Dillards is a timeless and classy store...always. Are they hip to the current styles? Of course. But they also retain the magic of the traditional department store that has gotten lost over the years with strip malls dominating the landscape. Each time we come here the store seems spotless and well run. Kudos to the management. My wife purchased two pair of shoes and really enjoyed the service! I recently visited Dillard's to buy shoes for my 4-year-old, and unfortunately, it was one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've had in years. I don't typically shop in-person, but I had this idea that we might get help with sizing and understanding of the difference between the brands if we went in-person. Maybe there was SOME reason to still make the hike out to a box store, as opposed to buying on Amazon. Well, after waiting 20-30 minutes, trying on the display shoes, no staff in sight, and my 4-year-old begging to leave - I had no choice but to help myself.... In hindsight, yes, I should have just left and taken my business elsewhere, but my son already picked out a toy...so, I was pretty set on getting him shoes, a toy, and heading out. Anyway, after trying on all of the display shoes that I could find, I finally went into the back to grab several pairs of shoes so I could start fitting my child/hopefully complete my purchase. I was balancing six or seven boxes and organizing them for my son to start trying on when two staff arrived. I was finally asked if I needed help. Ha! I said that yeah I really did need help, but I had everything I needed at the moment. So, then, one member got a real stern voice and serious look on her face to tell me customers were NOT allowed in the back room. Like I was in the wrong or did something wrong - In front of my child. I said I wasn't sure if anyone was working the area, or if it had turned into a self-serve option. (Everything else has). I explained I had been waiting for almost half an hour, and I just wanted to try on some shoes. The staff member then told me that they had not been off the floor THAT long. Again, in front of my child. Like - why are you arguing with me about the amount of time I was waiting without help?? A simple, 'I'm so sorry for the wait--let me help you from now on though, because I'm the one that should be getting things from the back FOR you' would have resolved everything. Instead, the staff chose to reprimand me, argue over irrelevant details like how long they were gone from their post (you think I WANT to go do your job), and generally make me feel extremely awkward and unwelcome. To make matters worse, they stood off to the side glaring at me as I juggled putting shoes on my kid AND putting ones that didn't work back into their boxes. Wouldn't it have been helpful to assist me in that moment? Wouldn't it be great to say, "Hey, I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot there at first...but, can I help a mom out by putting these shoes away for you if they don't work?" For reference, I purchased $130 worth of shoes and toys from the store that day and had intended to buy multiple pairs of shoes if anyone had been proactive in helping. On a search for a dress for a special occasion and saw there was a Dillard's in Huntsville, awesome! I took a day trip there and was able to find something I like. I previously purchased a dress from another location, was able to return, and make this purchase. Customer service was good as the ladies were engaging. Now the dressing room could stand to be vacuumed and the mirror cleaned but ultimately serves its purpose. I was able to get some measurements done in the intimates department as well and Ms. Debra rocked despite having to change the method due to COVID restrictions. She was very patient with me to make sure I walked away confident when making future purchases. Overall a good experience! read more

I like Dillard's! This store, in particular has easy parking from the south side, where you enter the ground floor at the accessory area. Parking is also easy from the attached parking deck, on the 2nd floor with Carrabba's adjacent. If I recall correctly that entrance leads to the men's department but don't quote me. I really like to browse their sale accessories, look at their costume jewelry, their James Avery jewelry items, shoes (they have good sales, ya'll), shop for Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Bobbie Brown favorites (especially when they offer a gift with purchase!), and for special occasion dresses. I like their Antonio Melani brand for cocktail dresses. They do deeply discount their sale and clearance items! They also have an extensive selection of lingerie. I'm fairly low maintenance when it comes to needing help in a department store, but when I have sought associate's help, they have always been kind, and helpful! read more

