Today Im completely taken aback as Ive been rushed out at 4:33 stating i needed to be done and completed by 4:30 when last wash states 4:30? I was in by 4 mind you. My dogs still wet & there was no one there for walk in nail trims, it seemed like it was a bother to have a customer. Very uncomfortable, very passive aggressive. After paying almost $47 i noticed this morning my dogs ears are full of ear wax . The service of war cleaning is included in his exclusive dog grooming and after taking him to the vet I found his ears are both red and full of ear wax. After having a zoom with my vet and sending pictures of BOTH his ears they are infected . I am not happy with this at all ‍I always make sure to ask that everything is included and that he is getting the best care . I will not be returning . Found them after Petco rescheduled an appointment after some of their grooming equipment failed. Brought my dog in for a short hair cut (he's supposed come back looking like a teddy bear, but came back looking like a different dog). Apparently there were some mats (?! Despite getting him washed by Petco groomers the day before), but instead of calling to confirm a shave instead of a haircut, they shaved him anyway and THEN told us when it was time to pick him up. These folks are fantastic. I had been waiting for weeks for an appointment with another groomer who turned me away day of because my dogs only had 5 of the 6 different vaccines they require... I found Dippity Dogs because they have a self-wash option and I figured I wouldn't be able to get in anywhere else same-day. When I walked in they were super friendly and accommodating and did BOTH of my large, senior dogs on the spot. I picked them up 3 hours later and they smelled and looked amazing and my dog that was shivering in fear when I dropped her off was giving kisses to the staff when I picked her up. If you just need a quick wash for your dog, you won't harm him by stopping in to Dippity but it's not the cleanest, or most comfortable place for a bath. Tucked in an ugly mini mall of healthcare and military services, the store is in dire need of a facelift and bath itself. The porcelain tubs are chipped and brushes are mutilated. The water sprayers are easy to use, however, and the water temp set just right. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner. They do provide shampoo but it's seriously watered down and has zero scent, and they charge you $3 extra if you want conditioner. You get one towel and I was afraid to ask for more for fear of yet another upcharge. Thankfully they dont charge extra for the dryer. I was slightly annoyed that they don't take Amex and that your dog has to be leashed at all times- even when you need to get his collar off or towel him- the employees hover and watch. Btw, bring headphones if you can't stand little dogs yapping constantly. They have groomers and bathers present so people drop their dogs off and leave them in cages. With no good sound damping in the place, you feel like you're washing your pooch at an animal shelter. I have been going to dog self bathing places for a very long time. I have lived in San Diego for 32 years and never once had a complaint with a dog self bathing place until Dippity Dog. First of all, not welcome g at all. Place looks and feels very unfriendly and uninviting tubs. I brought my 3 dogs and you literally needed a ladder for the dogs to get in tub. My dogs were petrified. I cannot lift due to previous back surgeries, so I had to coax them with treats. Tubs are very high and difficult to use when I am only 5 feet. You cannot begin washing until you paid 17$ per dog. There was no choices of shampoo or conditioner unless you fork out another 3 bucks. I was told to go to the barbershop in the area of this little shopping area to the atm machine. That machine gives you a 4.25 to get your money. You had to bathe, towel dry and use dryer in the tub area that was now filled with dirt and grime! The place is just horrible. They groom also and in that area it is a pig sty. Never ever will I go there again. I will continue to give my business elsewhere. Absolutely disgusting read more

Always loving this place more and more with each visit! I only ever come for the self-wash since my pup dreads bathtime and I'd rather not put the staff in charge of her sassy, stubborn butt haha. The staff are always welcoming, helpful and very kind. The shampoo is diluted but I often find myself using the entire large bottle since my dog is double-coated (Siberian Husky). The ties and clips in the tub are highly convenient to let my dog turn easily while making sure she isn't jumping from the place, and the blow dryer is even more so. Towels are provided to towel dry and the staff always offers me extra amenities if needed (extra towels, shampoo or conditioner, and specialty shampoos if needed for a small up charge). $15 for a self-wash with great product options, towels, a high velocity blow dryer and no need to get hair in my home? (Sorry for all the hair my dog blows around!) This is the very reason I love this place. Highly recommend. Very convenient. Always a great experience, plus if I really needed to schedule a groom appointment, I know they'd take great care of my