The manager (I believe his name was Jacob) seems to have no common sense... I took several hours out of my day to drive to the store and back twice only for him to tell me he couldn't mount my tires. Why? Because his computer said so. Anyone who knows about tires (or even with a little common sense) would know that a 8.9" wide tire fits perfectly on a 9" wide wheel. But he kept saying that was "stretched". Anyone with basic car knowledge would laugh if you told them your tires were stretched and that's the dimensions they were... anyway, I'm not going to type out the entire conversation we had, but I'm not sure how he managed to get a job at a tire store. read more

OK... I'm VERY upset!!! I checked in early for my appointment time, and such appt. time has long since come and gone! Still sitting here waiting for my car to be moved from the lot into the shop... NOT GOOD!! All they do is prep & mount tires... not rocket science to manage their schedule after doing it for many years!! For all your tire needs and rims go to discount tires. They also have insurance package that is very well worth it. All you pay is 20 bucks and they give you a brand new tire if it's within the warranty in one year I got four tires replaced due to nails or whatever have be probably $20 except for one because the warranty had ran out and it cost me 250 bucks but then they gave me a discount because it was my birthday and I was a loyal customer. They definitely take care of you I will recommend and always continue to go there, but due to their professionalism. read more

I bought new tires for my car earlier this year at another Discount Tire location. This location repaired one of them quickly as part of my roadside hazard protection. When I was leaving, the technician reminded me that I get free rotations and balances every 5-8 thousand miles. Thinking I had already met that threshold, I set a follow up appointment today to get my tires rotated and balanced. They took care of me quickly and did the service without any charges. I called when they opened to get ONE tire replaced. I asked could i come in now to get it changed they said yes, I came around 8:30 & called back around 9:45 to get the status of my car. I was told pick up would be around 10 am... I stressed this to them I needed to be at work at 11 am and they assured me it would be finished. Only for them to tell me AFTER i called that they got behind. I said ok and ordered ANOTHER Uber back to the shop. When i got to my car they told me to leave my keys in the car, my car was still running and on E. Highly disappointed in my experience and will never be back. read more

i got all my tires changed. I called at 12:30, they said it would be done in an hour but I had to check in in person, I got there 5-10 minutes later and then I was told an hour and a half and it would be done. then the link they gave me said i have them my car at 2:37 when it was only 1:30 which meant i wouldn't get my car until 3:30, so finally 3:30 came around and they still hadn't touched my car, it was in the same spot untouched so we went inside and said something and they told us 10-15 minutes. 20 minutes later they finally had my car done and I was 2 hours late to work as well as i got my car back with my steering wheel cover covered in dirt and oil. I wouldn't have been upset if they had at least gave me a call to tell me it was going to take longer but there was only 2 cars ahead of me and I called ahead of time. Either way they got the job done but communication would've been nice. read more

I scheduled an appointment online for the Congaree location in Greenville, SC, to replace all four tires. I arrived at the scheduled time. I asked the counter associate to take care my rims wouldn't be scuffed, because a previous visit at another Discount Tire ruined one rim and cost me over $800.00 to replace it. When my vehicle was pulled up front, I didn't notice that the technician hadn't taken the 4X8 sticker off one of the tires, nor had he put stem caps on two of the tires. And the finish on two of my rims is nicked pretty severely. When I got home, I spent 30 minutes trying to remove the sticker. I went back to the Congaree location the following day. By that time, the sticker had collected rocks and debris on my new tire. I explained that -- if the technician didn't care to properly do the steps that I could see -- I had no confidence that he'd done the things I couldn't see. The counter associate assured me they'd confirm all my tires were properly installed and balanced. He also promised to remove the sticker and adhesive. I had to leave my vehicle a second time and pick it up four hours later. Nothing had been done other than putting stem caps on all four tires. Now, the 4x4 adhesive patch has embedded rocks into my new tire. The rocks are cutting into the rubber and will prematurely age the tire. I gave Discount Tire two chances. The company used both chances to prove their quality decline is now the norm rather than the exception. Discount Tire has lost my business and earned this review. read more

I had a flat tire with a screw embedded in it. I needed a place to have the tire repaired. I went here to see if they could repair it. I spoke with one of the representatives who advised that it may not be repairable, but that one of their folks would take a look at it. They took a look and fixed it within 45 minutes. I was very pleased at their efficiency and ability to repair my flat. It works great! I see a few previous posters had negative interactions when getting a tire repaired, but my experience was excellent. When it comes time to get new tires, I will start here given my experience. read more

