It was lacking that strong garlicky, buttery flavor. It still satisfied my cravings though! The ribs were also good and were fall off the bone tender. I would pass on the Huli Huli Chicken next time because it was a bit dry. I also didn't care for the potato Mac salad. I would come back in a heartbeat. For a food truck, I'm thoroughly impressed. This is some of the best Hawaiian food I've had in Portland/Vancouver. I've tried GrindwTryz, Kiawe Island Bistro, Ohana Hawaiian Cafe, Ate oh Ate, Hula Boy Charbroil, Hawaiian Style Grill and Hawaiian Soul and the two places I would go back to are GrindwTryz and Kanaka Island Grill. If I had to pick between those two choices I'd pick Kanaka if distance wasn't a concern. Be prepared to wait a little. Service was friendly and we went with about an hour left and they were still pretty well stocked. You can also eat outdoors or inside at the nearby bar.

I was thinking, 'For that price, it better be like, steakhouse quality.' ... and it was. Oh my gosh. The guava ribs were to die for, and the portion she gave me was huge. I've never had guava glazed ribs before, so I've got nothing to compare it to, but it was amazing. The flavor was more sweet and less salty as opposed to a tomato based barbecue glaze. The guava really came through. The meat fell off the bone easily, because it was cooked perfectly. I wished I could eat it all before it got cold, but I could not. The Huli Huli chicken was great, too. The rice was perfect. The Mac was a little better than average. I just wished there was more of it, since I got exactly one scoop. The lady who helped me was cool, and obviously gave me a huge portion. Based on the price, I can't really afford to eat here more than once right now, but if I could, I'd make this a weekly thing. Probably in the top three to five of some of the best Hawaiian I've ever had.

They have 4 food trucks one of them being the 503 Hibachi food truck. My son and I tried the Hibachi Chicken with Veggies, his came with rice and I ordered mine with Yakisoba noodles. The chicken had a lot of flavor, I topped it off with sriracha for a little spice, the Yakisoba noodles where very flavorful and not greasy, the veggies were cooked well and had a lot of flavor. It is served with two side sauces, they were both very flavorful as well. We both enjoyed the food, the portions were very large, I took home about half my meal and finished it off at dinner later that night. They have outdoor seating, there are bences within a covered area. The staff was very friendly. As far as parking, the have about 6 parking spots.

The 503 sauce is a tangy ginger sauce and the seafood sauce is non spicy mayo blend. We ordered a side of yakisoba noodles and those were also satisfying. There are also communal picnic tables for this and neighboring food carts. A bit on the pricey side compared to other food carts but cheap when you compare it to a sit down hibachi place.

I had the classic Cobb salad and was amazed from the minute I opened the box. What a beautiful presentation and what an epic serving size of truly beautiful, fresh goodies and the chicken I added was perfect. The dressing was not overpowering and I was baffled at how much I ate. Always looking for new fries and these were the coolest looking fries ever! I don't know how to explain the shape. Sort of a chubby spiral. We were busy talking so the fries got cold- and they were still delicious! I'm a forever fan because that is a special class of French fries, imho. My son loooved The Cure sandwich and truffle fries - wow, so good, and we can't wait to explore more menu items. The couple behind the magic were super welcoming and friendly! - I loved that my food was ready on time and wasn't already camping out in a bag. This really was such an enjoyable and delicious lunch. I think next time we'll stay so we can take back something for later. 5 shiny gold stars!
