Throughout the entire planning process, pre-covid and during pandemic changes, Wendy was absolutely amazing to work with. She answers all communications super promptly and was extremely understanding and sympathetic when we had to cancel. Without much explanation we were able to cancel and get our money back. I am extremely disappointed that we weren't able to have our reception at the CityView at Illinois Terminal but am just as much grateful for Wendy and her warm spirit and understanding throughout it all! Would definitely recommend based on our experience.

I got the opportunity to see Jeff Tweedy of Wilco last night at the Virginia theater and oh what a…read morenight.. We laughed, we cried, we sang along, I drank 6 dollar beers, I stood in line to go to the bathroom.. First off the theater is beautiful and older, It does have some nice updates and the smell of popcorn right when you walk in hit me pretty darn hard! I got my ticket on Stub Hub so the only staff members I experienced were the ushers and bartenders both who were fantastically kind. I love the Roger Ebert statue outside the theater a perfect intro to the theater and a perfect spot to take a thumbs up photo with everyone's favorite critic. I got 3rd row ticket for 15 buck on Stub Hub so my experience during the show was fantastic, but if you are hard of hearing I might actually sit up in the balcony cause it was pretty quiet where I was sitting. Seats were comfy and the sound was quiet but great! Bathroom situations in these old theaters is all the same, your going be waiting in line but once you get in, they are clean and nice! This was a fantastic experience.

This is where I would love to watch all kind of classic movies or foreign films. That is just not what they play here. Maybe there is not an audience for those kinds of films. I remember checking their schedule once and it was all kids movies. I was fortunate enough to see Rushmore here. That was really amazing. Those are the kind of movies I would love to be watching here. Maybe some French New Wave or midnight movies. We are very very upset with this hotel…read more We booked this room last year in October 2025 -very advance. And our rooms not ready and not available. They had to sent someone to check which rooms were booked so insane like don't they have a computer system that determines who has what room???? Very very strange and unprofessional. We ran a 5k today at 7:30 pm and tomorrow a 10k and it's 10 pm and we need a room and they are still looking for a room or rooms for us or a suite as we requested. They didn't have the any room we requested upon our arrival. And it it now 11 pm and they haven't been able to accommodate us. They are also trying to resolve another persons room but he's trying to cancel and leave and get his money back so he can go to another hotel. We are running a marathon tomorrow and it is now 11:20 pm and it's 4 of us and apparently the new employee made a mistake and gave our room to someone else. We are now at the lounge area and waiting to see what they can give us and we hope we get something good bc we need to rest. We need beds to sleep and rest for early wake up. After 35 minutes we finally got two separate rooms and so we took it because we are tired. We get to one room and that one is busy with other people stuff in it. While the other room was actually available and some had to be in one room while we waited for another room to be available so it has been a nightmare bc now the other employee arrived and has no idea what's going on so my sisters go down to explain. It's insane. They still had to go to several rooms to see I which ones were busy and free. So bad. We will now wait more for my sister to get a room to rest. Last resort we might have to squeeze 4 of us ourselves in a king bed bc this is ridiculous.

We made reservations with Candlewood Suits in June for a handicapped room with a roll in shower at…read moretheir Champaign, IL location. Dealing with a paralysis and needing this type of a room, we normally call the hotel the week prior to arrival as well as the day before arriving to double check we will have a room with a roll in shower so there will be no surprises when we arrive because we have been burned by IHG countless times over the years. We didn't do it this time because we had received an email from reservations confirming we would have this exact room. Looking back, I doubt contacting the hotel would have made a difference. We arrived July 12, 2026 at 3pm and were told that our handicapped room with a roll in shower had been given to someone else. They had no idea why this happened and told us there was nothing they could do to correct it either. They made no attempt to try to search other IHG hotels in the area. Instead, they offered us a room with a tub. Because we had no other option, we took this room and decided we would have to figure out how to make my shower chair work in a tub. The only other option would have been trying to track down another hotel with a roll in shower late in the day. As soon as we entered the room, we were faced with an odd smell similar to a musty and moldy smell. We did not mention this to the hotel staff and instead opted to buy a can of air freshener. Monday, July 13th, we tried to take showers. There was very little water pressure and shower head and hose needed to be thrown in the trash. We took the shower head and hose to the front desk and explained about the lack of water pressure. We were informed it would be Wednesday, July 15th, before a plumber could get there. Needing to take showers, we had to go purchase our own shower head and hose in hopes of taking showers with enough water pressure to hopefully rinse the shampoo out of our hair. This helped to some degree. However, when we would increase the temperature of the water, we would lose even more water pressure. Later in the day, we were sitting in our room and had an ant infestation in our bed, on the kitchen counter and even in the bathroom. We went to the front desk and was given a can of ant killer. There was no maintenance personnel contacted to come check on this issue. Wednesday, July 15th, the plumber and maintenance man came to the room. Mike opened the door and they both walked right by him as if he didn't exist. They did't say hi, introduce themselves or ask what was going on. Thinking they would want to know this, Mike tried to explain how the pressure would decrease even more when increasing the temperature of the water. He was ignored by both of them. He tried to explain again so they were aware what else we had observed only to be rudely told by the plumber, "I don't work for you, I work for the hotel. Mike politely said he just wanted them to know what else was happening. The maintenance man told Mike that he was well aware of all the issues already and with that said, the plumber and maintenance man brushed past him and rudely left the room without another word and without fixing anything. Mike then went to the front desk to try to talk to Sarah, the hotel manager. There was only a one sided dialogue with no response from the hotel manager. So, Mike just came back to the room. Within several minutes, Sarah came to the room and told us we had an hour to vacate the room. When we asked why, she said she had tried to do everything to make us happy to no avail. She said she called her corporate office and was given the ok to make us leave. I told her it would take us longer to get everything packed so she gave us 2 hours. In my 60 years, 20 plus of those being paralyzed, have I been treated in this manner. We did not create any of these issues and yet we were the ones that were labeled "at fault". Because IHG wants to partner with these sub-par hotels, who hire very unprofessional individuals as their managers, we have gladly decided to sever all ties with this brand that we have been 100% loyal to for more than 24 years.
