When it rains, it pours. Some Grinch decided to slash one of my truck tires just a few days before my annual Christmas road trip, and also just before the arrival of inclement weather that will make said trip a peril. In any event, I digress. Discount Tire has been my go-to place for many years for replacing and repairing my truck tires. They have always been available when I need them, have had exceptional customer service, and have great deals and warranty options. Being so close to the mass holiday exodus that happens every year at this time in Corpus, I was afraid I was not going to be taken care of properly and timely. That was not the case today! I called ahead, and their representative, Jonathan, had my back from beginning to end. He assured me they could get me in, get my tire replaced and have me on the road as I had originally planned. And they delivered on every promise made, just as they have always done for me. I came in with a low tire. Asked about two new ones. It was raining, only 4 of us inside and the bays were full. The rep and I talked about the tires, he had them and stated it would be 2 hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That's way too long but you have a flat so suck it up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I go across the street in the rain because they keep your keys, lol 2 hours I'll text when ready for you no. Came in for a leak at my tire. Got it on the hoist and they said it was an unsafe tire and couldn't replace it. Couldn't put my tire back on either. The patch in question was on the tread NOT the sidewall. The nail was on the tread NOT the sidewalk. If you Google unsafe tires in Texas it says that patches are better than plugs. If you Google their tire policy it says the same thing. They said that they couldn't even put the tire back on so I could take it somewhere else. They did put a used tire on for free, but wanted to sell me a new tire first. When they won't take your truck off the hoist you don't have much choice in your options. I am 2500 miles from my home town and will NEVER do business with Discount Tire. It had one patch on the tire they said was unsafe. Drove quite a while on a low tire. Thankfully, after an hour of stressing and hoping I did not break down in the middle of nowhereville Texas, I made it to discount tire. I arrived before opening, and there was quite a line by the time it did open. I wondered why they were so busy... Free tire repairs maybe? They patched and fixed my tire for free in about 20 minutes! They take your keys at 10, tell you it'll take a few hours for getting a flat replaced, then when you ask why your car hasn't even gone into the bay yet (40 min behind the time they said) they give a half-baked excuse. Bought four new Cooper ATP2 Tires for my 2017 Ram 1500. Worked with Erik Isaac who is one of the Assistant Managers. By far the best service I've had anywhere, much less Discount Tire. I've been a Discount Tire Customer for life, but I'll never go anywhere other than the Greenwood location as long as Erik is working there. He only had 3 tires, but was able to get me rolling even on a new spare tire for an affordable price, and I wasn't even planning on replacing the spare tire just yet. Just came back today and they had my fourth tire ready and got me in instantly, and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Best service ever! I have always liked DT, but this Oct 2022 I spent 2 hours waiting for my tires and windshield wiper blades. when I drove home 6 tire alarms were flashing. They have done an excellent job of responding to the Covid 19 crisis by having secure, sanitized space to buy your tires, and have them installed. Recently special ordering new tires over the phone I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for Sat. to have them mounted and balanced. Let's just say I was extremely hesitant that having my rims just powder coated they ultimately were going to be destroyed by the pneumatic tire removal machine. The sales advisor was courteous and understanding to my OCD behavior and assured me that they would see to it that all precautions would be used to not damage my rims. Well let's just say, NOT a single scratch, nick or ding was done to either of my four rims and was undoubtedly impressed. This Discount Tire location was extremely professional, accommodating to the long line of customers waiting (esp on a Sat), and dealt with every request, complaint and problem encountered as I sat and observed their high volume of customers in just the time I was there. Beware! I have special rims on my 2012 Toyota Camry. They were red, well at least when I took my car in they had red rims now they are silver with a touch of RED. The store manager, James Coleman, refused to take responsibility and instead opened up a case to have claims look into the incident. He made me feel like I was lying to him because he claims they have no equipment that would do that to the rims. Do the tires "automagically" come off the rims? After talking to my ex-husband, I went back to store and lo and behold I am now missing a HUBCAP. IT is my son's car and I couldn't bear to take it back home. This store is great. I mean let's face it, getting new tires always sucks. It's expensive, it's always a long wait, it usually comes after some crappy event like a wreck or a nail in your tire, or in my case waited so long to change the tires that you didn't pass inspection. I will always buy from discount tires! I was driving a small school bus with a group of students on a field trip far from home. We had a blow out on the highway the day before, and I was nervous about how another tire was looking. Carlos inspected all tires, replaced a stem on the one in question and when we asked what we owed, he said that he just wanted us safe, no charge.
