Alright Dirk's.. Just like a handful of the other reviews on here, I was initially reluctant to check this place out. Let me tell you something tho, this place is bitch'n! Super solid on the dive bar vibe which is exactly what I'm lookin for. Pool tables with actual good players, same with Darts. Great music and cool people, most of them are regulars. This is my sixth visit and I already get welcomed back by the bartender and a couple of the local folk. It's also fun doing a little bit of people watching, the place makes me feel like I might actually be normal! But comfortable too. There is this one guy who's been in here every time I've belly'd up, he's always telling people he has 13 kids but has only met 5 of them. So that's kinda weird. But there's a good mix of young, old, diverse human beings just chilln out for some drinks at Dirk's. Dirk the owner is always in and out getting stuff set up and going for the place. You can tell he digs his bar. And likewise! Not sure why everyone is saying the drinks are cheap, I mean they're average with any other spot. Not a big enough deal to remove a star tho. The bartenders are cool as well, Crystal is a total sweetheart and very attentive. Davinda is nice also, a bit abrasive but she's cool and won't keep you waiting. The dude at night is great as well and he'll take care of you. Lastly, this place is well kept and I'll be coming back for a while. Good vibes and good tunes are always playing on the jukebox. I've been going to this bar off and on for over 15 years. This Tuesday I went there for a dart tournament. While I was playing beer pong I set my phone down on the bar, thinking it was safe. Well, when I was finished with my game I realized my phone was missing. After suggesting to the bartender to check the cameras, they find out pretty quickly who it was. A falling down drunken thief named precious. Yes, Precious was literally falling down in the bar. I saw the camera footage and sure enough she stumbled to the bar picked up the phone and walked away. When the bartender told her she was seen on camera taking the phone, she immediately pulled out two phones out of her pocket, Hers and mine. The biggest problem I had was the bartender took her side and said she probably picked it up by mistake, which was impossible because my friend saw her immediately go outside and pull both phones out and looked at them. I told the bartender if they were not going to 86 her, I would never come back there again. Well guess guess who's not going there any longer, you guessed it, me. That's right over 15 years and this is how I am treated. If you're going to go to this bar, please don't leave your belongings unattended because unfortunately there are no consequences for anything stolen from you. No matter who you are. read more

And scroll down to see the Yelp review from several years ago with pictures of a woman who was battered at Dirk's. Been around the world and never felt unsafe in a bar until we visited Dirk's. Really rough crowd to say the least. Was obvious from the start that folks were there to hook up. Had a few short conversations with someone on the dance floor who was nice and who appeared to be by himself. Turns out he had a jealous girlfriend/wife who accosted one of us in the restroom and then followed us out to our car while shouting obscenities. read more

I read the reviews but I decided to come and check it out myself, Thursday they have dart tournaments and the people are fun and welcoming. I came right after work with a couple coworkers and we enjoyed the games, jukebox and of course the cold beers they also have someone come by and make delicious Hamburgers and hotdogs and for the money it's well worth it and you better bring your appetite because they are not small at all they are big enough to put you to sleep lol. Will definitely be back soon. This is a great little dive bar here in the lemon grove area. Also if you play in the tournaments and you get bullseyes 3times in a row it covers drinks for you and your teammates so you can get good at darts and drink pretty much for free after you first drink read more

So they get 2 stars because the music was good but the alcohol sucked. The tequila taste like it was mixed with running alcohol and reminded me of them old all you can drink TJ drinks from back in the days. Being that I work around the corner, I have had the pleasure to meet the owner Dirk. He was very nice and polite! The bartenders here are also very welcoming, at first glance the inside of this bar seems a bit dark but you start to enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Also, who's going to complain about the every day Happy Hour special? EVERY DAY, AS IN WEEKENDS INCLUDED. They also have game nights and some days even food trucks. This is a very interesting dive bar, they have live music, they have pool tables, they have a dart tables, they also have some retro pinball games . Included is some great beer, I believe there's enough for anyone to choose something of their liking no matter what you like which is great. I could definitely tell there was a lot of usuals there which is to be expected for dive bars, since this was my first time I really do not know anyone except for the friends that I went with. But I could tell it looks like a big family of friends and overall a pretty Inviting place to hang out and have a few beers. There is an outside area for smokers and various TVs inside and outside, at this point what I saw on the TVs were sports which is perfect. So just to set the story straight. The Ashley S girl that said she was assaulted here hit the man in question first, closed fist, straight to the face. This was after she was completely drunk before even coming in to the bar. She knocked her purse over and there were at least 10 different pill bottles. This joint looks like crap from the outside Its on a semi-busy street in the depressing neighborhood known as Lemon Grove, surrounded by old and tired looking business. I didnt even know that they had bands play here. From the name alone I thought that it was a low key titty bar that was paying homage to Dirk Diggler from Boogie Nights. Its a bar that has cheap drinks and from what I could tell, a predominantly local clientele. I seriously doubt that this is a destination bar unless a good band is playing. I swear, Lemon Grove seems to be stuck in the 70's and they need to revamp this area, like last decade. read more

