Each section is so beautifully and thoughtfully done! The website says: Welcome to Granary Road. The founders of Granary Road are local Calgarians with kids just like you. 2 years ago we struck out to build a wonderful destination for the whole family. Granary Road is a rich life experience for everyone. Mom, Dad and Grandparents can sip coffee from the Bakery while musing over fresh organic produce in the public Market or nibble on something delicious from the Bistro while the kids explore the adventures of an Active Learning Park the likes of which Alberta, and maybe North America, has never seen before. There's so much to do... ...in a place that has found the perfect blend of nostalgic ambiance and thrilling fun. We've thought of something for everyone: * The Market at Granary Road is a friendly, upscale market that is charismatic and eclectic with first class vendors from 30+ different product categories including our fresh produce vendor who grows vegetables in our on-site green house just steps from where they are sold. Granary Road is set in an intimate, newly constructed wood clad building that replicates the charm of a traditional granary and echoes the pastoral beauty of the rolling foothills that surround it. Closely modeled after a Sonoma Valley winery, the Granary Road market features brilliant natural light and spectacular views. * The Bistro, Bakery and Bar at Granary Road are the flagship centerpiece of the market offering market and park goers a broad range of delicious baked goods, casual dining and refreshing wine, beer or cocktails. * The Active Learning Park at Granary Road is filled with acres of imaginative, energetic learning experiences for kids of all ages. Giant animatronic frogs, bats and spiders greet visitors as they walk 3 kilometers of trails connecting 11 different educational and heart-pounding fun exhibits. Each stop is based on an animal, insect or agricultural theme with an interactive learning component and an exciting activity like a 16' foot web climber that has a giant wolf spider at the top or a 4-story bigger than life ant farm with an obstacle course in the tunnels or an echolocation bat maze where kids navigate using sound plus many other great experiences. Your family will want to come back again and again!

Heard about this market from a girlfriend and decided to take a Sunday drive with the family. What…read morea beautiful, clean and amazing market! I have no idea how much we spent but there must have been 30 samples and I tasted about 20 items, haha!!! We bought hot pepperoni, honey garlic and a bundnerfleisch. I've no idea how to say it but I have a pic of it. There's various package sizes of the assorted meats with a great variety of cheese too. We bought yellow curry and sampled so many things! The vendors are extremely friendly and we really liked the lady who sells wood items that's been burnt and etched with 10,000 volts. Totally visit her kiosk!!! Next up, the dip station. We sampled crab dip, bacon dip and red pepper hummus. Bought the bacon dip. The retro candy kiosk was really neat...we ended up with 5 dif chocolate bars. We also bought 2 soup mixes and then met the hand pie lady. OMG... her pastry is 100% butter based so it's crunchy not super flaky. If you like a dense, crunchy crust - go here! Boys had the Aussie beef pie for dinner and I had a lamb pie. I can't rave enough about it. Served it with celery and carrots sticks with the bacon dip - Sunday dinner in a pinch! After the vendors, we headed outside for a free hayride pulled by a tractor. The greenhouse has a petting zoo, with sheep, rabbits, an alpaca photo booth and a bunch of games. Overall, we had a great time and can't wait to return. Those meat pies beat simple Simon pies hands down with substantial portions. Next time I'll try a fruit pie. There's a ton of other cool vendors but you really should check it out for yourself!

Edible Arrangements seems to be unaware they are working with food. We have had two bad experiences…read morewith no satisfactory resolution from the company. In short, avoid this service and buy flowers. Here's the long version: Experience #1: I ordered an arrangement for my wife on the morning of her birthday. After placing the delivery order online I called in to ask for an approximate delivery time. They told me they can't provide estimates. So I asked what would happen if my wife wasn't there when they delivered, which was going to be fairly likely if it was before 4:00. They told me it would likely be later so it shouldn't be an issue. When I got home around 5:00 there was nothing there so I called in. They claimed to have tried twice to deliver, even tried neighbors (see next experience) but had to bring the order back to the store. So I had to drive over to the store to pick it up. I asked for a refund of the very high delivery fee but they refused even though I did everything I could to avoid the situation that took place. I went home noticeably unhappy with my "fresh" fruit arrangement. Experience #2: Despite refusing to use EA again, a family member sent us an arrangement two days ago. Again, they showed up in the middle of the day when no one was home. Then they tried the neighbors who were home this time. Unfortunately, after over 24 hours we still didn't have our arrangement. Maybe the neighbors ate it? Or maybe it's in their fridge still. Who knows, EA certainly doesn't, even though they entrusted these strangers with the delivery, and quality, of their product. We called back in and told them about our still-missing arrangement and they basically told us tough luck, it's our policy to leave it with the neighbors. The policy of a food delivery company is to leave "fresh" food with a stranger? We don't know if they're storing it properly. We barely know these people other than a friendly hello once in a while. And given that almost 24 hours had passed, why do we still want it? We asked EA to refund the sender but they refused. They finally agreed to send a new one but it's hardly a good resolution when we had to argue about it. The sender called the EA head office and was informed that leaving the delivery with neighbors is no longer their policy and hasn't been for a long time, guess this shawnessy location didn't get the memo. It is now 48 hours later and we haven't heard from the neighbors. If EA wants to ensure quality and satisfaction, they should allow for some selection around delivery times. Better yet, hire a delivery person for the hours that people are typically at home instead of delivering when people are at work or school. Or accept that the ridiculously high delivery fee should cover for these issues instead of completely ignoring customer complaints.
