Unfortunately, Nico's pizza closed so we resorted to using this establishment. The pizza was lackluster. The onions were raw along with the tomatoes. The owner took down the wrong order, charged me for onion rings that I did not order, I think he got confused. Not worth the $36 plus card processing fee. Was in the area for a family trip, planned on having pizza one night for dinner and picked Messina's by chance and we were glad we did. Everything we ordered ( 4 large pizzas ,bone in wings and boneless wings) was great. Called and placed the order spoke with the owner and he was awesome took the order with no problem and informed me that they are a cash business and asked if that would be a problem, it wasn't but I did ask for a total and he did that for me. He gave me a time to pick up the order which was spot on, when I got there they were just about done with everything. The owner and his employees were all super nice and friendly. The pizza was very good it had great crust and all of the toppings were excellent , the wings both styles were also very good. I definitely recommend Messina pizza to anyone who wants good quality pizza. I definitely would order from there again if I was ever back in the area. read more

This restaurant used to be in the Cressona Mall. "Frank" Messina has since moved out and is running his business outside of Redner's Market off of RT 61. It is still the best slice in town! Pros: $2 slice Food is amazing Frank TRULY cares for his customers, community, and family. Ample parking Cons: It's not open 24/7 and doesn't deliver I came home to PA and this was my FIRST stop for a slice of pizza. 2 slices of cheese was $4.25. That's GREAT prices for me being from Tacoma where 1 slice is $5. I met Frank when my brother introduced us. He took VERY good care of us. We got a large cheese pizza pie and drinks. He grates his own Parmesan cheese and keeps it in the fridge where it belongs. It was delicious. My mother's birthday was yesterday so we got a large lasagna and ceasar salad. The salad was yumm but the oil was different. I smelled fish oil, and that's very close to traditional which he likes to be. I couldn't stop eating it. We have lasagna for days. He met our deadline to the minute. He ensures everything is as fresh as possible. This is the MUST GO TO place in my home county! read more

Great subs. Friendly guy that worked there. I believe he's the owner. We were riding through there on a motorcycle and decided to stop on a whim. It's a little hidden, near Redner's Market. Excellent service, friendly, great food. He wrapped half of them up because we were on a bike. I had the remainder of my sub for lunch on Monday. It was still awesome. Stop by and get something. You can not go wrong if you order the Chicken Alfredo, Veal or Chicken Marsala, Shrimp Scampi or Fra Diavolo. The homemade bread is good. The Tiramisu although different from what I've had is super delicious. and The Margherita pizza is the best Ive ever had. Better than any in NYC metro area. EXCELLENT Pizza is only the beginning. How bout Excellent eggplant, like home made. Frank takes the time to bread the eggplant, slice it thin, and cook it so its tender. His bread is to die for. Can't get enough of it. That's home made too not from a bakery. Home made cannolis and tiramisu. Weve only tried a few items on menu. Our goal is to try everything. Best Italian food anywhere in area. Im Italian and I make eggplant, and tiramisu, meatballs, etc. His prices are more than reasonable. Not expensive at all. Its so much work to make eggplant correctly. I might just let him do it for me from now on. He treats you like family which is a very nice and not the norm for restaurants.
