plan. Landscaping manager Brandon Jimerson was also great to work with, and demonstrates a keen eye for attention to detail and excellence, following through post-instillation with additional services. I went by this place today to look around the nursery for plants and waterfalls. I saw a beautiful slate-rock, three-tiered waterfall, but no price. I took a picture of it. I walked around a bit more getting ideas, as our home is being built right now. I went up to the front desk to inquire about the waterfall and check into a landscape quote, and the girl there barely waved me up. I asked about the slate waterfall and she rudely answered "we don't have one!" I said you sure do, just over there. She said, "oh you mean the one in the corner?" I said yes. She said, "that one's not for sale, but one like it is $3000." That was my original question. ‍ She was rude and unfriendly and I told her apparently "you don't want my business." That's ok. There's way too many friendly nurseries with good customer service who do. She just lost a $20,000 ticket. Shame on her and I hope management reads this! read more

I went to Fairfield Farms and was so impressed with the selection. There was a young gentleman who was so helpful and knowledgeable. I got everything I needed plus a few extra things! Everything was great until I went to check out and had to deal with the manager. She ignored me while she finished up her paperwork, she didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge that I was standing there. She was not friendly at all, and I felt as though I was bothering her. After spending over $500, not only was she outwardly rude to the young man that was helping me, but never offered me help to the car, (I purchased some large plants), and never said Thank you. Granted, they were busy, but every customer counts and I can honestly say I won't return just because she might be the one to help me...if that's what you call it. This was the best nursery we've gone to!!!!! Everyone was so helpful!!!! I attended a class on how to attract butterflies to my yard and learned a LOT - it was VERY informative!!!!!!! Then I was walking around and I texted my husband, asking if he'd like to join me because there were soooooooo many things I really liked!!!!!! lolol He came and he agreed - everyone was nice, the place was clean and pretty, and they have a HUGE variety of plants and shrubs, plus the fertilizer and dirt to take care of the plants so they'll stay healthy. There was a gift shop with the cutest things and a water fountain area. We spent ALL morning there, literally, and didn't see everything!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
