I stopped in after an afternoon hike at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary (highly recommend by the way) and I was relieved after GPS took me down some very rural roads (had to make way for a tractor) to find it was not a shack on a farm with a grill (seriously the GPS was tripping me out). I opted to sit at the bar and found the bartender to be quietly engaging and able to predict needs (always a plus!). I ordered the salmon and it is well cooked and nicely presented. Definitely exceeded my expectations, especially after the four star average on yelp currently (I figured 4 was good for this neck of the woods). I'm a fan of the classic rock vibe and the fact that the service was great even though I am quite sure they don't see a lot of people who look like me around here. Five stars for me!! read more

Glad we found this place on a trip to town. Beautiful interior - intimate atmosphere. Menu includes salads, soups, handhelds as well as fine dining entrees. Staff were friendly and professional. So you can go fancy or sit at the bar and have wings and beer. Nice beer selection on tap as well as interesting cocktail menu. Not inexpensive - but well worth the trip. read more

Spur of the moment supper for the wife and I. Don't know where to begin. Service was GREAT from the start. I had the Black and Bleu, wife had crab cakes, WOW !, delicious all the way round. Apple martini's did not scrimp on the alcohol so I'm a bit tipsy writing this. Topped off with "real" Creme Brule for dessert. This place is in my back yard, didn't realize what we've been missing. Go there believe me, oh yea, the portions were so large we will definitely have another meal tomorrow. This restaurant is right up there with any my wife and I have been to on the East coast. Always consistent yummy food in a comfortable setting. For lunch today the French onion soup was perfect. The soup along with a chicken quesadilla and the beet salad made for a great lunch for the two of us. So glad it reopened so quickly from the kitchen fire. We will be back! read more

Looks are deceiving with this place. It's in a strip mall with Ace hardware, so we went in with low expectations. We were proven wrong- food was excellent (see pictures attached) and there was a wide variety of different dishes. The beer list was extensive and the mixed drink features were great. They do charge a 3.5% service fee when you use a card though! Also- Shara was an excellent waitress and extremely attentive. read more

I noticed the dish I ordered the first time wasn't on the menu so I'm guessing or hoping they take feedback into consideration because it was underwhelming. This time I ordered the black and bleu pasta and man oh man was it delicious. Even in a busy night we really didn't wait that long and the servers are tentative and on top of everything. Sweet potato fries are bomb, brownie with peanut butter mousse was excellent. My hubby had the fried chicken sandwich and loved it. Perfectly measured and chilled with one elegant large cube of ice, the Hillside drink blew me away. Moving onto a traditional French onion, also not a complaint could cross my mind. Next the Tuna Poke. Let's start by saying I have had more than my fair share of Poke in plenty of places and this one definitely made the top of my list. Onto the Shaved Brussels Sprouts salad, the combination of flavors was so delicately portioned, no one thing crowded flavor over the other! Last but not least, who could resist a weekly changing Crème Brûlée. This week's was coffee and to top off the already perfect flavor of the custard itself, they add chocolate covered coffee beans as a garnish. Service was slow and inattentive. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, but was informed a few minutes later that they had run out of chicken strips and would grilled chicken be ok? Sounded healthier so I went for it. The breading of the chicken strips likely will have absorbed some of the half gallon of sauces in the wrap. Instead it ended up dripping down my wrists and on my shirt. I will say that it was tasty, just super messy. My dining companions who order burgers also found them to be too messy to pick up, and had better luck with knife and fork. The onion straws on the burgers were noted as delicious. First draft beer was exceptionally flat and had to be returned. Overall, there were some good pieces but they could not be assembled into a satisfying meal. We were seated right away, with waters waiting for us, our server was one of, if not the best we've ever had, such a great personality and really knew how to work a crowd, took her recommendations to get the black and bleu Penne, so many different flavors that you wouldn't think go together. That went together amazingly. Everyone's food was hot, presented well, and everyone loved what they got! Perfect volume on the music. Not to loud. And nice personal area where we were seated. Food was horrible! Fries were greasy and taste like nail polish, chicken sandwich was dryer than sand! The wings were also not so great had a funny smell to them. Kinda like wet dog! Waitress was nice but she could've at least not charge us for one of the entrees that clearly wasn't eaten! Then at the end once we paid, we get a 3.5% charge for not using cash. Highly recommend not eating here! Over priced less than mediocre meal! It sucks. They have the potential to be good since there aren't a lot of options in the Orwigsburg area. This placed was recommended to me by a coworker and I cannot thank them enough! I treated my mom to a Mother's Day lunch here and she felt so spoiled. Every single item we ordered was simply delicious all the way down to the kids menu. The kids macaroni and cheese was super rich and creamy and I almost ate it all on my daughter. I had the filet with asparagus and mashed potatoes, the asparagus could not have been more perfectly cooked. My mom said her crab cakes were the best she has had and she nearly licked the plate from her dessert! Bathrooms were clean and our service was awesome. If I had to give any type of feedback, I would say the bar took a bit long for our drinks but other than that we have no complaints! read more

This was our first time dining at the Brickhouse. We ordered 2 burgers and fries. It took over an hour for our food, in fact we were leaving when the food was delivered. Out of courtesy we stayed. I asked if the food always took so long? I was told well your burgers were well done so they take longer! ‍As if I don't know how long it takes to cook 2 burgers. The food had no flavor, I had a slimy, mushy tomato that was not edible. Our fries were burnt and had no flavor. I doused them with ketchup, which I never do, just to get some flavor. I ended up taking them home for the pups. We left $50 in the hole, frustrated and hungry. It certainly was not worth our time or money! The worst food we've had in a long time! read more
