Beautiful and fun bookstore. We always scout out bookstores and this one was worth finding. We all found something--kids to adults

The best little bookstore in USA. Wouldn't want to Kindle or Amazon in favor of this.

Review Highlights - The Bookman

We managed to pick up several books while on vacation - the staff is fun to visit with and get recommendations and it's always fun to find some great reads in the used book section.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My son is 10 and is a huge reader and he had a dentist…read moreappointment and missed the books on wheels at school and was so sad he has been looking forward to a certain book for weeks. So i took him to Barns and Noble. were in a hurry to get him back to school. I told the lady at the service desk and she was so ready to help me fast she asked him what book and she new the author the two choices of book and walked right over and picked it up she didn't even have to look it up or anything!!! Very impressive! Then we went to the check out and the guy at the counter was so wonderful with my children! They were both so polite and I am so so greatful! If they ever read this they should be very proud if them selves! Hands down best CUSTOMER service! Thank you two again so much! It seriously took under 5 minutes!!

I've always had a soft spot for Barnes & Noble. I find the whole process of browsing and selecting…read morebooks to be very relaxing. I had several books in mind when I last shopped here, but only 1 of them was in stock. The salesperson did help me track it down, though, after I couldn't find it on the shelves. I think this location might be smaller than other B&N stores that I've been to. It always baffles me that they don't offer more coupons and discounts since I can easily hop on Amazon and request the same books for much less, but I consider the knowledge that I'm always paying more to shop here just a fee for my hope that brick and mortar bookstores continue to exist.

This is a cute little bookstore with good vibes. Located on Cherry street in a lil shopping…read moredistrict, there is street parking but I'm not sure if there are any nearby parking lots. This bookstore has lots of new releases, lgbtq books, books about social justice issues, as well as a young readers section. [Out of Towner Review]…read more If a bookstore felt like a HUG, this would be it! I loved visiting this special independent bookstore in Grand Rapids. I love when you walk in you are greeted with the 100 Banned Books to peruse through. I love a business that highlights banned books, as all booksellers should be doing this year. Although I felt like the selection was limited, I wasn't upset with this store. It just took me a little longer to find a book to purchase. I loved all the knickknacks (stickers, bags, etc) they had to shop from. The kind bookseller was helpful when I asked for help. She was completely open to offering suggestions, but I felt capable of finding something else. She was extremely kind and engaging with the few patrons that were in the store. Since I this was my first time here, I was taking it all in. The kid section was really cute and the layout is easy to shop. I enjoyed the staff picks and layouts of the different sections. They are on the smaller side, so I wouldn't expect to show up and find every single top book on the market. But there are PLENTY that I found enjoyable and enough to purchase two books! Small town charm, but make it books!

A cute little bookstore that instantly took me back to my youth, with shelves packed full of books,…read moremagazines, and all sorts of unexpected finds. My first visit was today after we left the Tulip Time Festival, and with the entire downtown area absolutely bustling, stumbling across this shop felt like discovering a quiet little retreat in the middle of the chaos. I wasn't always certain about the pricing or exactly where some of the different genres and subjects were tucked away throughout the store, but honestly, that became part of the charm. There's something nostalgic about wandering through aisles, scanning shelves, and unexpectedly finding something interesting you didn't even know you were looking for. One thing I especially appreciated was the atmosphere created by the staff. The sales team was friendly and welcoming without hovering or making the experience feel uncomfortable in any way. They greeted us warmly, then simply allowed us the freedom to explore at our own pace. No one trailed behind us from aisle to aisle, no one pressured us into buying anything, and there was never that awkward feeling that you were being watched while trying to quietly enjoy the books that caught your interest. Instead, it felt relaxed and genuine -- the kind of bookstore experience where you can lose yourself for a while flipping through pages, rediscovering old interests, and taking your time deciding what deserves a closer look. It was really enjoyable to spend some time browsing and getting a feel for the stock they carry. The whole place has a warm, old-school bookstore atmosphere that's becoming harder and harder to find these days.
