This store is everything I want in a gift shop/home store/place to browse when I'm walking around town. I stopped in while I was visiting Seattle, which was a little self-torturous because there were so many things I wanted to buy but didn't have space for my in my luggage. Digs carried some brands I'd heard of any many I hadn't plus some small artisan makers. Coming from Nashville, some of the prices felt a little high, but I think that's a Seattle thing more than a Digs thing. Would definitely recommend stopping in if you need a unique card for any occasion or want some design inspiration. read more

This is an awesome store in Ballard that is extreme well curated. We've stopped in a few times and I wanted to leave them a great review. The ownership is super friendly and all the items inside are awesome. They have bathroom, kitchen and living room items, furniture, and stuff for baby and nurseries too. Some of the things they sell, such as the outdoor patio furniture, are impossible to find online. I definitely recommend checking them out for fun items for your home. read more

This place has been around for about 5 years, but today was my first time in. What a great find for holiday shopping when you want things that are unique, well-designed, and fun. You'll find everything from baby/kid items and furniture to candles and cards. I scored some hanging light fixtures in their clearance section (half-off!), and drooled over everything else. Half the fun of the experience is browsing and soaking in the displays. The store owners are sweet and helpful, too...their young daughter helped to ring me up, so I love the idea of supporting a family-run business! I cannot say enough positive things about these folks. I ordered something special for my wife, for her birthday and I was just a bit late to the game. It had to ship down to LA and I was worried it wouldn't make it in time. After placing the order, I sent the kind people at Digs a message via their website and said, "Hey, what can we do to get this here by the end of the week?". Next day, I get a call and they say that they got my message and we took care of business! It will arrive in time. This place runs hot and cold - they have curated the store beautifully, but sometimes you get friendly service and other times (like last Sunday) the guy behind the counter seems bothered by the very act of asking about a product and has no interest in, I don't know, maybe trying to make a sale on an expensive piece of furniture. I will chalk it up to a bad day - everyone has them - but we walked out with a plan of just going elsewhere for what we needed. Walked past and decided to drop in for a visit. Such a cute home goods shop. I was primarily in there looking at the unique variety of cookbooks and cool kitchen gadgets. The prices are as expected. There's also a huge sale corner in the back -- everything in it was 50% off when I was in. All the sale items were of quality. All the tables of goods are well thought out - so the shop is organized well. I'll definitely stop by again whenever I'm in the area, there are so many cool things to find here! The service is excellent! We had been looking for a specific Gus Modern slipcover couch, and all the local dealers in Nashville, TN were shut down because of Covid. I found the couch that we wanted at a great price at the Digs website and ordered it. The next day they got in touch to confirm the order and made sure my order was accurate. It turns out I had just ordered the slipcovers and not the couch itself - a mistake I assume people had made before. I had the option of ordering it on Wayfair and if I had, they wouldn't have gone the extra step of pointing out my mistake. A simple phone call and Ben was kind enough to cancel the order and price out the couch in the exact configuration we wanted. Really pleased with how easy they were to communicate with and how quickly they processed my refund. read more

Unfortunately this place seems to stop caring about you after receiving your money and does not stand behind their products. I ordered a $3300 Gus Modern Jane sectional from here. I had previously purchased this same sectional five years prior, and was impressed with the quality. However, things quickly went sideways. After ordering the sectional and giving this store my money, I was told the sectional would be arriving in 3-4 weeks. Come week three, I'd heard nothing and called back for an update. There was some confusion on their end with the salesperson looking for the order. She finally replied back that there was a delay and the sectional would now arrive 3-4 weeks from that time. The impression I got was they just forgot to order it. The sectional arrived, and I noticed some differences compared to my first one. Minor things, I thought - until one day I was nudging it around and heard a big crunching noise as my knee went right through the cheap flimsy crap they used for the back. This was NOT of the same quality as the original, which was impressively sturdy and sure to last decades. Gus decided to cash in on their good reputation by churning out crap furniture that rises to the level of bad counterfeit. It is absolutely not the quality you would expect of a $3300 sectional and is outclassed in durability by simple $1000 IKEA furniture. I emailed DIGS about this. Emails went back and forth, they kept giving me the run-around. Ben said he was talking to Gus. Not once did DIGS ever proactively reach out to me about the situation, I always had to call and remind them to keep things moving forward. The overall impression was they had my money and just wanted me to go away. Finally I just asked to return the sectional. Ben refused while claiming in the same email that DIGS stands behind their products. They absolutely do not and continue to sell this cheap garbage in their store to this day. Now I'm out $3300 for some cardboard furniture that would never survive a move. Do not trust this place with your money. read more

