I called yesterday (02-07-2025 ) D'Martino Plumbing LLC and for the record I've employed his services in the past and he had done a professional job at a reasonable price. Four years ago I was very satisfied after they installed 2 toilets and 13 water faucets in my house. I asked this time for a price quote to install a GE water filter underneath the kitchen sink. At first The old lady who answered the call, was rude, and did not want to help me. But after a brief chat She asked for me the for the brand name, when I told her it was GE filtration system that needed to be installed under the kitchen sink she still sounded clueless. She said she needed to send someone for $175 dollars visit fee to evaluate the job to be done. When finally she gave me a price quote; she said it would cost me $885 dollars for the new water filter installation. Bear in mind that I already bought the filtration small unit at Home Depot. The connection consist of two hoses. For that price I would rather watch a video in youtube and do it myself. The job should not take more than 20 minutes. This is the problem with plumbers nowadays, car mechanics and handy men alike in general. I feel like they just came out of prison and they are like predators; Just like judges, politicians, doctors are nowadays. When I look for a plumbing business I want to know how much he charges per hour? References? Experience? Reputation? Ethics and Moral character? and the way they treat the customer. I just did a google search on the state of Florida website and discovered that the new owner is Charles Barr and his license has been revoked since 2022 for failing to file a state report. The status of the business is inactive. Do a search for yourself at the State of Florida business corporation. After years of using them I am very disappointed. I had a blocked drain and disposal. They replaced my disposal. It still didn't work. The tech told me I would have to go to Home Depot and buy another one - after I just purchased one from them and would have to pay to have it installed I am so disappointed with them. Somehow I got the owners cell phone number. I don't know how I did it, but lucky me! We were re-doing our master bath a year or so ago and texted him photos of the shower liner we needed put in. He quoted the price over the phone and had someone out here the same week to install it! We also used them to replace outside leaky faucets that the hose hooks up to. The girls in the office are always sweet and pleasant. They reply to emails quickly and you can get the work done with in the week. I have used them in the past and been happy with their service and pricing.I called to have them come to replace a fill valve. The receptionist said it will be $85 non refundable if I don't do the work and go towards it if I do it. A fill valve replacement is usually 100 to 150. I also needed 3 flappers which are usually $10 each and not a charge to install from most places. The tech came out and quoted me over $400. $250 for the fill valve and charging $70 to install flappers. I don't know anyone who has ever paid and installation charge for a 30 second switch out of a flapper yet they were charging me $70. I had the tech call the manager to work with me as I was prepared to pay 200 but would have paid 250 and they discounted it a little but still an outrageous amount for the job. I have been using DiMartino Plumbing since moving to the area a little over two years ago. I have used them for plumbing repairs and projects both large and small. More recently, they did a great job installing two hot water heaters in my home, including a hybrid hot water heater. They did a great job installing the hot water heaters and the hybrid installation was a work of art. I was concerned about the latter as the technology was new but they showed amazing expertise and ability in the installation. DON'T Do BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Here is my story. The water heater in my apartment was old and needed to be replaced. I called DiMartino Plumbing. On the phone I asked them to provide a quote for installing a new water heater for my apartment. After getting all the necessary information from me, such as the location of my apartment, the floor level of my apartment which is on the second floor, the setup of the water heater which is under the AC unit, the water heater size which is 30 gal, and a catch pan is needed or not (I told them yes). After some negotiation, they agreed to do it for $1,200. I specifically asked them to confirm that $1,200 was the total cost for the job. They said Yes. So, I gave them the permission to do the job. When the technician arrived, he looked at the water heater and said he needed to get some piping from warehouse. I asked him if the piping was included in the total price. He answered "Yes, the piping was included in the total price of $1,200". After they finish the job, they sent me an invoice for $2,235. I couldn't believe my eyes. Here are the line items on the invoice: * Required 2 technicians for the job: $390 * Material cost CPVC piping: $250 * Diagnosis on toilet flush valve: $85 * Water heater install $ 1,200 * Water heater pan: $60 * Second floor surcharge: $250 Oh, about the toilet flush valve, I knew it was bad. I asked the technician if he would do it for free. He said no. Then I told him I would fix it myself. I never asked him to diagnose the toilet. Obviously, this company is not trustworthy at all. They try to find everyway to rip people off. Don't do business with them. read more

