Went in to get a pedicure here and I'm really disappointed. The actual pedicure was relaxing, but the woman sped through it like crazy. As you can see, on all of my toes except for the big toe it looks like there's only one coat of paint on it. I feel like because I was not a regular here (had only been once before for my nails and was equally as disappointed) she didn't feel as if she had to give me good service. A lot of the others already had their next appointments set up and I felt a little out of place with that. Only went here because they were open earlier than the other spots on a Sunday. I came into the nail salon and was greeted right away . Taken back in a reasonably amount of time . The nail tech spent most of the time talking while doing my nails . I let her know that I wash my hands a lot because of the work I do and I really need them to make them thick so they don't break or separate. She told me that there would be five layers . It's been 8 days and one of my nails chipped and not because I hit something but because water got underneath. I'm not a "nail person". I keep telling myself that and I also keep coming back to Digits not just to receive services, but because of the experience. It's such a relaxing, soothing experience that every time I leave, I forget where I am and where I parked my car. And thats a good thing. I never make an appointment because I'm not that organized, but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. The pedicure is my service of choice but in recent times I've branched out to try gel polish, SNS and acrylic nails (SNS dipped nails are the way to go if you want strong, healthy nails). I came here today in dire need of a complete redo on my nails, and WOW! What a difference! Let me backtrack a bit earlier in the day. I had scheduled an appointment at my usual spa, Angel Touch, only to find out that the nail tech I had been scheduled with did not do French manicures. If I specifically ask for a French SNS, why schedule me with someone who doesn't do them? Anyway, the other nail techs were completely booked, so I left and called Digit Nails, asking if they accepted walk-ins (they do) and if they did French SNS, specifically. Not only do they indeed do French SNS, but this is a spa that specializes in SNS. So I let them know I'd be on my way. About five minutes later, I came in and was immediately put at ease. The family who owns this nail spa is very personable and kind, but what really won me over is the pride and effort these nail techs put in their work. I don't even really see that at Angel Touch, but here they work so diligently and pay attention to every detail. My nail tech was Sara and she suggested an ombré style for the colors I had in mind (red tips, lavender base). I decided to go with it and am so glad I did! The colors look beautiful together and the ombré style gives them a more modern-day pop star feel. I also noticed how much smoother and stronger my nails were afterwards. Before, they had been cracked and uneven. Even the shape of my nails were much nicer! I always request an almond shape and this is the first time the shape of my nails actually looked the way I wanted them to. It's no wonder more people come here than Angel Touch. From what I've seen, Digit Nails definitely gets a lot of business, and it's clearly well-deserved. Go here for all your mani and pedi needs and give a great establishment more business. Yet, today, I did not enter a nail salon, I entered a lion's den. I requested a manicure and a pedicure and I received a shoddy mess, but these things happen, to err is human, I understand that. What I do not understand is the disturbed plight that ensued when I asked for a refund. What I do not understand is why you (manager), and your male employees laughed in my mother's face. I do not understand why your female employees encircled us as if we were a threat--as if we were prey. I do not understand why I was being poked and prodded and why my wrist was grabbed and my hand was rattled like a dog toy. I do not understand why your staff felt it necessary to harass this day's customers over the phone into "siding" with you as well as to drag the salon's last remaining customer into your attack to do the same. Yet, it was not the strong-arm-tactics or the encirclement theory or the numerous incantations of "I don't respect you" and "You are wrong" directed at my mother that sickened me the most, it was the fact you didn't care, none of you cared. Every time I move I have to find a new salon, probably the most frustrating thing. I stumbled upon this one and jumped nail technicians till I found Sarah. She is a heaven sent. Not only is she a nail rockstar, she is friendly and fun. I religiously would see her every 3 weeks. I would recommend her 10x over as I have not been disappointed once. She knows what to do and what looks best. When I come back into town I make sure to see her. She does great with pedicures. But I also recommend Tina for pedi's. Well...I found Digit Nails Spa on a Google search. The ratings were good, so I was like "hey, let me give it a try". Bring new to Winston Salem, I had no idea of any nails salons or recommendations. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and asked what services I was seeking. I told her and she directed me to the pedicure area. For a Sunday at 12PM, they were busy! Good sign! Lol. As I am walking towards the back, I could not help but notice how nicely decorated the salon was. They have faux brick on the walls, cushioned benches with rhinestones, mirrors on the walls that look like windows and even the seats for the pedicure area are so reminiscent of thrones in a castle. My pedicure was AMAZINGGGG!!! Omg! I also got a gel full set and that was done so well, also. To be honest I was not expecting such a GREAT EXPERIENCE! I was going to try a few nail salons in Winston Salem before picking a permanent one but I am definitely now a Digit Nails Spa customer! Sara is excellent and I'll continue to ask for her. She takes her time and is not rushed. There are long wait times, but they are always very pleasant and accommodating. This used to be my favorite