I was disappointed to not find a big selection of quilting high thread count cotton for tropical prints. Tropical prints were mostly poly/cotton mix. Maybe that's what is used on the island? I'm sure it would be great for clothes making...poly would help keep the cotton from wrinkling bad. read more

This is a great find! So many island themed patterns and colors. And not the typical trashy garish flowers and surfboard junk, but more subtle and artistic representations. Staff very friendly and attentive, with great suggestions. Also, prices seem very competitive. We came here mainly because my wife wanted to build an island themed quilt, as the ones we were thinking of purchasing were just way too expensive to use on our bed. So she decided to make her own. The choices are almost too many. Also, they apparently heard a previous reviewer's pain, because they now have bathrooms customers can use. And you don't even have to ask for a key tied to a big obvious hunk of something like a lot of fabric stores I have been to, just a push door to go in and take care of business. We needed to get fabric from Hawaii, so here we go. Was it cheap? Well, no but nothing is cheap in Hawaii .....except No1 or Super No1 chinese BBQ! And I'd rather starve then visit those places. This was such a cool find. As a Minnesotan, it was so fun to explore local culture through their textiles. I love the large selection in this place! It's easy to spend an hour minimum just looking through all of the offerings. I normally miss a section and have to go back! You will find the beat variety of fabric on the island here- including a ton of florals, batik, holiday, abstract, baby motif, apparel, and a bunch of fabric for curtains, pillows etc. I always walk out with at least 10 cuts of fabric because everything is so inexpensive! read more

Very dissatisfied, was overcharged and over sold on a simple purchase. It seems like they are more concerned with getting all of your information for their benefit. This was my third visit and apparently did not learn from my mistake will never go back again. read more

The fabric selection is fair for what you will find on an island. The person that was cutting my fabric was more focused on selling me on the email loyalty club than on cutting and making sure they were writing down the correct amounts. She must have asked about 6-8 times, and each time I said I was not interested. I ended up being over charged a yard or fabric. Then when I came back in right after double checking in the car, I was questioned as if I was insulting them. Now where is the customer service? Then I said I have 15 fabrics and you charged me for 16. Clearly, I insulted her by pointing out her mistake. Instead of just apologizing for the error, she proceeded to take all the neatly folded fabrics from my hands, toss them around on the counter losing the folds, and some she even remeasured. I made suggestion like count the bolts, as they were all right there still. I made neat piles again of 1 yard cuts, 2 yard cuts, 3 yard cuts. Finally the manager came over. Just a little shocked, you want people to join your club, but at the end of the day the service is not there. I used to love coming to this store. I would look forward to my bi annual adventure in fabric land. No more as of today. I walked out. I am sorry, but potty training children should be the exception to the no public rest room rule. I had to tow a little one to another location half a block away(not far as an adult, but a universe away with a small one) so she could use a toilet. It is close by the Lihue Airport and kitty corner from Hilo Hattie. They have a large selection of fabrics, mostly Hawaiian and Asian cotton prints, but also have other types of fabrics.