I am a little surprised by how many negative reviews there are. I have always shopped at dillards - they have a great selection of clothes and they have some great sales as well. This dillards seems to be no different from the standard that I am used to. It appears clean and well taken care of. The employees that I have interacted with have been pleasant and helpful. The changing rooms are a little outdated and can use a refresher - but that being said everything has been clean and tidy every time I have been here. read more

WILL in Men's Suits is a top quality salesman and fitter, and made sure my husband's linen/wool suit fit him perfectly, pinning and giving precise instructions to the alterations department. He also helped us find the best accompanying shirt, tie and even dress suspenders! MARGARET of Clinique gave me a complete make-up demonstration, and taught me how to create a subtle yet dressy look, which was just what I needed. I am very pleased with the products I purchased from her, as well as the reminder sheet she wrote for me. And thank you, Margaret, for being willing to incorporate a few items of my own as you showed me what else I needed for daily skin care! read more

I bought a jump suit for $95 with taxes on June 16 and I didn't have the original tags nor the receipt. But because of the interaction with an employee and the assistant manager yesterday, I came home and found the receipt and went back today. The assistant manager was passive aggressive acting like she's doing me favor. Nope you're not. I purchased an item and you're Obligated to make it right. Gift card or whatever? She so was rude and didn't like that I came back with the receipt. Yesterday, one employee said how do we know if this is our item. What? You don't know your merchandise? Just horrible service. Today, at one point, I looked around and saw a police officer. I hope that was a coincidence but in this climate with Black people it's hard telling. I'm done with Dillard's! Would give a zero if I could. They have the worst customer service. I went to find a dress and while I was still looking, the attendant inform me that there was a five article policy. I told her I was still looking, but would set aside some when I was done. She rudley came and snatched the clothing from me. Then, after I tried on my clothes and was leaving the changing room, another attendent stopped me and told me to go get the clothing from the room and put it on the rack. I was already out of the area and she made me go back. Horrible customer service. What they even being paid for? The two ladies in the dress section, who worked 4/16, at 1:30 should be fired. I was in Dillard's last night and received the most appalling service from Ms. Geraldine in swimwear. She was absolutely rude without cause. One of the nastiest attitudes I've encountered recently while visiting Dillard's Huntsville. Due to her possibly being my elder, I was respectful and did not engage her pettiness but chose to speak to an evening manager. Dillard's Huntsville does have a "few" associates who are an absolute treasure but it's a shame how it's definitely losing its shine with these "new hires". Dillard's Huntsville is one store that has the quality and brand of clothing that I prefer but I do believe it's time to take my patronage to a store that has associates who know how to simply be polite & helpful to all customers....or maybe just order online with the rest of the world. Best place to shop for dresses around. Mrs. Janet did an amazing job at listening to all of my needs and helped me pick out an amazing dress. I seriously recommend her to anyone looking in that department. I give her 5 stars all the way around. Her department is kept clean and very well organized. The rest of the place wasn't quite as well kept up with though. Could have been due to this being the Monday after Black Friday, but the floors definitely needed sweeping and things elsewhere just seemed very disorganized. Be aware of this location! Purses are used and in extremely bad condition. Spoke to a purse repressive named Simon Emani. She was extremely rude and basically said oh well your fiancé was told they were vintage. Aka vintage to them is used which clearly he had no idea. For a used item in horrible condition don't buy here at all cost. Will be taking legal action let's see how far I can go to get full refund. Also, Jennifer was also very rude and just as bad as her customer service reps. Guys save your hard earned money this place is disgusting! read more

