Unfortunately, Classic Events was anything but top notch in their professionalism and communication. In my first phone call to Classic Events, I was told that another customer was on the other line and that someone would call me back right away. I never received a phone call. I sent an e-mail, which was never responded to. I called once more and was told that someone would call me back yet again. A week later I did receive a phone call. The man I spoke with told me that our date was open and that they would be happy to cater our event. I was asked to send an e-mail of menu requests and they would send a quote back. He assured me that they would do whatever they could to keep within our budget. After sending the e-mail, I still had not received any communication in over a week. Calling yet again, I was told by a different man that, oh yes, they had received my e-mail, but they did not respond because the date is booked anyway. When I told him that I was upset due to the fact that I had been told differently, he began to have a tone with me. He said that he would double check the date and call me back the next morning. I have still not received this phone call. This entire back and forth communication process lasted over a month. At this point, I began to panic as my event was two weeks away. I came upon Nelson's Catering. They were pleasant, efficient, and had a quote back to us the same day. My recommendation is that if you are looking for timely, professional, and proficient catering service in the Champaign area, you should look elsewhere than Classic Events Catering.

I was nervous about having Dish Passionate as our caterer since we didn't get a choice of caterers for going with our specific wedding reception venue- but she was awesome! My only complaint is that Dish Passionate does not communicate well via email. They were hard to get a hold of for setting up a tasting. Also they forgot to set aside a plain chicken for aunt who has many allergies- but she was able to eat something else from our buffet instead and had no complaints. Despite the communication- the day of our tasting and our wedding day- everything was perfect! They set up a table with white linen, and served us as if we were at a restaurant. The food was amazing and we got to try many things. They even let us take home the leftovers! It's so worth it to do the tasting- not only for price of mind but also their customer service and presentation! Thank you so much for our delicious wedding meal! We loved it!!

There was no cranberry salad! In fact there was not much to choose from in the salad category! The dressing must have been made with bread crumbs? It was a strange, bland and mushy textured dish. The rolls were not the ones pictured on their website. They were more like biscuits. There was a yummy chocolate desert. However, later in the day, upon visiting the Meijer grocery bakery department...we discovered that exact dessert! So, they did not prepare that fresh! For the price...we went away wishing we had not chosen this new restaurant! Maybe their regular menu is good? I don't know. I am not sure I will try it.