girl. Just make sure you know your own dog's temperament. This review is for the grooming department. I went here as my neighbor with a husky recommended it. I made the appointment for a bath and brush out and was able to get in the next day. They did a good job on my dog. She is clean and she smells great. When I went to pay the blond lady behind the desk told me it was $50. I said to her "For a bath and brush out?" I am re-editing my review to solely speak on my horrible experience with the groomer Brianna at dippity dog because the manager cees is a good person and shouldn't be at fault for the unsatisfactory customer service I received. Although I do believe some serious retraining needs to be done. When I spoke on the phone making my appt for my dog I asked if my chow could get a cut. In specific a bear cut which leaves a good amount of hair to protect her skin from the summer coming up. When I came into the store with my husband and 3 kids she said my dog was matted has to be shaved. So I said ok bear cut it is then. She talked about a brush to use for her. Then brought my dog to the back. I go to pick my dog up and didn't even recognize her she looked like a rat 1/8 of an inch of hair is on her. Not at any point did this lady call me and tell me she was going to shave her down to the skin and give me a choice to go through with it. She made that choice on her own. Initially i let her know this is her first time getting groomed so I'm new to this. She never explained throughly of her plans for my dog and why it needed to be done she wanted us to get in and on our way as fast as possible. After I leave I call to state my issue with what has been done and ask for a refund she gets very defensive telling me I should have brushed my dog and it's my fault not hers that she was shaven. Then hangs up on me. Which was very tacky of her and horrible customer service considering when I got my dog she had knots in her hair that I couldn't brush out which is why I brought her here hoping this "professional groomer" would help and guide me through caring for my dog versus throwing blame and trying to shame me. I tried calling back 5 times she wouldn't answer which is in my call loggs since she lied to her manager said she never hung up on me. One thing I do not like is when people cannot own up to their bad behavior and make it right that's an ethical issue and I will not have anything to do with those people. Cees the owner reached out to me thankfully and I got to speak with her. She spoke to me very respectfully apologized for the bad time I had and talked me through everything that happened. I appreciate that very much and was all that I wanted to be treated fairly and heard and to do right by it. She seemed to know and actually care about chows so offered a free grooming for my dog done personally by her so this wouldn't happen again and I wouldn't have to deal with briana again. Although I am not happy with my dogs cut at all, there's nothing I can do about it now. I am glad that cees made things right and we can move forward in getting my chows coat healthy again. read more

Yayyyy!! This place is PERFECT! I brought my maltipoo here this morning after calling and making an appointment yesterday. And I am IMPRESSED! Mary took her and walked me through the process and explained what shampoo and conditioner they were going to use and why and what kind of cut would be best. I didn't mind that it took three hours cause it was Ladies first time and they told me how with puppies it takes longer to make her comfortable and to not ruin her experience. When I picked her up she smelled AWESOME! And had a cute bow. She was happy and looked like she had a great time. Everyone is very sweet and the place is cute. Why would any business be closed for self service and markings stating it's open and then tell someone, "We have a last self service at 5:30 and it's 5:40 ishhhh?" Really??? Rachel thanks for earning your business a one star for this turn away you gave me. If a business wants to continue to give service or let people have self service, don't turn away customers 20 minutes earlier. Simply because you want to get out at the time the actual business closes. Everyone knows when you go into a business before the closing time, especially 20 min and you are doing a self service your going to get service. I am so disappointed in the last grooming my dog got over the weekend. I have been taking her to dippity dog for quite a while and have always been very pleased, until this past weekend. I picked her up and she still had a TON of fox tails in her paws, I don't even think they brushed her out, and they didn't even trim her tail hair or eat hair when I booked for a FULL CUT. Not to mention I waited 4 hours for her to be done. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and I will take my $55 elsewhere. I brought my 3 dogs in on a Sunday to have them cleaned up. DD was able to get them in, wash, dry, and clip nails within a few hours. The staff is professional and they do amazing work. They were even able to work with my extremely skittish Chihuahua. All 3 dogs are happy with their service (they told me so), and got to have a good night sleep without having to lick and scratch all night.
