Unfortunately for the locals, there are limited choices for groceries in town. This store does not…read moreprovide much in the way of fresh goods as they are typically wilted, dried out or rotten. The meat is not very desirable most of the time as I believe the inventory does not turn very quickly. Mostly, any meat we purchase there is hamburger and occasionally some frozen fish. Dry goods are usually over priced and, at times, found to be expired. We use this store in a pinch only (milk, bread, eggs) and never for our regular weekly haul of groceries to feed our family. There are several very friendly staff members at this store that make the trip into the dirty building slightly more bearable. Earlier this year, they upgraded their computer/cashier system, which is very nice but misguided. Perhaps they should have used the funds to upgrade the quality of the products they sell. It seems their priorities are not geared toward customer satisfaction, only toward a more effective approach toward collecting money. I would hope the current ownership will someday take a consumer-level approach to improve the store and provide the community with a valuable resource. Until then, they will predictably run themselves out of business and continue to receive a 1-star rating from me.
