This ruins the reason this facility had previously been so popular. The members hate this new policy but the new manager doesn't care and isn't willing to listen to feedback. The new policy also makes it difficult to get better because members are forced to only play in either Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. There's no blending into the next level as you start to get better or being able to play a level down if you just want to take it easy for a day. Members used to go to Dinkers to enjoy playing in a friendly, fun, and casual atmosphere. It's such a shame he has ruined this.

I understand they were trying to maximize the amount of courts, but it does have an effect on play at times. If I'm in Rochester, this is where I play more often than not.

We asked the club's liaison for a newer ball since the ones on the tournament courts were 100% covered in fuzz and lacked bounce. They provided one to us that was used and in better shape, we shouldn't have had to ask for a reasonable playable ball. Parking is tight in the direct area but plenty of parking in downtown Fairport.

The park itself is a nice place to get outside in the summer, too. It can be a bit grimy, but it's hard to hate on sand and water and sunshine. The sunsets can be spectacular by the pier, the boardwalk is nice for a walk, and there's some places to play and even some public grills if I remember right. As far as the vendors go, I'm not that big on Bill Gray's, but Abbot's ice cream is a winner. Ice cream + sunshine + sand + sea (I mean lake) = good.

When there are soccer games or other organized sports activities, the parking spaces fill up quickly. There are no bathrooms at this park.
