We are so lucky to have a Cheba in Rolando. The food is great, the vibe is fantastic, and the staff always provide some fun interactions. Seriously, I have never had a bad sandwich here but I always gravitate to the French dip. The way that the salty au jus hits after a night of drinking is like a miracle cure. I've been coming to Cheba Hut for years, back when they had the smaller spot just around the corner, and now at their newer, bigger location. It's been great to see them grow without losing the vibe. I always go for the Kali Mist on garlic bread, and it's never let me down. It's been my go-to since day one. Visited Cheba Hut again after a long time and noticed the PB location has closed. This location has a fun, laid back vibe that is great for hanging out with friends, plus they have an outdoor seating area which is a nice touch. They even do discounts for SDSU students and staff during s certain times/days. I ordered the White Widow and my husband got the Midwest Best. Both sandwiches were good overall, but I was a little surprised by the bacon portion. You get one slice of bacon for each four inch section, so my Nug only came with one slice.