I have shopped at this Dillard's location for years and given them ALOT of business over the years and never had a negative experience until I was shopping their Christmas clearance on New Years Day 2023. I had purchased a Mr. Christmas Ferris Wheel at their day after Christmas sale. It worked great the first few days but seemed to not be working correctly after the first couple of days. When I was shopping on NYD I had asked one of the employees (not sure of her name but she had medium length hair and wore glasses) in the home department if she knew if the Mr. Christmas items had a warranty and she looked at me as though I had asked her something over the top crazy and responded "I have no idea" in a VERY rude and snotty way. Shouldn't their employees know about the products that they sale, especially items that have a three figure price tag?! I worked retail while in college so I understand the stress that it entails during the holidays but never was I rude to the customers who were the very reason that I had a job! Even in an age where customer service is a thing of the past because businesses are having such a difficult time finding workers since so many people are being paid to not work, treating the very customers that help you stay in business is unacceptable. Thankfully it turned out that the item was working normally after viewing it on the vendors website because she told me that if it was in fact defective that it couldn't be returned because it was a clearance price. It is a completely unethical business practice to find out that something you sold a customer a week prior is defective and refuse to accept it as a return, especially for something that was over $150! DILLARD'S DESERVES BETTER! I honestly feel as if I am being punked!! What is it with this town and dirty floors in public areas! I just don't understand it! I am not speaking about every single store that I visited, just about half. This Dillard's stood out for two reasons: the floor in the accessory, (bags) department was filthy with stains and trash and the smell from the cosmetics are was so toxic that I had to cover my nose while passing through. These are such simple things but they can actually drive your customers right out of the store. I don't like dirty and I don't like being in dirty environments so I can't be expected to spend time actually shopping in your store if I am uncomfortable and distracted by the dirt. Here's a tip: clean the floor before you open for business! If you spill one of those heavy duty fragrances, (the kind that you smell before you fully enter the building), just clean it up with a neutralizer that actually removes the odor and allows for uninterrupted breathing. ***I like Dillard's because we have history and I shopped their stores when they were Pheiffer-Blass. They deserve better than what I experienced today. Please make an effort. read more

Bought my daughter some dresses at the Huntsville Dillards 49 days ago. She finally chose one and we tried to take the rest back. Apparently they only accept returns for 30 days after purchase unless you have a Dillards credit card. (which I did not know) My daughter was treated so rudely from the moment she entered the store. She approached a customer service counter and was told that she could only return in the department where the items were purchased (Juniors Dresses). She asked where that counter was and was told that it was next to the junior dresses....nice, where are the junior dresses? She approached another counter near some dresses and was told to go to juniors dresses counter, again......near the dresses. After approaching 3 counters and being told it is'nt the right one, but wont tell her where the right counter is, she finds the junior dresses and the counter is closed. She wanders around and finally finds an employee in another department that said, sure I can help you at this other counter.....(wait what? you can help me at a counter that isn't juniors dresses?????)then refused to return because she was past the 30 days. So ok you have a 30 return policy. Now I know that. But still will never shop at Dillards again due to the extreme rudeness with which my teenage daughter was treated. And the rude treatment came from adults. Grown women, treated my teenager with nothing but rudeness and lies. If you dont want to do your job, (which you obviously can do returns from another department as the lady who finally assisted) just stay home, and save us all some grief. read more

So...this is a pretty good Dillard's for the size, but as I was followed around by security nearly the entire time I shopped, it will probably be a long time before I return. This is really disappointing, because I worked at a huge 2-story Dillard's through college and was consistently the top seller in my department and a few times the whole store, so I'm partial/nostalgic to this department store over most others. I just moved back to the States from Germany, so was a bit like a kid in a candy store. (If nothing else, because clothes are WAY cheaper here). I looked at a display of French bras, and there was a man in a suit staring at me from across the department. OK, weird, I thought. Then I walked over to shoes, and there he was again. I tried on some shoes with the help of an associate and when I glanced up, he was gone. I continued looking around the store, with sporadic greetings from employees, but I was just in my happy little bubble...until he would all but pop up in nearly every department I walked by. It was starting to get REALLY unsettling. I found a great Zac Posen (Zac Posen in a Dillard's! Movin' on up!) mini bag on clearance and chatted with the sales girl who rang me up, then wandered to the jewelry department. There was a rack of marked down cuff earrings. I held a pair up to my ears without removing them from the card and looked in the mirror...only to see the afore-mentioned man was standing behind the counter staring at me!! He never even said a word, smiled at me, asked if I needed help, just stared or pretended to tidy up each department he was in. Dillards employees work in ONE department, not 5 or 6! That was the final straw and I left soon after. I strongly considered returning the purse on principle. This is absolutely INFURIATING. I have never stolen a thing in my life, and as a legitimate shopper and former employee, nothing feels worse than being treated this way. Because of what I do for a living, I pay very close attention to my surroundings, so perhaps I'm just hyperaware. But I don't know if I can return here. read more

