I love me a greasy bag

What a treat! A genuine old school dirty burger from a bygone era. It's like taking a bite out of Ville Emard. Now that I've discovered this is on Uber eats, I'll be hitting it up often. I got the double bacon cheese all dressed. I chose not to have the bun with beef drippings because I don't see how something like that can survive delivery via Uber. The regular steamed bun held up perfectly upon delivery. I was even able to zap it for 20 seconds in the microwave without it turning into a soggy mess. Very impressive! The burger tastes fresh and is loaded with all the right things and none of the nouveau hipster toppings (like blueberry Jack Daniel's reduction truffle oil foie grass lobster tail...etc). On a separate evening I tried their 10 inch sub which was decent. I used to go to the one on Notre Dame when I lived in the area and always appreciated their product. There is something to be said for a burger joint that has been in business for about 90 years and continues to make old school fast food. It feeds the soul and brings a smile to my face. While it's not my absolute favourite burger in Montreal (Burger de Ville), it's definitely up there.

Sometimes you just need a little grease in your life. I admit I've been a little slow to discovering this Montreal institution, and while other establishments are considered montreal landmarks now, like Schwartz's, Montreal Pool Room, St. Viateur Bagel and the Orange Julep, Dilallo Burger definitely needs to join that list. They have been serving burgers continuously now since 1929 and with an 80+ year history, that's nothing to sneeze at. Located a few blocks away from Monk metro station, Dilallo Burger easily serves up the best fast-food version of the burger and can easily compete with Five Guys, hands down for best fast-food burger in town. Don't bother getting anything else but the Buck Burger which comes with capicolla and hot peppers. Bacon is extra. You can ask for a "Wet" Burger (some of the meat juices are allowed to percolate into the bread), "Dipped" (some of the hot pepper juice) or "Dry" (none of the above). Fries and onion rings are nothing to write home about, but the burger is the reason why you come here. Unless of course you're a crazy NHL fan. Mario Lemieux and many other NHL heavyweights have links to Dilallo Burger, as evidenced by the walls which are literally covered with newspaper clippings, posters, pictures of Dilallo's connection to sports and local celebrities over the past 80 years. This is a great spot to hit either before a movie at Place Angrignon or to come by after your kids game.

Whaaaaaaaat?!?! Delivery both times I've ordered here took 16 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. 5 stars for delivery. - The poutine: perfection. 5 stars. Brown tasty gravy that I love! Will hafta ask for extra next time cuz i like my poutine soupy lol. Perfect cheese curds, perfect fries. A medium is 7.75 and perfect side dish portion for 2-3 ppl. - The cheeseburgers: 3 stars. Great taste, great size/portion, ok toppings. I hate that the damn things fall apart...literally crumble outta the burger onto the plate. They need to fix this. For 5.15 per burger I expect it to stay relatively together while I'm eating it. I also hate that they put a full huge onion slice with all its rings still glued together...its just too much onion, chop it up or separate the rings and only put 3-4 rings not the full slice. I am sooooo glad that I found out they deliver (By searching "poutine delivery" on Yelp BTW). They have won my business as a regular and despite the crumbly burgers, I will keep makin that ritual order here cuz of the poutine!!

The Buck burger is one of the best burgers in the city. I really like the all new interior but I do miss the old place.

I'm particular about my fries, preferring them to be on the crunchy side, but that's because I like texture with every bite. Compared to other fries I've had, these definitely past the test in pairing with the burgers. They also serve beers on draft, along with a ton of options that aren't the typical soda options. They seemed to be intentional with their options, which I appreciate. I'd say this place has a lot of potential of being the burger and late night spot in Verdun, given that they close at 10PM and have more options than just burgers and fries, but also a chicken sandwich, salad, different kinds of fries and poutine, along with different kinds of sweet drink options such as frappes, limonades, wine, and even cocktails! I'd say if there was a place of opportunity, without getting into the nitty gritty details that I typically care to comment on, I'd say it'd be the lighting. It's so bright, almost hospital like. My suggestion is to go with warmer and less lights. Definitely check out Joyo, but bring a pair of sunglasses, just in case.

After receiving the corn dogs; you hope to find a warm place to try them. We went inside the metro to eat them. They are delicious, but since it's deep fried, you feel the heaviness of it in your belly. I was happy to try them but the experience to get them and eating them somewhere warm was horrendous.

I went on their second day of being open and for the ramen hot dog and the Gamsung hotdog (mozzarella cheese deep fried with pieces of French fried potatoes on top). Both were delicious but my favourite was definitely the ramen, it was so crunchy. You order on the right hand side of the restaurant and then wait in the line on the left hand side to receive your food (pay attention to your number as they will call it out to let you in the restaurant to pick up). Once you pick up your order you have a choice of 8 sauces. My server put a bit too much so I say less is more when it comes to sauces. They have a menu on the side with their recommendations of sauce to put on which Kogo. You also don't want to overwhelm the Kogo with too much sauce because there's so much to taste already. I put spicy mayo, mayo, and honey mustard on both of my Kogos and it was too much. The sauces were good but it just got too much. If you want to put more than one sauce, ask the server to only put a little. My friend got the volcano with chill sauce and recommends that one. He also got the ramen hot dog with spicy mayo and he said it was a bad pairing, he thought the spicy mayo would've been good on another hot dog. I also got the pineapple juice and it was pretty good! A bit ordinary but good to pair with your meal. Prices are around 4.99-6.99 per Kogo so not cheap but they are loaded so it's worth it. Lines seem long but it goes by quickly.

The cheese is creamy without being sticky, and it's seasoned just right as to taste the cheese but with a kick. The sandwich was also great, the chicken was really juicy without being too watery or too hot with the fried portion slipping off. As for the food, yes lots of burger, but also offerings that are in regular burger places like salads, poutine and such. The place is on the second floor and span on two floor with an outdoor terrasse (I think on both floor). If you are in a wheelchair or can't go up stairs, you can't reach the restaurant. There's no elevator anywhere (although I don't even know where they could fit it). The place is quite small, like most restaurant near that place. The bathroom are only on the second (third) floor. I took the supersonic burger with fries. The fries are generic fried brown fry you get from corner shack but less greasy (in fact I didn't taste the grease/oil). The burger I took was very good. It felt different then regular burger I take at other place where you can taste the grease or something that make the burger heavy. I finished eating it and while I was full, it felt like I had a light filling meal. My girlfriend took another burger I forgot the name and she really liked it. She took it with the salads which is mostly just greens. You can substitute the buns for lettuce for free. There's also different sides offering, some with extras frees like poutine. The service this time was good. No big wait, waitress came at multiple time to check to see if everything was ok and to refill our glass.