salon, I went to Lee faithfully every two weeks for pedicures and manicures. Sometime after the Nee Year it changed. my regular manicurist went on a long vacation and I tried to stick it out. My manicure was never right and the new girl upfront who answered the phone is AWFUL. If you call and ask for a wait time she won't let you know and just say idk over and over again. In person it's even worse I came in today for a pedicure I called ahead and asked what the wait was she told me idk because we have walk ins and appointments...like duh y'all are a nail salon that's everyday. I came in anyways and said hey I just want to get the gel taken off and she huffed at me like it was an inconvenience. When I finally got seated I waited 20 minutes and never saw anyone, no one even started the dang water so I could just soak and wait. I walked out, Digits used to be the best now it's not even worth the crowded parking lot let along the subpar service you'll get with the front desk girl. Nail techs were lovely & kind & did a great job. The manager or owner whomever he was, walked around the salon singing, eating doughnuts & yes coughing without a mask on. Polish samples were not sanitized in between customers. Nor were chairs. Sneeze/covid guards at each station were filthy & I had to ask for station & guard to be wiped down. We walked in, in a pinch & the techs got us in & out quickly & gave us exactly what we asked for, big thanks to them & thank goodness! I loved her nails and I asked her who was her nail tech and she said Andy. I be been going to Andy every since. He was friendly, but I still went cause I liked his work. I definitely understand emergencies happen. I went today May 11,2023 and tell me whybAndy was there at work working. He actually was sitting outside the nail salon when I pulled up . He didn't speak didn't apologize for canceling and not to mention lieing to me , he said nothing! Even though I was very upset cause I'm giving them business and tips and etc it was the fact they lied! He was working and doing other people nails. I went through the process and I liked my nails but it's the customer service for me! I went to check out and the manager told me how much and laid my ticket on the counter! I was pissed cause if I hand you my card or money you hand me my receipt! She never said Thank you please come again ! She was too busy counting dollars. I will not EVER GO BACK to this place ! Got my eyebrows waxed and it wasn't a good experience at all. The wax was way too hot and the lady was more rough than she needed to be. I could have tolerated that, but then she took about ten minutes tweezing them after the fact. I've had my eyebrows done a lot over the years and typically they only have to tweeze a few stray hairs, she tweezed the entire brow. If I wanted my brows tweezed I would have done them myself and saved the $10. They don't even look good, they're uneven and I'm going to have to fix them. Also, the burn mark by my eye where she dropped a glob of (way too hot) wax is a lovely cherry on top of a bad experience. read more

I wanted to give this place 4 stars but I gotta go with 3 mainly because of how expensive they are compared to the quality. A regular, basic pedicure is $28 and another place in town I know is $20, so this is a pretty significant difference. The quality was good, although I wish they would use sanitary plastic coverings for their foot baths. I liked the elevated massage chairs and selection of polish colors. The hot towel was a nice touch, but the foot/leg massage could've been longer. My nail technician Nina seemed inexperienced and had to ask another employee several questions, which contributed to my experience here. Another area that could be improved is use of space because it felt cramped and crowded in there. Also, there was only 1 table where you can dry your hands and feet, which wasn't enough. read more

Decided to test out a new salon and treated myself to a mani and pedi! The spa was pretty crowded, but luckily my friend and I didn't have to wait at all. They had plenty of beautiful nail polish selections. Staff was also very friendly. Since it was busy, I got both my pedicure and manicure at the pedicure chair. Pedicure was very nice and my toes looked a lot better! I decided to get the standard $ 28 pedicure that came with massage with lotion and hot towel. The massage was very nice and the hot towel was another added bonus. I also decided to get the standard manicure that cost $15. The only negative about the salon was lack of drying stations for hands and toes. They only have one that seats 4 people, and a few people were not able to sit down. One of the worst manicure experiences I have had. I went in asking if they had time for a gel manicure and asking if they had anyone who was able to do a specific design (I showed a picture). They said yes to both. After sitting there for over 45 minutes before beginning, they could not do my nails as requested, although I was told before beginning that it would be no problem. Finally, they did not apply the gel only to my nail, but to my skin as well and did not clean it up. Because of this, as soon as it started peeling from my skin, the polish peeled off the nail as well. I get gel manicures very frequently and they ALWAYS last me 4 weeks. I've been to numerous nail salons, but this one is by far above all the rest! I had a pedicure that involved lots of pampering steps and a lovely moisturizing hot wax treatment. It was a first for me, and I loved it! I also had a manicure with SNS added to my natural nails. The SNS looked like new when I returned 3 weeks later for another manicure! I went to Digits yesterday for a simple manicure and am disappointed at how things have gone downhill in the past few years. First, it was freezing in there - I don't know if the heat was broken but I could almost see my breath it was so cold. Soaking my nails in a bowl of water which quickly turned into bowl of ice water was uncomfortable. I just wanted a quick manicure for an event this weekend and was told three times I needed a gel manicure. I just wanted a basic manicure! The pressure to upgrade was annoying.
