When I described the flavor profile I was looking for, she selected a wine that was absolutely perfect for the occasion. The bread, baked in house and served fresh, paired beautifully with the olive oil. We started with a melted cheese and tomato appetizer before moving on to a fish entrée and a standout special of braised scallops in the shell. We finished on a high note with a brownie and ice cream, and the amaretto sour we ordered was delicious. The ambiance was romantic in the restaurant, great place for a date, special occasion or for a classy occasion.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

The service is a little bit on the slower side, but each dish comes out plated very well. They have a good variety of dishes and the portion sizes are decent for sharing. This is a veryyyy small cafe/breakfast spot. Make sure to get reservations or go at a not busy time…read morein order to get a seat. There were probably only 20 or so in the whole place. What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)

This is what we did even though I was a bit hesitant about. Never regretted we trusted our noses and the smell. First of all, thank a lot to the host - the British guy - he was back and forth helping other servers and bartender and attending tables. Very funny comments from him also! Now to the point. Food. It's very hard to surprise us with taste, but this place did. Thank you chef for being able to put all your passion and experience and deliver those small plates to the palate at the highest level. We had risotto de boletus and manchego (wild mushroom and manchego cheese risotto) that has not only an incredible cheesy mushroom aftertaste but also a crunchy piece of parmigiano that finishes perfectly a small tapa fish. Now to my favorite buratta cremosa con tomate raf dulce (fresh creamy buratta with sweet raf tomato) , oh my Spanish chef - you are competing big time with Italian made buratta and you are winning, the buratta is the creamiest and tastiest buratta we have ever tried outside Italy, the raf tomato is just something you can't forget the taste about and it addition to it you feel every herb in that pesto! Awesome job Chef! And to finish our gourmet experience we had carillera en costra de panceta (slow roasted beed wrapped in pancetta). Don't expect anything big, but be ready to give your palate an incredible experience of the balance between the most tender meat wrapped and bacon with a touch of garlic purée, a few tea spoons but what an ensemble ! Thank you Amicis - we will remember our food experience at your place !