I usually am not one to write reviews but this feels like it needs to be said. I went to the location on congaree rd in greenville sc, and i have to say, the service was FANTASTIC. I am 21 and havent really had a whole lot of experience buying tires, i went there today, anxious and my tires completely bald to the point where wire was showing. One of the employees, Dave, greeted me and was so welcoming and kind. He was educating me and made me feel comfortable and heard. He worked with my budget and even replaced my windshield wipers. I dropped my car off at 2:10ish and by 2:40 my car was ready, with all four tires, aligned. They put the windshield wipers on when i got there and I was very happy and satisfied with the service i received! Will definitely be returning :) read more

i have been a customer of discount tire in two states and for well over 10 years. in SC I would normally have my tires replaced at the Woodruff Road location in Greenville but this morning I had a 9am appointment to have all four tires replaced at this location. This location has proven to me, based on this mornings experience, that I should ONLY put my trust in the Woodruff Road location Forevermore. Here's the recap: 1.) arrived at 8;50 for 9am appointment. 2.) was told car would be ready by 9:50 3.) text to track my cars journey to completion was never updated 4.) I saw the car being brought back at 9:30--- 40 minutes after my arrival 5.) at 9:45 all wheels were off the car and I told the front desk gentleman, Alex, there was no way they'd finish it in 5 minutes. He says maybe an extra 5 minutes. 6.) car rolls out by 10am. 7.) halfway home the tire pressure light illuminates. I call to ask how to reset it. 8.) pull into my driveway, walk around the car--- two of four air caps are missing From tires. Seriously Sloppy and slow work at this location. If you live in Greenville, the experience at woodruff road makes the Congaree Rd group look like Mo, Larry and Curly. These guys are understaffed and managed badly. The wait time is terrible. It makes no difference if you have an appointment. And I asked that my lug nuts be tightened to 85 ft lbs. the manager told me they would tighten to the manufacturers specs. I explained that my wheels and my lug bolts and nuts were Apex not BMW. He refused to listen. Luckily I caught one of the workers and they listened. read more

I recently visited Discount Tire at the Greenville, SC, location with a nail in my car tire. The tire with the nail had good tread left and the nail was near the middle. They said they should be able to fix it. They patched the tire after a two and a half hour wait. The next day the patch started leaking. I took the car back to them and instead of fixing it they simply put the spare tire and said they can't do anything to fix it anymore. Didn't even bother to explain why - basically brushing me away. I took the tire to a few other tire shops and they refused to patch it as it was already messed up with a leaky patch. Finally, I was able to get a second repair done paying almost a quarter of the price of a new tire with no guarantees. Be careful with taking tires to these guys for a so called free repair. They can easily mess things up and the "free" repair may actually end up costing you a lot more! read more

Refused to listen to me and even denied my input to my face when I tried to explain in multiple ways what I was saying. He was able to repeat back to me what I wanted, so I don't think it was a communication issue. I don't believe I was rude in any way. If anything, I probably came across as timid and uncertain. That probably did not help the situation, as women especially tend to be taken advantage of in the auto industry. The language used was extremely patronizing. The words "the tires must be mounted on your car" were said at one point. Who thinks tires automatically come attached to their car..? I eventually had to say very clearly "I understand the process," because I felt like I was being patronized. He kept asking me over and over again why I hadn't pursued my warranty claim earlier, and I told him at least three times that I hadn't purchased the car at the time the claim was initially filed, but there were also personal reasons that frankly, weren't his business. It's not Discount Tire's place to determine the outcome of a warranty claim with Michelin. That's between Michelin and me. I went in with a warranty claim with Michelin over a manufacturer defect which *Michelin had agreed with me over the phone to honor.* The man who worked with me told me over and over again that Michelin wouldn't honor my warranty claim even though I told them that I'd already spoken with them. He told me he works with Michelin all the time (again, wouldn't that be obvious? He works at Discount Tire), but I actually work for Michelin part-time, others in my family work full-time for Michelin, and I did know what I was talking about. When he finally called Michelin, Discount had given the poor guy the wrong phone number to reach Michelin (which was not his fault), resulting in him thinking they were closed. I walked out at that point. I had made an appointment on Saturday with both Discount Tire and Michelin, and Discount didn't even have the correct number to call Michelin. That much was probably a corporate problem. I've faced dominating car people before, but this was more than I've ever encountered. They were patronizing, rather rude, ignored me, denied what I had to say, I had to push to get them to call Michelin, and then finished off by having the wrong number. Maybe it was just a bad day, I don't know. Other women in my family have had Discount sell services to them that they didn't ask for and didn't understand. The auto industry as a whole is rife with this kind of behavior. I don't believe we should have to enter a place of business armed to the teeth with information and prepared to do battle. We go to auto shops because we don't know and we need help. It's not my intention to try to bring Discount Tire down, but to point out yet another example of the auto industry treating women differently. Apparently this review is causing chaos, but it's not my intention to get anyone fired. I have truthfully stated my side of what happened. What Discount chooses to do with this information is their business. read more

The waiting is nice and the were maintaining social distancing and masks,. I needed a flat repaired. They found every excuse to not do it in hope of selling me new tires. When I told them to just put the tire back on they refused and put back the spare. What a pain for a simple procedure. I took the tire home and repaired it myself. I have several cars for business and personal use, I purchased several tire from Discount tire in Charlotte on WT Harris Blvd. They were professional and I felt trustworthy. This bunch made me feel like I was being sold a time share or a used car. I would avoid this store. I will have to find a different tire dealer in Greenville.