Digs is a fantastic new-to-Ballard store, but apparently they had a major presence in Bellingham before they moved here. If you've been missing the cute funky modern vibe of Velocity Art & Design since it closed, well, miss no more. I got to chatting with one of the owners, and he was saying that they actually had held off on opening a Seattle location because they didn't want to compete with another awesome small business (Velocity) even though they're in way different neighborhoods. How cool and respectful is that? Not only am I obsessed with a lot of their cool products (check out the amazing delicate stoneware flowers!) but I can also 100% vouch for their customer service. They special-ordered an item for me, let me return it if I needed to even though it would've been hard to resell, and generally were totally helpful and kind every step of the way. Some of their stuff is pricey, but it's all high quality merchandise with an incredible design bent, and I look forward to spending way too much money there once we've caught up on our finances after the holidays, haha. As soon as this placed opened, I had to check it out. And wow, did Ballard/Seattle need a store like this! Ever since Velocity in SLU closed up shop, our fair city's been a bit bereft of fun, modern furniture/gift destinations, and Digs definitely delivers! There's beautiful American-made furniture as well as stuff from popular designers like Jonathan Adler, Marimekko, Dwell etc. Plenty of fun smaller items, cards, and some adorable baby clothes/accessories for the design-minded. The space itself is awesome, too - huge and open with beautiful wood floors, a nice layout and fun music playing. If I could, I'd drop much of my paycheck here. But a little at a time will have to suffice. ;) read more

Cute, hipster-y home furnishings store in Ballard. They have kind of a mid-century, quirky, high-end aesthetic going on. They have some furniture in store, combined with lots of non-essential items--pretty candles, printed mugs, fun kitchenware. Digs also happens to carry my favorite solid perfume from the Soap & Paper Factory so I try to stop in whenever I'm about to run out. It's always fun to swing by and check out their displays. I was looking for a place to check out a Fatboy bean bag and this was the closest location to me in downtown Seattle that I could find. Well, I went in to try one out and really like the style of a lot of things in the shop. I managed to get out of there without spending too much by only buying the Fatboy, but I'll definitely be back. After ordering the Fatboy, there was some trouble with the factory shipping it out. However Ben at Digs stayed in touch over email and was very nice and helpful at encouraging Fatboy to ship more quickly (I'm not sure he was as nice with them though!). read more

This is a long overdue Review I live in Hawaii and it is really difficult to get cool modern pieces on island. So when I was looking for a lampshade to go with a lamp base I purchased from a Set of Mad Men when they Filmed in Hawaii, naturally I looked on the internet. I came across Digs and a Thomas Paul print they offered as a custom order. I ordered it and everything went well and as promised until it showed up. The scale of the print was blown up so big on the shade that you couldn't see half of what was in the original example on line. After a few emails sent back and forth the sales associate Ben notified that the manufacturer was no longer offering the print and could only refund me my money. On top of it they let me keep the shade as a token of their apology. How is that for service. Every business has problems to deal with, It is how you deal with them that makes of breaks them. Amazing, easy to shop store that has more product than it looks like from outside. There's a lot of stuff here, without it feeling crowded or like you don't have room to freely browse. I could probably buy everything I need for a home from this one place- it fits perfectly with my mid-century, minimalist leaning aesthetics. Sadly, I was only in the market for a couch. Many of their floor models were marked 20% off, but the one I coveted the most was not. I was ready to but it anyway, but the woman working offered to call the owner and see if he would extend to discount to the one I was going to buy. He said if I could wait three weeks to pick it up, they could discount it for me. It would have taken longer to get one shipped, anyway! That great customer service totally solidified my love for this store. They were very friendly and helpful when I came to pick up the couch several weeks later, as well.
