I'm a long time customer of Discount Tire. Since 2016 or better. I have a dozen or so vehicles between family that been serviced by this company. This is why it pains me to say that I have witnessed their down turn over the years but remained hopeful. I stopped by here at the end of May before departing for a cross country trip, they did a decent job while taking several hours to complete, I wasn't bothered by it. Upon my return from the very same cross country trip the first thing I did was make my appointment for the tires to be balanced and rotated after the 5k miles I had accumulated. If you have been here, you know by the motivation occurring in the shop, they push for speed and the number of vehicles they can get in and out. This compromises quality and in some cases, safety. I saw the new signs for alignments and free alignment check, it was offered to me as a courtesy, I opted to take part in the service. I went to lunch while my vehicle was being serviced. I received a phone call from the alignment tech as we were finishing up our lunch. He proceeded to tell me a few things about the alignment that was hard to understand. I replied to him that I was on my way back to the shop and that we could discuss his findings in person. Upon my return, I engaged with the young man. He proceeded to inform me that the front end components were in good condition but a couple of my grease boots for the tie rods and ball joints were leaking grease. Not a big deal, however, he tried to convince me that the split boots were contributing to the minimal deflections on my alignment report. I tried to restrain myself from completely shutting him down with my experience as a season 16 year mechanic in this area but promptly told the young man he needed to go to school to learn about the newly installed alignment machine and how to identify failures properly. After reviewing the report, I concluded my alignment was not in need of attention and told the young man to take my truck off of the rack. I had conversations with the store manager and stated his team needed the proper training to ensure the alignment's moving forward would be done correctly. I have reservations about returning to this location in the future unless something changes. read more

I want to say that Discount Tire gets 5 Stars but they didn't call me when the tires I ordered arrived I had to call them. Their system was down when it came time to pay and I had to leave my credit card info with them...not the store's fault. Now to the really good part... I recently purchased four new tires online through their website and set an appointment for install at this location. We live about an hour north, so this location and the Savannah locations are about the same distance. I'm glad I gave this location a try. Jacksonville is one city that has certified mood swings, as far as weather is concerned. One morning you're chocked due to the humidity, the next you're warming your car to defrost your windshield. The colder mornings are some of the most inconvenient of them all. When that TPMS light stays on, prepare to get your car looked at. *Fluff/Service I've been coming to Discount Tire for a few years now. When I purchased my first set of tires, I wasn't shafted nor was I swindled into getting the most expensive set there. During the wear of my first set, I'd never gotten them rotated or balanced. One of the managers who worked with me during the first purchase, aided me once again for the second. He remembered me and stated the tires held up very well, even without the required maintenance needed to prolong the life of the tires. I was a new car owner at the time and didn't know anything about, well, anything. The price of the tires had been raised but I was charged the price from the first purchase I'd made (doing the work of the Lord). Currently I'm more cautious and attentive to the performance of my tires. As mentioned above, whenever I see my TPMS light come on, I bring my car here. There's a designated section for you to pull up and get a free tire check. That's right, for free! I've seen where first thing in the morning, there are car loads of people waiting to be seen. What's more impressive? The professionalism exhibited to all is impeccable and admirable. I can't think of a time where anyone has left upset with the services rendered. When they're busy, there's an option to receive a text when your car is ready to be picked up. *Overall I'm not looking to purchase a brand new set of tires anytime soon but in the event that I do, I know where I'm coming.
