MTG Single selection is very good for a local game store, the owner is super nice and personable, and the store is consistently running weekly tournaments for several MTG formats with prize structures 2-3x that of competing stores. Can't seem to find a door to get in? I know I came during the open hours but it's very confusing.

Just abysmal customer service. The other day I went in looking for a new, popular title and someone who knew grumbled "I'm all out," without making any suggestions as to alternate titles or stores, or cluing me in as to when more would arrive. Further I've spent time at the till, purchases in hand, while employees fiddle at a gaming table or stand outside vaping. As I don't remotely look like a comic reader or play table games there, I might guess they don't think they need cater to me (and this is a phenomenon I've seen at other, similarly cloistered and backwards shops). Plus it has a fair stink of b.o. and tobacco you don't get at other shops around here. I only patronize because they are close and from now on will gladly travel extra miles to avoid these guys. read more

Fiancé and I came here to get a magic deck, the owner John was rude and unhelpful. When my fiancé gave him his phone instead of writing down the list because his dominant hand is in a cast, John seemed as if we had asked the world of him. After ridiculous sighing and shaking his head at the list, he told us that he was going to charge us $0.50 for any cards $0.01-$0.49, and $1 for anything between $0.50 and a dollar. He claimed that this was something they had been doing from the beginning, but the previous times my fiancé had been in with different workers they didn't price the cards like that. We got the impression that he was charging more because he didn't want to pull a full deck. Come here if you want to feel as if you've asked something unreasonable of them for asking them to do their job. If you want a card shop that's friendly, doesn't overcharge and has employees who actually do their jobs, without being asked even, go to Redcastle games. read more

Stopped in here yesterday night to check out the store. I guess it was a game night or something. Not a single person greeted us and the entire shop reaked of human sweat. I figured I'd still walk around a bit, walked to one corner of the store and the smell was just too unbearable. We decided to leave right after that. This place excited me when I heard about it. Comics, disc golf, and games. What's not to like. The only downside is lack of inventory. Yes they have comics and disc golf discs, but not the huge variety of a store that focuses on one thing. It seems that they're most focused on Magic the Gathering cards. So if that's your thing, then this maybe the place for you. Another bonus for the disc golfer is the courses nearby. read more

Friendly guys who make you feel welcome and comfortable. Helped my family get into disc golf with some used discs that were very reasonably priced. I enjoy playing Magic the Gathering, have been playing for years. Moved to the Portland area in 2014 and have settled on Disc Heroes as my go to store to play. They have a great inventory of current cards, they have snacks, and decent sized play area. But the owners are the real factor. Ken and John both greet people as they come in, they ask if you need anything. Friday Night Magic has about 20 to 30 players, everyone who plays gets at least a pack, store credit for the top players, normally standard, but they have done drafts the release week for sets. The last two weekends they've done Sunday drafts, $9 gets you 3 packs, anyone who goes 3-0 gets 3 packs as prizes. read more
