Most are moderate to easy single tracks through wooded areas, but there are some tricky spots, which can get sloppy after rains, but kudos to the volunteers who hacked these paths through a narrow and sometimes steep canyon. You'll get little sun, and lotsa shade, (and sorta sketchy parking), but the trails are decently maintained. Just be aware - they're not flat or paved.

The trails weave their way through the park, down to the creek, and back up to another entry dead end street. It's fairly charming with lots of native plants, wood bridges, and staircases. Looks like someone regularly makes flower art on a particular storm drain - cute. Signposts at trail intersections provide info, but there's no trail map which would be useful. Probably about 2 miles of trails total, some are steep uphill but otherwise it's fairly easy. Dogs allowed on leash. (I saw a number of owners who were not following this rule but didn't have any issues.)

**COVID REVIEW**…read more Super cute new neighborhood park in River Terrace. It has both a "big" and "little" kid play area. In the little kid area there is what my kids deemed an "obstacle" course. It was a lot of fun for them to get out and into the sunshine. When we arrived the other two families that were there were masked and observing social distancing. There is a basketball court a bit further towards the intersection for kids and in between the big and little kid areas there is a covered shelter which would be nice in the warmer days to come. The equipment is all brand new and a lot of fun. My kids are both nearly 6&8 and loved the slides and climbing. As far as COVID protocols it's not monitored so it's up to individual families. We left, as did the two other families that arrived at the same time as we did, when two very large groups who were both unmasked, arrived. Nothing you can do except leave! I would definitely try it again but maybe not "after" school hours. The parking is only street parking if you drive there and it's not plentiful.

Came out to visit my mom in Beaverton and brought my pup with me. There was so much for both of us to explore. After an hour, we went to head out, and I noticed there was a whole other section to the park we hadn't even gotten to! There is also an enclosed off-leash dog park here. We didn't go in there since my dog doesn't do well at dog parks, but it's great for others whose pups enjoy that sort of interaction. I will make this a space I come to see every time I'm out this way for a visit :)

Alway great to have a friend or family member walk with you for it gets so much easier as well as supporting one another. Summerlake is a beautiful park. Walk through the bridges as if you are walking through the forest and the trees are big and tall. Different trails to go on. What I like is checking out the different types of animals at Summerlake. Usually, you see lots of geese, ducks, squirrels, bird all around. See people fishing at the lake. There is a dog park and kid's playground. Bathrooms are well maintained and clean. Will be back again.

It was our first time in downtown Tigard. We were surprised to see the wide open plaza with lots of grass for the pups, and seating around the perimeter for humans of all abilities. The plaza has 3 food trucks with excellent customer service, trash, recycling, bathrooms and water fountains. There is a wide walking path, a nature preserve perfect for bird watching and a wooden path that takes you to a nearby trail. We had great food, met great people and enjoyed a little nature walk with our puppy. What a neat little community gem in downtown Tigard.

This park is a total gem--thoughtfully designed, beautifully shaded, and perfect for families. There are plenty of swings and a great variety of play equipment to keep kids engaged for hours. One of the things I appreciated most was the visibility--there's seating thoughtfully placed all around the park, so no matter where your child is playing, you can easily keep an eye on them. There's even a grassy area under the trees where you can lay out a blanket and relax. Even on a hot day, the metal slides stayed cool thanks to the shade, which is a rare and welcome surprise! The kids there were all friendly, and the parents seemed attentive and involved, creating a really positive, safe vibe. My kids had a blast and would've stayed much longer if I hadn't forgotten snacks--lesson learned! We'll definitely be back, this time with a picnic and more time to explore.

Cooper Mountain Nature Park is a great spot for getting outdoors and enjoying some fresh air. The…read moretrails are well-maintained, and we love that there are three different routes to choose from: Little Prairie Loop, Cooper Mountain Loop, and Larkspur Loop. We took about an hour and a half to complete a 3.5-mile hike with the kids, starting from the parking lot, exploring the Little Prairie Loop, and doing a full circle around the Cooper Mountain Loop. We avoided Blacktail Way since it takes a bit longer to get back to the parking lot, but it's great to have options for all hiking preferences. One of the best features is the trail maps along the way--super helpful and makes it hard to get lost. It's always a joy to step outside and enjoy nature here. There is a small playground kids can also enjoy next to the parking lot. Highly recommend!

The trail is listed as beginner friendly, but if you struggle with inclines or you're not very active, be prepared for a bit of a challenge. We completed the full 3 miles, and the views were absolutely worth it! I definitely struggled near the end because I'm athletically challenged. Overall, it was a great hike, and we'd definitely do it again!

Plus walking paths through several acres of rolling hills with wonderful views immersed in nature. The splash pads are open again (until 7pm) and the kids were certainly joying them. The play structures are both stunning and interactive, even a look-out tower with a telescope that views a constellation ceiling. Very cool. Slides, step rocks, climbing structures, picnic tables in the open and shade, lots of benches, even water bowls for dogs - clearly a lot of thought went into the design and build of Spring Garden Park. It's close to Multnomah Village which is how I discovered it after visiting the food truck area and wanting someplace serene to enjoy my meal. Park right on SW Spring, just be mindful of not blocking the neighbors driveways as it's in a residential area. Close to SW Barbur.

We went on a sunny day and it wasn't over crowded. -1 star for personal reasons: my daughter is young (19 mo) and was able to swing on the baby seat swing, however, she was not confident to try the older play structure. The structure seems more appropriate for 2.5 and older. It has a pretty cool rock climber for older kids. My experience makes me wonder if there are parks in Portland that are more inclusive for all children and their abilities? I hope that Portland Parks and Recreation would be willing to rethink how they can be more inclusive when designing a park. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about building a park, but If I did I would want everyone to feel included.
