Cute little place I've kept passing up on my drives to the Akron area. Came here on a slow day, they got a comprehensive menu that's affordable on any budget. Tried a couple of items on their menu, their BLT was amazing! Their dilly dog should of came with a description because I didn't know it had cheese on the dog. Their speciality pumpkin pie shake was really good and all this food for $10 in a time where everything is expensive is great. Very friendly service. I have Dilly's 5s because the service was point on, the food was delicious and inexpensive, and how cool is it to experience a drive up diner style eat in - with window tray and milkshakes. The food out fast and hot. We had a great experience. It was fun to eat in the car and watch drivers come in and out to pick up their orders. Perfect start to our Cuyahoga Valley National Park adventures. Plenary of options for vegetarians and meat eaters. The prices are very low for the quality of food. I've been reading a lot of ~discourse~ about how Swensons has slowly changed for the worse. (Personally, I think the Cuyahoga Falls Ave location has been consistently good, but that's not the point of this review). But Dilly's kept coming up as a superior option. Unfortunately, our experience was a mixed bag. We ordered online and took it home, so I can't really speak to the service. My fiance ordered a double cheeseburger, I had a mushroom cheeseburger, and we split an order of broccoli cheddar bites and the fried veggie sampler. Plus a cherry limonade and a California. My burger was terrible. I almost never give feedback on this level, but it was completely dry and borderline burned. I wouldn't even give them a second chance on this one.The mushrooms and cheese were flavorless. The best thing about this was the bun, and that seems like . . . a problem (but also showcased how Swensons did take a nose dive after forgoing local bakeries for buns). My partner's burger was marginally better, but we both agreed that neither of us would order one here again. The veggie sampler, however, was absolutely fantastic. It featured fried zucchini, cauliflower, onion rings, and mushrooms. The veggies were all flavorful and truly fried to perfection. The broccoli cheddar bites, while maybe a touch too cheesy for my liking, were also quite good. As bad as the burgers were, that's how good the fried veggies were! The California, sadly, was not great. The pebbled/crushed ice is what really makes it, and it just had kind of an "off taste." I actually really dislike the Ohio at Swensons because it tastes like straightup cherry syrup, so I really enjoyed the cherry limonade, which had the citrusy tang to balance out the sweetness. Burgers: 3/10 Fried sides: 9/10 Drinks: 7/10 I would come back here for those veggies, and there was a range of items on the menu that sounded pretty good. But in a head-to-head burger showdown, there is no competition with the more well-known franchise. read more

The burger was dry and tasteless. The french fries were also dry and they tasted like the oil had been caught on fire. They had a weird smoky taste to them. I was very disappointed as I haven't eaten here in a while and was looking forward to it. Not a good experience today. read more

Great specials - got the Sunday two mushroom cheeseburgers for $5.50. Added sweet potato fries. One free refill on the ice teas. No outside seating, but covered parking still provides shade on one side for late lunch. Going to have to come back and try their Dilly Dog/Burger (now that we know what they are) as well as the chicken bites folks are raving about here. (will also have to try their regular fries). Lastly might as well get a Boston cooler where we can get it (also now we know what it is). Call in your order or order online in advance if you'd like, otherwise the food doesn't take all that long as you relax and maybe have some music on. Ended up at Dilly's after The Wine Mill unceremoniously refused to seat us at one of the twenty empty tables because we didn't have reservations. Their big "welcome, we are open" sign outside says nothing about reservations! But I digress.... This is a good place to get some quick eats! Very similar to Swensons, order and eat in your car. The burgers were well cooked. I passed on the Dilly burger because tartar is one of the sauces... glad I asked! We both got double cheeseburgers with ketchup. The fries are crispy. Great shakes - some of the best around! I will definitely stop here again when I'm in the area and need a quick meal. read more