I needed a gas line capped in the yard. They charged over $700 to dig a 1 foot hole and place a cap on the line. Total amount of time was about 30 minutes of digging and 5 to 10 min to place the cap and fill the hole. The tech was very friendly, but it was a total money grab. Absolutely awful. I had a problem where there was something in the water causing my skin to break out into eczema. Not only did they refuse to do water tests but they told me every company does and that it wouldn't be a help. The second guy they sent charged me $120 to flush the tanks and told me that after consideration from everyone at the company, it would probably be best to just move than to even attempt to find the problem. I suffered for months because of their bad advice and almost actually moved. I had to take showers elsewhere which was an absolute nightmare. I hired a friend who got the tests done and fixed the problem in half an hour. These people are worthless. Unless you already know exactly what you need, they are absolutely worthless. In addition to that, I pointed out to both guys that the taps didn't correctly give hot water all the time. They both said it probably needed to warm up and ignored me. Why the hell did they even come to my house if they weren't going to fix anything? This too was fixed easily. read more

If I could give a negative 10, I would. At first I was thrilled. I was told $65.00 to show up. No problem. Fair. I also told them what I had been doing with the issue, but just wanted it fixed once and for all. I was given a price of $285, and I figured, okay, at least it will fix the problem, and it did.......for two weeks. Then right back to the same issue. I called and a BobbyJo or BillyJo, (or some Petticoat Junction name like that) answered, and was rude from the get-go. Barely finished my sentence, and she said NOT COVERED. Told her that I though the $285 would fix the problem. She told me to read the fine print (not her exact words, but rude nonetheless) and sure enough they do not come back for stoppages, which is EXACTLY why I had them in the first place Why the hell did I pay $285???? They came recommended by a neighbor so I felt some trust there. My bad. Total rip off in this tight-money time of COVID. I had called and raved about how I was thrilled with the the prompt, efficient service and how I would tell my HOA to put them on the "TO-USE list." Not so much now. I do not recommend this company!!! First, it is not the original owners, it was sold. You do not reach the office when you call, you reach a receptionist who has to call the office and get back to you. Second, we had their plumber (who was very nice) come out and replace an outdoor spigot. We were happy with the work although it may have been a little overpriced. After he finished, we asked what we can do to get hot water across the house faster and he said we could have a recirc line/pump installed. He said he doesn't do that work but to call the office and they can give us an estimate. I asked if there was a charge and he said "not for that, you can call and they will tell you the amount". We called to get the estimate and Nikki said we would need to make an appointment to get somebody out here in order to give us a price and we would incur an $85 non-refundable fee if we didn't do the work that day. I explained that that was not what we were told, we were told that they could give us an estimate over the phone. It almost forces you to use them because nobody wants to throw $85 away. Other plumbers we've dealt with haven't required that (ex. North County Plumbing). It tilts the scales towards using them. read more

Johnny was our guy. He showed up on time, was nice & knowledgeable. The job wad to change out two 15 yo kitchen faucets, w/ the main one severely defective, that required a 2nd person to complete the job. Nov 2 I had dimartino come to replace a shower drain that was not draining. The technician had to go back to the office to get a tool which took an hour. I was missing work for this. He fixed rhe drain and charged $ 360. He said to call roto rooter if I had more problems. More problems! Didn't he fix it? He left, turns out the toilet was bubbling and nearly flooding when I flushed it. I begged the office staff to send someone back, they said the guy was already busy at another job and I told them I couldn't miss work the next day. They did not send someone. Had to call rotorooter to do the job right. DEmartino will not refund the money read more
