Armando Romero was prompt with coming out to do the estimate. At the start, I felt the estimate was a fair price for the level of effort. What I got, was better than anticipated. #1 - The workmanship. Top notch, with meticulous effort on the brick laying. They did not rush this. #2- Communications- Armando kept in contact, no concerns from estimate through completion. Armando let me know who and when folks would be at the house. #3 - Absolutely professional from start to finish. This was a small job for these folks, but I felt like it was worked like their only job. I would highly recommend Romero Masonry.

I was going to let this go because this is a small business but the lack of professional has me so upset. I should not have to baby sit contractors (I hired a company fir a simple slab). I wanted to move on and cut my losses as they did try but didn't have insurance or the funds to properly repair this but now I'm so upset about I had to fight for 8 days to get a slab that looks like a DIY and on top of it I'm being blamed? Just wow. Original: DO NOT HIRE CARL MILLER or STRUCTURE PROs!!!! Look at my terrible slab. I paid him and now will be stuck dragging this to court because he's unresponsive. This is the worst concrete I've ever seen! And, wonderful news--my crumbling money pit of a slab won't even support a hot tub. His legal name is Jeremy C Miller.

The going rate for an engineer to evaluate the structural integrity of a home is around $800. $600…read moreis most cases. This is for 1 day of their time. The folks at Andrew Consulting Engineers and specifically Neal Andrews, are trying to charge me $3800 for one days' worth of work. I agreed to their hourly rate. I didn't realize they were going to take advantage of me and fake bill me for work they didn't do. Only one engineer was contracted yet they are charging me for 2 (and the second engineer per Neal is not qualified). He states he is the only one qualified to do this work so I'm at a loss on the second unqualified engineer charge. And they are charging me for 8.5 hours on a report that was less than 2 pages long and stated nothing of substance. We know that report didn't take 8.5 hours. It's absurd and insulting to state that it did. I would not use this company as they are trying to take advantage of a woman. They would never charge a man $3800 for this service and they would never bully a man. I've received threats from them multiple times. I used another company weeks later for the same evaluation/work (certified engineer) and they actually produced a report of substance and charged $600. Neal is now threatening to sue me with their lawyer if I don't pay this absurd amount. I agreed to the hourly rate. I agreed to not let the invoice EXCEED $3800. I also knew there was nothing wrong with the house so it couldn't be that much or take that much time. I was right, there was nothing wrong with the house. The 2 page report shows that. Per the sellers they were only there for 4 hours. + The 8.5 hours they billed me for the report is bogus because no report that short could ever take 8.5 hours. The second engineer is bogus because per Neal he/she isn't qualified and I even never agreed to pay a second engineer. I hired 1 engineer that I thought was a decent human being. I didn't realize I was getting scammed and they were going to fake bill me to get their $3800 no matter what. The world has had enough of companies like this. I would never use this company for any service again.

Nick and his company recently did concrete stamping on a rather large patio in our backyard. Nick and all of his employees were on time and very friendly and met all of my needs and questions answered. They cleaned up after themselves, and worked very hard on very hot days. Nick answered my contact in a day or so and came out and gave a quote right away. The price was in line with what I was looking for and the work was scheduled promptly and our patio looks great. Just what I wanted it to look like. If you need stamped concrete work this is where you should look. They were respectable and very pleasant to work with. Will use them again for other work as well. We absolutely adore our new home! Our original home was built in 1983, but thanks to Essence of…read moredesign it looks and feels like a brand new dream home. Essence of design expanded our entire house including the bedrooms, baths and closets. They also added a half bath, his and her closets, mud room and back porch. They also enclosed and extended our garage to incorporate a workspace and storage room. We replaced the plumbing, electrical, HVAC and added a fortified roof. The kitchen is amazing! Infinity Cabinets replaced all our cabinets and they are all slow close. We have a fancy coffee cabinet to hide our coffee maker and my favorite is the secret spice and cooking utensil cabinets. The quartz countertops are the main attraction which are featured on a huge island that has hidden storage cabinets. We worked with Wilmington appliance for all our kitchen appliances and Ferguson for our lighting and bath fixtures. They were all wonderful! The tile contractor also did amazing work. Special thanks to many individuals at Essence, but especially Mike who did it all! He specially designed and crafted the cabinets in our mud room and custom design our his and her closets. Also thanks to Cassie who kept everyone organized. Also thanks to some or our favorite people who helped all of this come to fruition - Eddie, Jay, Steve, Chrissy and Brian.
