Absolute worst experience I have ever had with a medical professional. I went in and got a test done for an issue that I had been dealing with for about a month. About a day or two after the test, I could see on the portal the results and the confirmed diagnosis. I waited about a week and then tried sending messages through the portal, tried calling the Office only to have no one answer and have to leave a voicemail for the Doctor's nurse. Left multiple, multiple, multiple voicemails. 3 WEEKS, 3 WEEEEKKKSSS after the test results I finally received a call, no apology or anything on the time it took them to return my calls, or even acknowledging that I had left a message, which on the answering machine said would return within 48 hours. Anyways she finally called me and told me all the medications were ready to be picked up and I could get them either that day or I could wait until the next. It ended up going the next day to get them. took everything that I was given as prescribed. After taking the medicine for the two weeks...turns out I was not given one of the medications that was needed to eradicate the problem. Told my doctor about it when I saw him again. Did not get a call or appointment set, did not get a refill for the medication to fix the issue, nothing. As you can guess, OMG, the symptoms started up again. I was losing about a pound a day at this point, dropped 25 pounds total over all throughout this. Once again I call , leave multiple voicemails for a call back. Symptoms are even worse than they were before. Finally after almost giving up on trying I called and just hit zero a bunch of times to see if I could get annyyoonnee on the line to talk to instead of leaving another voicemail that wouldn't be returned. I spoke with a lady at the I am assuming the front desk and I explained the situation and the dates of everything and the blatant medical negligence that was happening, which I could tell by the tone in her voice after she confirmed what I was telling her, that she knew it was negligence as well. She put me on hold and what do you know, she found the nurse that was suppose to be calling me back and she told her that she had gotten all my messages and that she would call me in 10 minutes. WHY DID I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS!! WHY ARE EMPLOYEES NOT BEING KEPT ACCOUNTABLE!! I have a pregnant wife at home that was crying at night because she was seeing the state I was in and was scared she is going to become a single mother because I could not receive any treatment. This experience was beyond unacceptable, the amount of negligence was beyond unacceptable, the lack of empathy/ lack of apologizing and owning the mistake was beyond unacceptable, the fact that I had to bring up the dates and proof of the negligence and that I had researched medical negligence and this checked all the boxes for a suite to be able to talk to this nurse to get my medicine is beyond unacceptable. Especially when it is coming down to people health and lives. I will never trust that doctor/nurse again, honestly I will have a hard time trusting the Digestive Disease Center as a whole because of this. Seriously the lack of professionalism and care for the patient was scary. What if I had not finally talked to that one person who was willing to go find someone to help me. What if this had been an even more serious problem. It is scary, think about having thoughts of not being able to see your first child being born and your wife being left alone to go through all of that. The people that were not calling me back do not have a second thought about these things. These are the things happening behind the scenes with REAL people. If you are too busy to handle the patients you have in a timely manner, STOP TAKING PATIENTS AND LET A DOCTOR WHO CAN TAKE THEM! I hope one person can be saved from this kind of experience from this review or maybe someone who has some kind of authority can read it and make some kind of change. I honestly feel I deserve a monetary compensation for this. read more