Cheap, fast and did I mention cheap? This place is great, you sit in your car, turns headlights on for service and someone takes your order at your window. Servers seem to be high-school aged.. they are fast, but they oftentimes forget simple things. I had to keep calling them over for extra napkins and condiments, because they would only bring out half of what I needed. Otherwise, the food was exceptional. Simply put, for the money Dilly's has the best burgers in town. Their milkshakes are outstanding. The servers are friendly. I've stopped to grab food to go several times since Dilly's opened on State Rd. The food and service are consistently head and shoulders above the other fast food restaurants in the area. I stopped in here before a concert. I was really hoping for diner like drive in fast food. But that's not really what i got. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. As well as quick. The menu is well rounded and has a good variety. The prices are extremely low. But honestly I don't find that to be a good thing. We ordered the Thursday special of 12 boneless wings. An order of onion rings and a double cheese burger. The boneless chicken wings looked good but were so deceiving. The inside didn't resemble chicken. These are like the low quality chicken nuggets in the freezer section of the grocery store. The onion rings were honestly the same. The burger was good. I love the vibe of this place. A few years ago my cousin told me of a burger drive-in that is better than Swenson's. I was extremely skeptical, but decided to try it. Man!!!! I was blown away. It was the best burger I had ever had in my entire life. Ever since then, I have taken all of my friends and have proved to them just how incredible Dilly's really is. I live half an hour away, but I make the trip to Dilly's because I have never had anything short of a great experience there. I always get two mushrooms cheeseburgers with mayo, it is still the best burger on planet earth for me. All of the employees are super nice and speedy. I grew up eating both Swensons and Dilly's and I love both. Everyone raves about Swensons but - to be honest - Dilly's has long been my favorite. Boyfriend works across the street at State 8 we eat here sometimes, especially with the pandemic it's quick food that is easy to to eat picnic style. Car hops are always friend. Went here for the first time last night and was very impressed. Nice alternative to Swenson's, with a unique, diverse, and lengthy menu that has something for everyone. Very clean and new facility with parking for about two dozen cars, and easy to get in and out of the lot. The food we ordered (steak sandwich, nuggets, fries, and medium drinks) were a generous size, nice and hot, and very tasty. The service was great - very quick to greet us, gave us a menu, asked if we had any questions, and our food was out in what felt like a reasonable amount of time. The carhop also stopped back to see how the food was. I'm not sure about all of these reviews that say their food is better than Swenson's, because in my opinion Swenson's is 100x better. Burger tastes like cheap, rubbery meat. Marinara for cheese sticks was cold and didn't taste good. The fries were the only thing we ate that we would say is better than Swenson's. My husband and I tried Dillys a few weeks back. I called ahead to order and my order was ready when I got there. I will say I was slightly disappointed with some of the items. The menu mentioned jumbo mozzarella sticks, and they were nothing of the sort. Still get a decent sized portion but menu description was deceiving. This is not a very good food spot. John the server was fantastic but quite frankly that's about it. The burger was mediocre... drive 5 minutes down the street and go to the golden arches and get a mcdouble you'll thank me later. The cheddar munchers were pretty solid. The chili cheese fries i have been burping up for hours and regret ordering them just as much as my toilet will later on. I recommend stopping for a milkshake but nothing else is worth it. The bun on my burger could've gone toe to toe with muhammad ali and the french fries had about as my taste as my 12th grade english teacher. I've been to Dilly's several times because the Cuyahoga Falls location is near my home. I've always thought it was good but sort of had the impression that is was just a rip-off of Swenson's. Today I visited the new Swenson's on Cedar Rd and it was awful. Had the Gally Boy and it was dry and flavorless. I now realize that Dilly's is far better. Maybe Swenson's just stopped trying and Dilly's tries very hard? I hope the owner of Dilly's works on his marketing and advertising because so many people don't even know they are in town. We had a wide array of items from Dilly's tonight, and I have to say that their burgers are their strength here - very Swensons-like, buttery bun, velveeta type cheese and a sweetness coming from somewhere ( bun?, burger patty?). They really serve an exceptional burger. The other items were just a little off the mark. The chili dog had a great chili sauce, but was ladled over a sad, average dog. The fries are bigger and meaty and just my style, but they had NO salt, so my favorite fry-sneaking routine on the way home with the food was just blah. The tartar sauce on the fish sandwich had a very powerful flavor of pickling spice that took away from an otherwise okay sandwich. I called Dilly's at 5:58 p.m. on Wednesday February 3rd to place an order, a young lady answered the phone to take my order. I gave her my order, 6 double cheeseburgers, 5 milk shakes, 1 BLT, 1 Shrimp Dinner + Applesauce, 1 Chicken Tender Dinner + Applesauce, 3 Onion Rings, 3 French Fries Totaling $67.35. I asked her to read the order back to me and she did, I then for triple redundancy read it back to her. I asked when the order would be ready and she stated 15-20 minutes, I said thank you. I sent my children to pickup the order with the list of food and the total, they arrived at 6:20. At about 6:22 a girl came out and the children stated they were there for pickup. They gave her our name and she went inside and came back out and stated we had to pay for the order first before it was made. WHAT, why Call Ahead Ordering Then? They paid at 6:25 p.m. and our order was ready at 6:45 p.m., 25 minutes late, remember it should have been ready by 6:20. The order total was $78.65 which was $11.30 more than it was supposed to be, my children didn't catch this mistake as they assumed everything was the way it was supposed to be. I called Dilly's and spoke to the girl on the phone to let he know she over charged me $11.30, she asked "Exactly, what did I overcharge you on". I giggled and said, "I have know Idea as your receipt is not itemized" I went over the order, I went over the pricing with her, in the background I heard "Don't let them lie to you, they always try to lie". He picked up the phone and right away stated my parking lot is full, I do not have time for this, what can I do for you. I will not bother writing in detail about the next 5 minutes beratement from the Dilly's Manager as it was brutalizing. The customer service from Dilly's was hands down the worst service I have ever received in my life and I have travelled over 30 countries and eaten in some seriously questionable places. We later found out that they gave us 2 extra cheeseburgers which would have made up for an extra $5.50, the girl who took the order was incompetent as so was the manager. We hardly ever stoop to fast food, but we were hoping Dilly's would be a higher-class fast food. Well, the service was so bad I gave the entire order to our dogs and took the family out to a restaurant. What we learned about Dilly's fast food establishment is don't expect much as this facility is run by careless teenagers who claim to own the place. It's not about the $78.65, it's about the 1 hour of wasted time and the out of control ridiculously poor customer service. did not know this location existed until recently - have been to the one in Akron a couple times previously - this location is in a nicer location & does not look as run down (although the food at the other never disappointed) - opted for the steak sandwich this time (mom had one too - this was her mother's day treat lol) + husband had the foot long dog .. we split onion rings & fried pickles & were totally full & satisfied .. the young lady that waited on us was very friendly & efficient .. the husband & I indulged in the Cherry Lymon which as usual was delicious .. we will return to either location but I do have to say the atmosphere at this one is a little better read more
