I am a huge longtime Warm Vanilla Sugar fan and I could not find it; the personnel explained the line was streamlined and suggested the Vanilla Cafe as a nice substitute. I tried the body lotion and was hooked! Additionally, their Marketing Department keeps turning out unique scents such as their Milk line during the holidays(David Chang, Birthday cake scent). Additionally, beautifully merchandised seasonal displays, currently the Valentines displays are enticing and very pretty. There is also their Semi Annual Clearance sale with products marked down as low as 75%, great time to stock up for you and gifts for friends and family. I use their Lemon scented kitchen soap religiously, my dishes smell so great! As with most retailers, there is a loyalty program and BBW has a nifty one and a nice promotion just for you on your birthday. Very impressed with this location.. This location is similar to many of their other locations. The store is always extremely neat, you are always greeted at the door and sometimes offered assistance or a bag for your shopping. One distinct difference is it's a little dark toward the middle and cashier area of the store, but I have no issue with that. read more

I've always liked this location of Bath & Body Works because the employees have been friendly and helpful every time I've interacted with them. They are currently open with COVID protocols in place, including limited numbers of customers (22 people at a time according to the sign in the window), a line outside for any customer overflow, hand sanitizing upon entry, more hand sanitizers available for use throughout the store, plexiglass barriers at the registers, and signs recommending social distancing. While they're doing their best to make things safe for everyone, the store itself isn't that large, so it was hard sometimes to socially distance. That was especially true around sale items or popular sections like hand soaps. The line was short and moved quickly, and we now have enough hand soap to hopefully last us a couple of months. I come here often before heading into the city. The store is amply sized and has tons of variety and most of the main scents. It is jam packed so I would recommend exercising caution when walking through the aisles. I have seen a few people knock down displays. The staff can be hit or miss but, they are usually aggressive in this location trying to get you to smell scents even if you just wanna look around. read more

I like going to Romania with friends, because there's usually a bunch of blind creatures sucking blood, and my friends enjoy taking videos of me running from said creatures. We call those trips "Bats And Buddies." This is the Bath & Body that's located in Bay Ridge and it's pretty much similar in terms of price to a lot of the other locations - but sometimes has slightly less in the way of product, because they don't have as much floor space even though it looks big on the outside. It's a typical New York City store in that regard. A little bit understocked and can't get really busy. It's still a cool store. read more

When I walked in I was greeted, which is great- I smiled back and was appreciative of the help they offered, but i politely declined and said I did not need any help. The staff then made me feel extremely uncomfortable the second that I started to shop around. I just wanted to shop peacefully and listen to music (I had visible headphones on), and every 2 minutes a different staff member would come up behind me and ask me if i needed help or if I had an account. I understand that these things are a part of working in corporate retail, however this was overkill. I literally felt like a small animal that was being hunted for sport. I feel like asking if i need help or if i have an account 1 time is enough. I was asked the same things several times, had to take off my headphones multiple times to answer, it just started to get annoying and it made me not want to shop anymore. What really killed me was when the cashier left the counter to come up to me and ask if I was a rewards member. I said I wasn't sure. After i put my headphones back on and continued, I heard him loudly speak to the rest of the associates through the walkies- "I asked her if she had a rewards account, and she said she was not sure. Once she gets to the register I will ask her for her info to look it up, and if she isnt then I will sign her up." Again, i understand that this is a retail corporation. However, try to make it less obvious. I was so uncomfortable and weirded out. I am sticking to online candle shopping. read more

I've been coming here for years I'm a pretty high paying customer I'd think I've walked in and bought from this store countless times. it's a couple blocks away from my house but the past year or so with this new manager with the thick black frame glasses is DISGUSTING, god forbid you get a hello how are you welcome from her, never heard those words come out of her mouth and she's supposed to be a manager? I've worked retail for many years across the street and have never seen a behavior like hers, perhaps the DM should take a visit because it's well past due. All I hear everytime i walk into this store is her gossiping so loud and about stuff customers should NOT be hearing. The first interaction I've had with her that made me notice her behavior was when me and my sister were smelling a tester and she literally screamed (unless she's always loud considering her gossiping echos throughout the store) to not use the testers, when it was one. When she realized she was wrong she didn't even apologize, she just walked away. We flat out stood there shocked from her behavior. Ever since we've always felt like as if she has a problem with us. Why as customers do we feel that the manager hates us...... that's the vibe she gives off. NEVERRRRRR have i heard a hello or have had any help offered from her to me but she'll help others. I've always kept her disgusting behavior to myself but today she went past the line. When i walked in today, i was the only customer in the store, she was right in front and she didn't even let a customer walking in stop her from gossiping to the bodyguard loss prevention guy whoever it is therefore leading her to be screaming in my ear. So instead of a hello I'm getting screams in my ear. This is not what i want when i walk into a store I'm buying from. She needs to go, it's been too long either train her on her behavior on customer service or get her out of there. She completely ruins the experience i remember such nice girls I've befriended a couple in the past but ever since she's come here it's TERRIBLE. I popped in here with a friend who was seeking a gift for a friend and a couple of candles to make the domicile smell a little nicer and with the store being relatively new to the area we went in here. As soon as you walk in the smells overpower you and I mean its strong. I honestly don't know how someone can work in that all day long without needing a break. Its nice sure, but like I said overwhelms the senses. There are plenty of different candles and hand cleansers to choose from. If you have a favorite scent I am pretty sure that they have it. I carry around a Purell with me all the time and will be sticking with that since I don't wish to smell too flowery during the normal course of the day. Perhaps if I was entertaining friends it would be nicer but who knows. I did notice an issue with their rewards program. My friend signed up and got an instant coupon for something free. We asked could he use this now and the staff said yes. When we went to bring something back to use the coupon another staff said we had to purchase something. When I directed to the previous salesperson they said they had never said that. Now since the store was not crowded nor am I hard of hearing I didn't appreciate being pointed out as not being correct with what I heard but don't worry I suggested she learn her stores principles before trying to embarass customers who only wish to enjoy the benefits of a rewards program. Overall if you seek something that smells nice and can tolerate a heavy air of the scents while you browse do come in and peruse. I would double check the rewards program though for good measure in case they still haven't decided what they are doing with it. read more

