Last auction I bought from him he didn't give me one lot and I didn't catch it because he kept my receipt. I saw it in the next auction and called him on it only to get hung up on and then kicked off of his site. This is the first auction in this area to shop. These folks are smart and have been in the business for a long time. They not only collect my money but teach me many things about different items if I ask. Very friendly and helpful. Their rates and costs are about average but slightly lower. Much more reasonable to deal with other local auctions that will remain on named in this review. I find something good to buy at good value almost every week. They give a cash discount. When there has been a problem with an item they have always taken care of me. Not very often but it does happen, as it is for all Auctions. Many local Auctions tell you too bad so sad even if items are misrepresented. They also have other local resellers listed through their website so you can hit about five different shops all of the same website. read more

One of the hardest working couples I have ever met. I've been on both sides of transactions with this company and have gotten decent prices for items I've sold thanks to their photos and descriptions on the live internet auctions. I've also found some good deals on items. I bought some drawer knobs in order to refinish my master closet and when I found that the count was incorrect (24 instead of the 42 listed), I got a prompt refund. I had paid with a credit card but they handed me cash. Doesn't get any more immediate or customer friendly than that. read more

My elderly aunt contacted them to sell some of her stuff. They picked up on batch of items, and did give her a check for whatever they sold. However, she had them pick up another batch of nice items, including a 25 piece set of low-heat stainless steel pots and pans. She never heard a word after that. Unfortunately, she was too trusting and didn't have them sign for the list of items she gave them. When she tried contacting them about her stuff/payments, they claimed ignorance and hung up on her a couple times. Shady business - takes advantage of the elderly. Beware.......! This couple are deceptive and exploitive. Promise that they can sell what you have and "do really well." In reality expect that if you give them thousands of dollars of your treasures, that you may get less that $100 in return. Many of my things were not even listed on their bill of sale lis. When brought to their attention, they "back pedaled" and lied. Be very cautious with them. They arenityourfavoritwcbarity. If your things will wind up being virtually "given away," better to give them to family and friends. Forget any idea of recouping a small portion of your initial investment. read more

The Difference still owes me money for items they picked up from me in Agust 2017. It takes multiple contacts to ask where my funds are and most of the time you dont get a reply. They say you get your money a few weeks after its sold and picked up but it takes much longer and only after repeated requests. They still havnt given me a list of what my stuff sold for and still owe me for several items. When I do get a response after multiple contacts there is always some personal family medical reason they havnt gotten back to me or sent my money. I get stuff happens but its been 6 months since they took our stuff and Im still trying to collect my money. They make big claims but dont deliver. You would get more money listing on craigslist! This is a terrible company to do business with. read more

I have used 'the difference' many time but he recently added 'Another Treasure' auction to their site and Robert is i crook and liar. after a item i won on his auction was 'damaged beyond use' he promised to order me a new one and ship it to me. after a month i contacted him only to be told it was on back order. waited another month and was told item was no longer available and he would credit the cost to another auction i won and ship me the items. after several emails and phone calls when he promised it 'was on its way' he stopped responded to inquiries. over a month now and nothing except to see the item 'that was no longer available. in a current auction. The difference site has amazing deals, and thier so easy to work with. I bought brand new chair for under 4 dollars, not to mention previous items I bought. I always find good bundles, I bought bundle of kitchen items for under 10$. Now I have plates, cups, and silverware. I will continue to buy from this site as I always find a good deal on there. read more

This company was hired by my client to clear out an apartment full of furniture and belongings in October of this year. There were about 9 people moving and since the apartment that they were cleaning out did not have functional toilets the workers were allowed to use one of the finished units bathroom. One of their guys wadded up paper towels to clog up the toilet (brand new, flooring, walls, etc...) They would of kept using the toilet until it overflowed all over the new flooring had I not put a sign on the door saying that it was out of service and used the oven to block the bathroom door. The owner never took accountability for his guys doing this and still has not paid the Roto Rooter bill for unplugging the toilet. This is a clear example of how Mr. Rose conducts his business and I would never recommend him to deal with estate hauling or buying anything from him since he fails to take accountability and take care of his business. read more

I won some items in auction and went to pick them up. The main item was a table and they loaded it for me but when they loaded it they gouged the table top very badly. When I said that they damaged the table they said it was my fault. I don't understand how they can come to that conclusion since they are the ones who loaded it. I told them I don't want it anymore they said to bad it's yours now. Worst experience, not going back and you shouldn't either . Horrible to their customers. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THE DIFFERENCE: My wife and I had recently moved and decided to sell our dining room set and our washer and dryer. I received the dining set from my great aunt's estate and felt it was better to sell it than let it rot in the storage unit. We contacted Dave, at the Difference, on a recommendation from a good friend. I was skeptical, but Dave assured us there would be no problem getting the price we wanted ($350.00)for the dining table and there was no need to put a reserve on our furniture. When our pieces did go on auction we noticed the starting price was one dollar. But Dave told us that he would watch the auction to make sure we got our price. I should have known better a couple of weeks later we received a phone call form Dave proudly saying our set had been sold for 250 dollars far below the 350 min my wife had told Dave we wanted. When I called and spoke with Dave he basically called my wife a liar and said we agreed on the 250 dollar amount. When I ask to have the sale canceled he flatly refused. Then he said we should be thankful the washer and dryer had sold because of the all the power washing he had to do to it. Bottom line here is, I should have known better and used Craig's lists. An epilogue to the story is Rose, from the difference, called said the check for our furniture was in the mail we have yet to receive it I dought we ever will. read more

My husband and I have been great customers at The Difference for the past year. We have spent several hundred dollars, mostly we get Ebay inventory from their auctions but also have purchased a few things for ourselves. We have never failed to pay for an auction that we won. However with their new summer hours we were not able to make it by noon to pick up our latest auction winnings, which was a planter for a total of $2.43. Being that we live 45 min away, my husband picks up things we win after he gets off work Sat afternoons, since he works nearby. I should have called them on the weekend to let them know, but I did forget. I got a reminder call Monday and I apologized and told her my husband would do his best to come by one or another to pick up our $2.43 item this week before they close early at noon. Imagine my surprise when I log in to pay for my item and I get a rather rude pop up message that my account has been disabled! It suggested "to please, please not try to bid again and to please go away, and that any further attempts to bid on my part could result in legal action!" What?? Because I forgot to pick up one small item? I thought it must be a mistake and emailed them. No response at all. Apparently this is how they treat good and loyal customers. No warning, no communication. I was not even able to pay for my item, which I would have gladly let them keep and resell for my failure to be able to pick up in time. Especially since it was only $2.43. Just be warned, they will cancel your account with no warning over $2.43 even after spending hundreds of dollars with them. read more