This is really a review for the Hair Cut Salon upstairs next to house wares. I paid $15.50 for a haircut and was sorely disappointed. I honestly don't believe the girl that cut my hair had been in her job for more than a year. She had to get "a second opinion" and that's when I knew I was in trouble. She was nice enough, but I just don't think she should cut men's hair. I have what looks to be almost a small bald spot on the side of my head thanks to her over-aggressive use of the clippers. Unbelievable! I would've given it one star if she hadn't gotten help from another more experienced hair stylist. I hardly ever write bad reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others. The sad part is, I think there's really only one girl there that wasn't great. So, it's quite possible you might have a different experience. I think I just "lucked out" getting the more inexperienced stylist there. Oh well. It'll grow back, right? 8^) John H. read more

This is the most horrible customer service I have ever encountered. I went to the New Year sale today. The people in "black" who are suppose to be knowledgeable did not know a thing about treating people right. There was a sign on Christmas dish 75 percent off.. AS did the whole store say 75 percent off on Christmas.. it did not ring up even 50 percent off regular price. The cashier doesn't let you see what is ringing up and then I walk away and see it and immediately turn around and she says we do not correct here.. GO TO CUSTOMER SERVICE.. Another line and the lady there says NO, they do it where you purchased it. I tell her that the lady told me she could not and would not. Then she POINTS her finger at me and says NO, YOU DONT TALK! I have never been treated this way. GOOD BYE and looks like you made a lot of people mad today by your stupidity in hiring complete imbeciles. . Well, I took everything back because I was mad.. and, I came home with one pillow .. CHRISTMAS and was charged only 25 percent off original price!!!!! YOU are really NOT A GOOD STORE!!!! read more

I recently slipped and fell in Dillards' ladies restroom. The floor was apparently wet, as my pants legs had wet stains on them, as I had told Cody Hustin (?) from Dillards corporate office. I suffered a sprained ankle, severe bruising and swelling on my left side (from hitting the pedestal sink), and multiple bruises. I had asked the store to cover my co-pays for going to the ER and they are refusing to do so. I have spoken a couple of times with Cody and he seems to think that it was an "unforeseeable accident", The restroom is poorly lit, there were no signs indicating that the floor could be wet and the accident occurred just after 1 pm, when most people return from lunch. I wasn't asking for the full ER bill or pain and suffering. But now, I guess I have to hire an attorney and ask for all of that. And they get a bad review. I guess I won't make any further purchases in that store nor walk through there to go to the bank when I'm working (I do work in the same mall in another store). read more

Horrible & disgusting experience! The store is filthy! My 84 year old mother was getting tired & needed to sit down. The sales associate pointed out a chair. She no sooner sat down & insisted I help her out because the chair was so grossly soiled she didn't want to put her hands on the chair sides to pull herself out. She went into the changing room with me & the floors were so gross I didn't want to take off my shoes to try on slacks. We couldn't wait to get out. When I moved to Huntsville 11 years ago Dillard's was one of the nicer places to shop & now I wouldn't go back if someone paid me. I sent an email to Dillard's giving them my feedback & the automated email said I'd hear from someone in 24-48 hours. NOT! They don't care about the store & their customer service is horrendous. Don't waste your time! Take the time & drive to B'ham or Nashville for quality clothes, great customer service & clean stores. read more
