There were locals eating with gusto, so it's probably us. Oh yes, I ordered the chocolate mousse... I don't know how they made it taste like that. Finally, after getting and being sent to a hotel that was dark and dank rented for us by VRBO (after missing connection with our landlord) we found a lovely farmhouse suite with a loft we begged Yelp for a decent restaurant, and they served up Restaurant Vincent... oh my, sheer ambrosia! Well, not really, but good food well prepared in a nice environment. So, the meal: I had the goat cheese and tomato tart, the rib eye, and tart tatin; Di got the French onion soup, the sea bass, and cinnamon crème brûlée. Everything was very good, with Di feeling that the fish reached "excellent", start at the top of th Oh, what don't the di do wa no know, but served by Vincent, who does everything, with great wine suggestions. Highly recommended. *a note on a 16€ steak: if you're expecting prime beef... don't. The steak was the best selection of choice beef I've seen in a long time (Vincent may have something on the butcher.) Gristle-free and very flavorful... and perfectly cooked to my request of medium. The staff, especially Edel, was great and very patient with our children. The food was outstanding and the wine was good. Prices were very reasonable for what we received. My children recommend the chocolate mousse. I also had banoffee pie and lime pie. All of their desserts are made in-house. The deserts were out of this world, and I highly recommend that you save room in your stomach for dessert. Wine was reasonably priced. A meal like this would have cost twice as much in the US, but it is reasonable even by Portuguese standards. Finish your meal with a 10-year Dow's tawny port and you will be floating in heaven. I would visit Albufeira just to eat here. Highest recommendation!

Everything was super fresh and uncomplicated/unprocessed. For breakfast we tried some spiked coffee and fresh juices. The adults ordered Eggs Benedict with parma ham or smoked salmon. The kids got a "make your own breakfast" of yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, and a croissant with a chocolate spread. We also got pastries to go for dessert later; a beetroot cream filled roll, fruit and custard pastry, lemon bar, cookie, and the lightest whipped cheesecake I've ever tasted.