There are few bars in the WORLD where anyone could walk in and immediately feel like the "prettiest girl at the bar". Dirk's Nightclub is one of those places. But don't let your apprehension overcome you, if you accept Dirk's- Dirk will accept you. The place has more colorful characters than Jim Henson's funeral, and if someone doesn't buy you a shot during your stay the drinks are cheap enough to make you feel pretty. The patrons are friendly as they wage their personal wars with the harsh realities of life and gravity, but they don't pretend to be anything other than regular people. The live music will be old time rock'n' roll, and the dance floor will be forgiving. If this is purgatory... sign me up. read more

Came into Dirk's the other day just to hang out for a bit. My goodness, I haven't been here in years! The bartenders here are very nice. We ordered two Amber Bock beers, mine was with an orange twist. Shift change came and we ordered another beer. The bartender did not forget to add my orange twist. That was awesome! The place pretty much still looks the same. Pool table, three dart boards, the karaoke stage and the dance floor/band stage. I still liked the vibe here after all of these years. Would I come back? I managed to find myself at Dirk's and despite my initial apprehension I wound up having a great time. They had a live band covering 80's songs and cheesy 90's music (I believe Bush and Spin Doctor's made the set list), but it was a fun little vibe. We had a special treat as there was a guest singer (one of the dudes that plays in another regular Dirk's band) who thought he was pretty hot and got so drunk he kept saying "let's get naked!" Pretty divey, but they do a good job of keeping their calendar packed with live music, and a dart and/or pool league (something like that). You can tell the owner is passionate about the place. Stiff drinks. Lots of cougers. Fun bartender. A Kraft vending machine serving up hot foods like chicken, bacon ranch sandwiches, hot "wyngz", and pizza (no joke). What else could you ask for? DIRK'S DAYCLUB If you look at this place on paper, it might seem like a dive/night club type bar. It has been around for years, a local "spot". This might be true, but there is a flip side to Dirk's Niteclub. What is it like during the day? Considering the upcoming summer, you might need a watering hole in the afternoon. We strolled in on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of dry throats. The size of the bar was decent. There were about 10 people inside. The sport of the day was playing on several flat screens, but fairly quiet. We were greeted right away by a friendly bartender. A pitcher of beer was served with a smile. Our bartender was attentive and offered snacks. She was always checking on us first timers. In many places during the day, you find a bartender who does not want to be there (checking texts, etc). This was not the case. We will be back to see if the pace continues. We noticed: - Keno - A clean bar, very well stocked - Great draft choices - Pool Tables - Darts! - Lottery Scratcher Machine - Outside Smoking area in the back I mean really, in this area, does it get better? I happen to find myself at Dirk's against my better judgment. All I wanted was a soothing drink after a long day at work. The very moment I arrived at Dirk's I was accosted by none other than a prostitute who told me that she was the bar maid. Keep in mind I am not using colorful metaphors to describe my personal feelings of this young lady but she was in fact a whore in occupation. Thinking she was a bar maid I ordered from her and that is how I got hornswoggled into paying for not only one overpriced drink but two. They also are a cash only place like any classy local establishment, but at least I didn't have to wait to have the bartender run a card, I just paid the bartender before quickly ditching the lady of the night, never to return to Dirk's again. Needless to say this place was not my scene, but if you're down for sketchiness, overpriced drinks, and pushy hookers, then Dirk's is the place for you! The End. read more

Love this place! I was here a week ago and had some crazy girl clearly on drugs go after me. And I mean clearly on drugs...... before she even got to me or anywhere near, she was grabbed and held back them flopped on the ground alone with no one near her screaming and squealing...... you're gonna encounter crazy drug addicts anywhere, but seeing how well that situation was handled. Dirks is a cool place to go when the crappie ass bands aren't there but I paid too much for 2 vodkas with pineapple juice $27 I bought a pitcher of beer and a shot of fireball and a cinnamon toast crunch and that was $22 so those bartender broads be stuffing cash away or there vodka and pineapple is too damn high other than that cool place to have a drink but don't have multiples it will burn a hole in your pocket oh and it would be nice if they had food for sale read more

Dirks is a super fun local bar. The bartenders are great & the waitresses are right on!! Dirk, the owner LOVE's this place & it shows. The place is kept at a ROCKIN pace! On the weekends live local bands entertain and on Sundays & Wednesdays Dave Magown has an AWESOME Karaoke show. The few times I've been there everyone was having a great time...
