I got myself a cookbook and my husband got himself a few things. A nice bonus was with our receipt we recieved a deal for a buy 1 cookie at the Starbucks inside the store and you got a cookie free. My husband got a reese cookie and I got a sugar cookie. I do tend to gravitate towards independent bookstores but Barnes and Noble is a dependable chain that always seems to have what you need while also being in basically every larger city. The staff is friendly at this location and were helpful to point both my husband and I in the direction of what we wanted. I'm so happy that I got to stop in. I swear I could live at any bookstore. In the move, I lost the receipt. When you purchase the chairs, the associate removes the price tags as well. I've called store management and they either need the price tag or receipt. I visited Harris & Willow over the weekend and found MULTIPLE nice items in plus sizes. Clothes for work and clothes for weekend and more things that I wanted, but had to practice some self-control. So happy to have a realistic option to support local and get something outside of big box stores. I hope they run some sales/have coupons so I can compete price wise with other stores if similar quality. I very rarely purchase cards with stock greetings in them. Instead, if I am looking for a card for someone, I browse through her large stock of blank cards. Some piece of artwork inevitably catches my eye, and I will write something inside that ties in with that art and I will write my version of "happy birthday", or whatever. Rheba stocks boxes of cards that offer alternatives to so much that I see at other stores, namely 80% of cards marketed toward women and 20% of "manly" cards with fishing gear or guns, etc. Again, I look for ones that speak to me and that I think will express me! Lastly, Rheba always greets me sunnily when I enter. There happens to be a place near the Home Depot that A) got rid of most of its blank cards and B) is staffed by women who seem to look at me when I come in as if thinking "How did HE get in here?"
