I LOVE DISCOUNT TIRE!! I've been a loyal customer since 2017, and I often tell friends that I wish I could do all my car maintenance at Discount Tire. Some of the best customer service, quality, and honesty that you'll find anywhere! Discount Tire's model consists of selling tires and providing free tire maintenance services along the way. They'll do free air checks, flat repair, and tire rotation, even if you buy your tires elsewhere. (Wow!) If you do buy at Discount Tire and purchase a warranty, they'll replace a flat tire for free if it can't be repaired. I'll never buy tires anywhere else! My most recent visit was to this location earlier this week, after I'd noticed one of my tires was looking kind of deflated. A rep (I think Bryan was his name) confirmed that was the case. He got me checked in and gave me an estimated hour wait time, which was accurate. There was a large staple wedged into my tire, so they were able to fix it pretty easily. What could have been quite a hassle turned out to be a painless experience, in terms of both time and money. I got a little work done at Forum Coffee across the street while they fixed my tire, but I wasn't there for long! Between this location, Rancho Penasquitos, and PB (aka the three locations I've been to in San Diego), I can't decide which is my favorite. Refused military ID and left with a scratch on my car. Today I went in to get my tire replaced and RYAN refused my military ID. RYAN, their employee who was helping us said, dependents can't use military ids for discounts. He said only active military can. But on your website it says otherwise? I also looked it up and it says Active duty, veterans, and family members. So i'm a little confused why he refused it. I also realized that there is a scratch that was not there before by my driver side rear wheel. And I'm 100% sure it was discount tire because I just got my car from the body shop and there were zero scratches on my car. I really enjoy this location! I have never had a problem. I have gotten tires here about three times, they are always very honest about the wait times and almost always finish on time or a little early. I also always stop here to get air in my tires and they're always quick and efficient. I brought my car in because I was experiencing a significant shaking in my car at highway speeds. After checking in, the guy helping went to go do an evaluation of my wheels, came back and said it's because my tires need to be replaced. Along with that, I'll need an alignment too. All that comes out to be about $2,500. They need to order the tires and am told they should be there later that same day -- I am told it'll be super quick once they get them in as I'll have an appointment set up for me. Day goes by, no call. Next day, I call later in the afternoon to see what's going on and they tell me my tires haven't arrived yet. An hour later, they call and tell me to come in. I arrive at 3:30pm and by the time I check in, they say it's going to take an hour, they close at 5 but they'll still get my car done. I tell them fine, but be extra careful with my wheels (they are black and in mint condition) and the guy acknowledges my concern. I sit in the waiting room for 45min and my car hasn't been taken back and they work on all the walk-in customers first. Finally, they bring it back and do the work quickly but it's close to 5:30 so I just get out of there and get back home. A day or so later, I went to clean the gunk off they use to slide on the tires and I notice a small little chunk and scratch on one of my rims. For as much money as I paid, I'm beyond annoyed with the result. read more

I called and discussed getting 2 rear high performance Pirelli PZERO Tires. Great price after making sure they would match and beat a quote I got elsewhere. Scheduled an appointment at that time. Went in and met Ryan at the counter. Happy guy with a great attitude and smile! He got me set up, I paid and the walked around the shopping center. In 45 minutes got a text and BAM!, car ready to pick up. UPDATE: I am updating my review based on the Outstanding Service that I was given to me after I reported an issue with different manufacturing dates on the high performance tires I purchased. This may not be a concern for most tire customers but it was for me. You really find out what a company is all about when there is an issue; How do they handle it?, Are they fast?, Good communicators?, Really concerned for your feelings? and Willing to fix the issue? YES! to all of my concerns and In a few days my car was fitted with two matching manufacturing dated tires and I couldn't be happier! THANK YOU Discount Tire! PS- A few things that might really make a difference for a customer like me, would be to clean the tire sidewalls a little better and possible using something like Armor All Protectant on them. Can't say enough good things about this store. Staff are friendly, knowable and always eager to assist. They will rotate your tires and do repairs even if you didn't purchase the tires there. My daughter brought her car there with a tire leak and they fixed it with no charge. I had my tires rotated at no charge and I didn't buy the tires there. As a result of this service, we bought new tires for my other daughter, and I will continue to buy my tires here. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan on the phone when I called to make an appointment. I've had a slow leak in my front right tire because of a nail and two weeks ago hoped that repairing the tire would work. Today I found that it needed a full replacement as the repair didn't do as well as we had hoped. As a repeat customer, purchased 4 new tires. Upon arrival to pick up my car, i was told they stripped a lugnut and my car had to be towed to another shop for repair leaving me stranded. I prefer this location when going to Discount Tire because the wait time is usually less than the Sports Arena location. I've replaced my tires here and I also come here when I have smaller issues, like a screw in my tire (which is why I'm here today). It's usually about 1-2 hr wait. It's located in a large shopping center with plenty of restaurants, there's a Target and Home Depot which is walking distance so there's plenty of things to do while waiting. We drove to San Diego from Northern California. Once we arrived in San Diego, we noticed the front left tire with a small slash to it. Air was slowing leaking. We decided it was time to replace all four tires since we drive long distances. Safety first. We arrived 10 minutes before opening. Someone else was outside already waiting. So we were second in line. Another couple arrived shortly after. Once the door opened, luckily the employees saw that we were here before the other couple to help us and the other person that was first. GREAT customer service right there!! Long time happy customer. Noticed my tire was a little flat today. After filling it with air I noticed a nail. Drove to Discount Tire and was immediately greeted by Mark outside. He did a thorough inspection on my car and told me I needed just the one tire. Said the others were still fine but the one with the nail not only was worn more than the rest but the nail was in a bad spot and couldn't be repaired. Came here a few months ago to get a tire with a nail in it patched up and to get my windshield wipers replaced. When picking up my car, the wipers looked like they were never replaced, so I asked one of the front desk workers to check my wipers and verify that they had actually been changed. They refused to come and check out the wipers. They went to the back to speak to somebody to verify that the wipers had been changed. A day later, I use my wipers and they are still streaking, since they were never changed. You guys are terrible. read more

Brought my car in for a Tire Pressure Sensor Monitor (TPMS) replacement on the left rear tire. When they finished they said that the amber light would turn off after about 10 minutes of driving. It didn't. Took it back in and they said that the sensor that they just replaced was bad (or mis-programmed, or something), and in fact all the sensors needed replacing. I said I could wait if they could do it in an hour. 1.5 hours later they hadn't started. Once they finally got started they took forever. When they finished, they again said that the light would go off after driving a while. It didn't. I took it back in. The manager personally did the relearn routine and finally all the sensors were working again. He told me, "these things can be tricky". Seriously!?