My 16 year old daughter and her friends try to go in and store front associate won't allow them to go in and said "you guys not gonna buy anything so you can't go in just go to Claire's" I was furious once my daughter text me, I call in the store and told the rep that it not acceptable the way the store front associate treated my daughter and her friends like crap. Nice store but the older women ( there's about 3 or 4 them) who work there are very rude ...almost mean girl like. They're aggressive and rude and they talk about the customers right in front of them through their ear pieces. They tried to tell me that I couldn't return or exchange my online purchase there even though it says online that I can go to any store to return or exchange, also gave me a hard time trying to use my coupons ( I had two different coupons that I wanted to use for two separate transactions (one for each) and they said I couldn't use my coupons, when they saw they were gonna lose the sale they then "allowed" it, meanwhile bath and body works mailed two coupon booklets to me so why can't I use them on separate transactions?) Would rather drive 30min out of my way to the next location then to deal with the old ladies who work here. Very childish and disappointing for such a big brand. read more

Came in looking at candle products and greeted by Holly. She was super friendly and provided info on the sales for the day. Additionally, she got us a basket in case we were getting multiple items. The store is well laid out and bountiful scents roam about plus plenty of signs indicating the sale items. We look forward to our next visit and hope to see Holly there. read more

First, I was surprised to find a Bath and Body on 86TH street. Second, I can't believe they're still around. However, its golden years are long gone. Nowadays, it feels like I walked into a candy store because everything looks and smells like candy. Not the type of scent I want to slather over my body. Their product packaging also looks very childish these days with sparkles and glitter and I suppose they are trying to target the tweens now. I was hoping they would still have the classic scents in stock like Country Apple and Cucumber Melon but they retired those products for quite some time. It looks like you can only purchase them online but with limited stock. Apparently I'm still stuck in my late 90s trend. This is a brand new location which opened a few months ago. I am regular customer and used to shop at Kings Plaza mall, but this 444 in Bay Ridge a lot closer to me. I went there few times and was not happy with customer service. Store always looking messy, you have kids working there, manager name Braolio should have some kind of training how to talk to customers and how to greet customers, he is unprofessional and rude not only toward me, but toward other customers. Bath and Body Works should reconsider to fired some people and hired professional staff, if they want this location to be successful and busy. If you don't believe simply secret shop this location. Us humans can be very confusing at times when it comes to how we expect to be treated during our shopping experience. We get annoyed if we are not greeted or annoyed when we have a nasty experience. Today I have a complaint and I hope it gets taken into consideration. Today I walked into Bath & Body Works to just browse around. I wasn't looking for anything or on the hunt for something new, I was simply just looking around and enjoying the day. I was greeted when I came in which I expected, the associate told me the deals going on, and I politely said thank you and that I was just browsing. Within five minutes of me going from one side of the room to the other side, I was looking at something and once again I was stopped to be informed about what I was looking at, even though..I never motioned for assistance in any way. I started to feel a bit flustered because all I wanted to do was to browse on my own without the constant associate coming up to me. Once I was finished with the side I was on, I proceeded to walk towards the back, and once again I was asked by another associate if I was okay, which I didn't mind at first because she only just saw me for the first time. What bothered me, is when she asked if I was okay and I said yes and proceeded to turn back to what I was looking at, she then proceeded to ask if I was looking for anything and even with saying no, she was still trying to push her customer service on me. I absolutely appreciate the importance Bath & Body Works enduring that customers are taken care of, but LET PEOPLE SHOP IN PEACE. When you first see a customer come in, greet them, tell them the sales, and move on. Allow that person to browse for a little bit longer than five minutes before you bombard them again. I actually walked out after the third employee because I was just annoyed with it all. I honestly won't ever come back to this particular location. You cannot do that to any customer. i love the products, but this store is a bit much. first, they don't take any coupons except their own, which was a big turnoff for me. they do have good sales. when they first opened, the sales people were all so nice and helpful. now you are lucky if you find one. if the store is crowded, they sometimes just shrug their shoulders (young salespeople) and move on, if they don't have an answer. other then that i am glad it's there, as it's convenient. otherwise, i can go online. read more
