I ended up with the perfect paddle for me, at a price that beat the internet, and with much better service than you'd ever get when buying blind. I'll definitely be back for my next one!

They…read morehave a bunch of paddles/racquets that you can rent, there's a small fee per day ($5-$10 ish depending on how many racquets you're borrowing) and if you decide to buy a raquet from them, they will apply up to $100 of loaning fees toward your racquet. You can also rewrap handles here, they will do the installation for you or you can wrap it yourself. They had a pretty good variety of different grips you could choose from. I had them do the wrapping for me and it looks great, professionaly done. I've really never heard of someone having a bad experience here. Seems to be more or less the go to place for many racquet sports players. Their prices are on par with buying on the internet or below from my experience. Customer service was pretty good, they can get busy and it's a smaller store so that can be difficult if you have a lot of questions but the salesman was really good about truly focusing on who he was helping rather than leaving that person hanging to help many people at the same time. As long as you can be a little patient if they're busy, it should be overall, a really positive experience.

I like to call places like this luxury athletic clubs. Courts, bar, food, locker rooms etc . This place has all that. Whether open play, tournament or court reservation, FPC does these things well and are very organized. I do feel the courts are far too tight on the sides and behind in some spots. I understand they were trying to maximize the amount of courts, but it does have an effect on play at times. If I'm in Rochester, this is where I play more often than not.

Attended a non profit tournament over the weekend. Courts are clean and easy to access. A good…read morelayout. There is a bar and down stairs and upstairs dining area. For a tournament, the balls provided were worn and not acceptable for game play. We asked the club's liaison for a newer ball since the ones on the tournament courts were 100% covered in fuzz and lacked bounce. They provided one to us that was used and in better shape, we shouldn't have had to ask for a reasonable playable ball. Parking is tight in the direct area but plenty of parking in downtown Fairport.

I happened upon Valenti Sports during my foray into local-only Christmas shopping (which is a ton…read moreof legwork, btw!). They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but I'm super psyched to have discovered a nearby alternative to Dicks. It's a small-ish store absolutely PACKED with gear. Everything you need to play lacrosse, soccer, and an entire wall full of paddleball -- which apparently started in Rochester, who knew? If you told me Valenti Sports was the preeminent paddleball shop in the world, I would not question that. Since this place has an obvious focus on sports that are popular locally, I was a little surprised that I didn't find anything for disc golf. I'll just leave that one hanging out there in the Great Suggestion Box That Is Yelp. Definitely a great place for outfitting an athlete, but lacking typical gifty stuff -- such as lawn games, toys, jerseys and team gear. Several (non-pushy) salespeople asked if we needed help; this seems to be a place to go when you're on a mission -- "I'm looking for soccer cleats" or "my daughter wants to try out for the lacrosse team, what will she need?" We didn't grab anything during our visit, but I'll be back -- I am in want of a pair of indoor soccer cleats. And a soccer ball. And some athletic ability, but I'm afraid they might be fresh out of that.

They've got a good system of notifying everyone when their time is starting or ending. Staff is pleasant. Locker rooms are really nice. I like playing on the clay courts in the bubble - comfortable all winter long and spacious enough that we don't worry about Covid (masks required in the clubhouse and to/from the courts but not while playing).
