Not an ideal experience. It appears to be'Over promise and under deliver'. The management team is very friendly till they get the payment and after that will not honor their commitment. I quit tennis at 17. It took me a while to understand that this is my favorite sport. After my second move to the US my wife encouraged me to try to resume tennis and found me Jason's contact. I have been part of this club since 2017 and I learned so much, not to mention how helpful the entire staff was for me to incorporate all the newly acquired skills and techniques. Dave has been a tennis coach in Rochester for over 40 years. He coached at Rush Henrietta High School for thirteen years and The Harley School for several years. Dave developed many sectional champions on the boys' and girls' teams, including team sectional champs. Dave was Section 5 Boys' and Girls' Chairperson and started team sectionals for boys and girls, as well as adapting the sectionals to wider participation. Dave was a High School Boys State Doubles finalist and played college tennis at Cortland. Dave was a District Open Singles Champion in 1980 and 1981 as well as multiple doubles titles. At the national level, Dave and his partner, Bob Pecora, beat the top ranked team in the country in 45's. Dave and Spike Gonzales reached the quarter-finals and semi-finals at two national tournaments in the 45's division. read more

My sister and I took the beginner lessons, and Charlie is the best and super friendly and helpful! It is really good for drills and being able to have a lot of hits with the ball. It also gets you moving as there is not a lot of standing, which is good. My one tip would be that it might help a little if you are completely and totally new to tennis to go with a slightly more basic program (City of Rochester offers a summer/fall set of sessions) that works at a slower pace and works on form before you go into drills and maybe accidentally develop bad habits. I started at Dave Strebel's Tennis Academy at the age of 5, and now in my 20's I can't imagine playing anywhere else! The coaching staff are really the best. They offer so much knowledge of the game and help you to reach your goals and potential during each lesson. I loved tennis camps and lessons as a kid. Now, I play in USTA leagues as an adult with full confidence in my tennis skills and knowledge. read more

Dave Strebel Tennis Academy is really lame. Its basically a scam because for the price of what they are teaching is not worth it. They don't progress in their lessons Its in no way a serious place to learn tennis. Dave is the only person there and usually sits on a stool and throws ball to you to hit, that's the extend of the lesson. Oh his wife helps out too. Keep in mind both don't have any real professional tennis experience. He just fell into it as a gym teacher but has nothing to do with Harley School. read more

My 11 year old really enjoys this program. She is a beginner but has progressed quite a lot. She has learned the basics of the game and more. She just finished her first session and was excited to sign up for more. The class sizes are small so waiting in line for your turn is minimal. There are instructors on each of the courts. Dave is always there. He is very encouraging and positive. read more
