Deals and Discounts is one of my favorite stores to shop at. The store is always clean, well-organized, and stocked with a wide variety of products at noticeably lower prices than many other places. I really appreciate the selection: they carry everything from household items to groceries, and I often end up finding more than I originally came for. The staff is usually very friendly and willing to help point you in the right direction if you're looking for something specific. While a few of the stockers don't speak English fluently, they are always polite and do their best to assist. Overall, shopping here is always a positive experience, and the combination of affordability, variety, and cleanliness keeps me coming back again and again. read more

Stumbled upon this store a few weeks back with my husband and friend. We just left Dollar Store and was walking by. Look interesting so we went in. It had much more items than the dollar store. We were able to find what we needed that the dollar store didn't have. I'll be sure to come again. read more

Christmas comes but once a year now and here, now and here, bringing lots of joy and cheer, tra-la-la-la-la! DII is fully stocked and prepared for the holidays! Rows upon rows upon rows of Christmas ornaments welcome you once you enter the store. What joyous sight! With years, fewer and fewer stores stock holiday decorations, so finding seasonal goods has become a tremendous problem. I moved this year, so I need a looooot of new holiday decorations. At least I can still rely on DII for basic necessities. You can find anything here from Christmas tree ornaments to wrapping paper to children's toys and small gifts like fuzzy slippers. The quality of Christmas tree ornaments is "made in China," so don't expect these items to last a while. But, with searching, you can find some decent decorations that will look great on your Christmas tree. The cashiers work well, keeping the line moving. My cashier smiled at me, as she scanned all my tree ornaments and packed the bounty into a huge plastic sack. After splurging for over $20, I received a complementary Santa hat. Cute. read more

After emailing the store notifying them of the review, I was contacted by the customer care dept of DII stores who apologized for the incident. They said the manager was unaware that the couple cut the line but that wasn't true, the manager was aware. The bottom line was that they didn't just blow me off or give the standard corporate "we're sorry for what happened" response. I thought the response was sincere and that they really did look into what happened and I will accept the apology and shop there again. read more

We are now in the fourth week of the Corona virus quarantine, over one thousand people died in the tri-State area just yesterday and this store is not only taking no precautions, they are deliberately putting every customer that walks in at risk. Their security guard, who doubtlessly comes in close contact with hundreds of people every day was blocking the door when I tried to walk out. He stood two inches from my face and didn't wait for me to hand him my receipt before touching my hand and taking the receipt himself. He then breathed all over the receipt as he checked it, stuffed it back into my hand before I could object and cleared the way for me to go. Yes, I have been going out for long walks or bike rides every day. That and the internet are the only things that keep me from feeling totally secluded, being in my six room apartment, all alone. I've been also trying to go to one store a day, just to pick up extra essentials that they might run out of, at any point. However, when I have been out or in stores, I've done everything I could to stay at least ten feet away from anyone else that I see. Many stores have been taking precautions, having lines outside, only letting in a limited amount of people at a time and even having one way aisles so people don't walk by each other, in opposite directions. This store doesn't seem to take any precautions. And again, they do put people, starting with their own employees, at serious risk. There are thousands of stores that don't have security guards checking receipts at the door. In this particular store, the cash registers are in full view of the security guard, if he stands by the door or, far better, if he were to stand off to the side. There is absolutely no reason for him to block the door, stand in people's faces and physically touch their hands to pull the receipt out of it. He can see who is paying and watch them walk from the register to the door. It was near closing time when I was there and the guard had doubtlessly stood two inches away from and taken receipts from hundreds of people, that day. Every one of them, starting with the guard himself, now has to worry about having Corona. I don't normally post negative reviews, I believe everyone is entitled to mistakes, imperfections and bad days and I've never had a problem with this store or the employees before. However, until this DII changes its door policies to go with the times, I think they should be shut down and fined. The rest of us have stopped our lives. They can make a slight adjustment to their policies and stop putting all of their customers at risk. read more

You've got to love a store like this, that sells pretty much all your basic household needs: clothes, toiletries, accessories, cleaning agents, bedding, office supplies, electronics and snacks for SUPER reasonable prices. Especially when an expensive CVS is a few feet away, which charges twice on pretty much the same stuff. You can't beat a nice, light t-shirt, perfect for working out or hot days for only $2!!! I buy all my workout clothes here because I think it's absolutely insane to spend upwards of $30 on capris, t-shirts and tanks just because they're attached to a brand name. They also sell nuts, a healthy snack for reasonable prices, $1-$4 is the usual range. What I really don't like is that all of their nuts, even the cashews are salted, that mars the whole healthy snack purpose. Pretty much any place that sells nuts has salted and unsalted options. I really wish D2 would start selling unsalted nuts, so that I and people who want to reduce their salt intake could buy them. A problem I encountered at this store is that when I was returning something I bought with a debit card, they couldn't reimburse my card. Their machine was running amok and wouldn't read my card, so they gave me the money back in cash. All in all, I love this store, I just really wish they sold unsalted nuts. it shouldn't cost the store more money since it's the same product/brand/amount just with one less ingredient. In that case, it should actually cost the store less. read more

Good place for shooing for any house. You cannot leave this store with just one bag of shopping. We call it Macy's of Coney Island. Friendly staff and good prices. Parking lot is available for 25 cents for two hours. read more

Please be careful with cashiers, they are completely unprofessional and always don't pay attention when counting money. They accepted my $10 bill as $1. I called manager who said come back tomorrow and if the cashier is over $10 we will give it back to you,...are you serious???? I said that they have to count her draw in front of me, instead the manager took it somewhere else and came back in 5 minutes saying that it actually short ....are you serious???? I asked them to call police, they refused...I asked them for the consumer bureau information to report this store and they refused again...but they took $10 bill from the draw and said that they are returning these money from their own packet...are you serious??? Very unprofessional and rude staff and managers, dirty store, worse than most of the 99cents stores. Use it only once in a while when something couldn't find in 99c store. Just a fantastic inexpensive place to get just about anything you need for you and your home. I was searching for a thin golf shirt w/ a pocket for the summer and came across this place by accident and bought a whole lot more than a golf shirt! The prices are just so great that you can't resist spending! Don't be afraid of the long lines-they move pretty fast. Great parking for a small price and overall great experience! read more

While I usually go to the one in Ozone Park (which is pretty good), this one is larger, with a slightly better selection. Parking is next to nothing at the located lot, they are friendly, and you can't beat the prices (I wish though they would get a public bathroom as none of the stores seem to have one) read more
