This is the best restaurant! It is a friendly, family owned business. We have never had a bad meal here, but then again we have never dined here more than 11 times in a week (no exaggeration).. The menu is ridiculously extensive, and this is not even including the daily specials; some the items on those menus are incredible and some of our favorites. They also sell their sauce and their marinara sauce in mason jars, which people come hundreds of miles (literally) to stock up on. Fabulous pizza, hot and cold subs and sandwiches, and a great selection of pasta and antipasto. Though they have a great selection of desserts, you likely will not have room because the portion sizes are rather generous. For some of us as first-timers to dine in on a busy Saturday night, the wait was about 25 minutes, and we got the next available table right by the kitchen, where magic happens. We decided on the Calamari Marinara, Caesar Salad, Lasagna, Small Garden Salad, and Sunburst Salad. The food was delicious, made fresh, and cooked to perfection. Fried calamari paired with their homemade marinara sauce, which can be purchased, had great flavor and was not chewy. The portions were generous, and the price didn't break one's wallet. Our server, Jess, was friendly and accommodating. I had the opportunity to speak with Jack DiMaio, sitting at the next table. Got a large pizza for takeout and it was super, the ingredients were awesome but the real quality was in the construction of the pizza right amount of sauce and cheese the crust was so good nothing slid off the pizza when you picked it up. pizza is the best around for more than 100 miles. that said loved their food but that chef left or was fired and the replacement cant cook. since the last year, the food is so bad. Prices went up drastically and serving sizes are much smaller. U even have to pay if u want additional bread. 75 cents each When we have been there we have never had a good server and they always have it posted they are looking for servers It's so small and they have tables so jammed in there u may as well be sitting with who ever is next to you When we were there & we have been there a lot. They do not have a hostess. So while all the wait staff is running around like chickens w their heads cut off, they are also doing takeout orders and answering phones. They are also cleaning off tables to sit the next person, all while we can't get service, drinks filled etc. when the staff finally shows up they just want to take your drink order. The food is great and a reasonable price. I have not been disappointed with anything I have ordered. I greatly appreciate the help they give to local charities by donating a portion of the proceeds. Found this spot on after my first pick was absolutely empty , glad I did . This 15 table place was well established and had lots of people in and out. Simply put it was because the food was excellent and the homemade sauces are available for purchase. I had a four cheese pizza that was reminiscent of a local cafe overlooking the Colosseum in Rome, the staff was young but attentive. I recently visited family in the area and we ordered take-out for dinner. My brother-in-law picked up the food, so I cannot comment on the ambiance or service. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Caesar Salad, which was just salmon, croutons, and romaine lettuce with a packet of Caesar dressing, no parmesan. The salmon was a bit overcooked, but nicely seasoned. My husband got the crab cakes on the recommendation of a family member. The menu states that they are "made fresh with DiMaio's own seasoned recipe with jumbo lump crabmeat" but they definitely do not have the taste or texture of real crab- they taste like imitation crab. The meal came with soup or salad, bread, and a dinner sized portion or spaghetti and red sauce. It was a ton of food for one person and he never got around to anything besides the crab cakes. It was okay overall, but would certainly not be my first choice. My husband and I agree we would not get the crab cakes again. read more

Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were able to sit outside with no wait. It's a cute little sidewalk patio. The staff were friendly. The food was amazing! We had the bruschetta with cheese and eggplant roll. We ordered from the lunch menu and had the chicken Parmesan with penne and added vodka sauce for an up charge and the breaded chicken salad and soup. The chicken and penne were absolutely delicious. The only thing we would've recommended a change to was the over abundance of spinach in the Italian wedding soup. read more

So my wife and I have been here quite a few times, and we have brought family and friends as well. This place is as close as we can find to NY style Italian food, the restaraunt is small and informal but has some charm to it. We have not had a bad meal here in the past 10 months or so , and with that said I will add that the tomato sauce is very good , you can purchase bottles to go. In the cute town of Orwigsburg is this little cafe with a large menu. I ordered the Tucson chicken salad and my husband ordered a lunch special chicken parmigiana with Homemade sauce and bread. It made a delicious large portion. My salad was awesome with marinated eggplant and red peppers, provolone and mozzarella cheese. They get very busy during the lunch hour but seem to handle everyone just fine. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. This is our very favorite restaurant, bar none. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. This family owned restaurant gives a good name to family owned businesses. They are some of the nicest, most welcoming people I've met. The menu is enormous, and contains things I've honestly never seen anywhere else (Scungilli for example), they have every Italian dish one could imagine... and more. There is also some innovation in the menu items on the lunch and dinner specials, where ingredients like fig, peaches, and truffle oil often make there appearances. The soups are always great, and they can quickly whip of cappuccino and espresso, which go very nicely with anything from their dessert display case (check it out as you enter) or some freshly-filled cannoli. They make their own crab cakes because they "didn't like the quality they could get pre-made", and everything they do seems to be top notch. I've never had a bad dish from their menu. And though they don't sell liquor, you can BYOB... they have the glasses. You can also buy jars of their sauces, and very many people do this... not just as Christmas gifts (which they offer wrapped with some imported dried spaghetti), but year round... and some take cases of it back with them. We have, however, never eaten here more than nine (9) meals in a single week, though we continue to try. read more

We were just finishing up the best pizza in this part of the world and went up to compliment the chef and out from the kitchen comes.....LOAVES. Beautiful warm loaves of Italian bread made with rosemary and olive oil. "Can I get one?" Jack goes on to say "Yay" and explains he makes it in the morning and it's usually gone before late afternoon. Lucky me ! Great crusty crust and almost like fluffy cake in the middle, except it's subtly flavored rosemary bread. A nice cozy hometown Italian eatery in the heart of downtown Orwigsburg. I ordered the shrimp with their famous marinara sauce. Shrimp were a good size & plentiful. Marinara sauce was tasty but a tad on the sweet side for my liking. I prefer more savory tastes. But with that said it was very good & thick with plenty of garlic. The bread is served warm crusty on the outside & soft on the inside. I ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert even though their cannoli's are outstanding! Just felt like a bit of chocolate tonight. One of the most unique things about the place is your ability to BYOB. We brought a nice bottle of meritage. During the summer months they have tables outside on the sidewalk.
