Took some tires used tires in I bought that were 90% good tread. Called and many places would not mount and balance them. Performance said yes and it was only $70 total. Ramon was very nice. I asked if he would kindly remove the gum that is usually left in side the back of the rim by the removal of the old lead weights. He said sure. Well he did the one and the older guy started putting the other side on and I asked him politely but he said I can't do it my friend I'm to busy in a rude and stern voice. NOT COOL! Ramon = COOL! I gave him a tip and thanked him for his extra help and attention to details. I would recommend this shop for a tire repair or to have some used tires installed, just stay clear of the old curmudgeon who doesn't really want to be working or enjoy helping others. read more

On a mini vacation here in SD and got a flat. We went to Discount Tires first but they kept telling us "one more hour, one more hour... until it turned into 5+ hours. Me and my husband decided that was ridiculous to just keep pushing us off and found Performance Team Tires. They got us in and out within 20 mins!! $50 INCLUDING installation! As irritated I was with how much time i wasted waiting around, I'm happy I did because I'd rather give my money to small owned, honest working men. My dear friends at SD Bus and Auto sent me here when I had a mishap with my tires and needed to replace one. I arrived, they greeted me and directed me where to park, and went to work. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. You read that right, TEN MINUTES. What a relief. I will be back when I need to buy a whole new set of tires. I just wish they had one person on staff a little more comfortable with English, when I arrived it seemed no one really knew what I was saying... Edited to add: While i have not gone back for another purchase with this location, I have had a wonderful experience with them since posting this review and as such, would like to update my previous review. Well, the Yelp was good so I went here and got 2 tires. The price was competitive, but the balancing weights feel off one tire and they broke off my tire pressure sensors. Getting the pressure sensors fixed is more than the cost of the tires. I'm having another shop rebalance. read more

This place purposely sold me the wrong Tire, it was a used tire, they charged me $80 for a used tire, it wasn't even a good used tire, when I called AAA to come and put it on for me they told me it was the wrong Tire, I tried to take the tire back they told me they would not give me my money back because it was 4 months old, it's never been used I didn't know it was the wrong tire so how would I know to bring it back within one day if I didn't need to use the spare tire which is why I bought the tire in the first place was to have as a spare tire and when I went to have it put on my vehicle it was not the right spare tire. There was a guy there that said he would give me twenty bucks for the tire, that's a $60 loss, I don't think so, this is a bad place. read more

Four years later, my wife's friend Karen visited because she was was concerned about the tread on her tires wearing down. I must say, these guys are totally honest: they examined at her tires and said, they're still good, no need for replacements! Then they pumped the tires with air and rotated her four tires for free, the latter which is a service they offer to customers every 4,000 miles. Karen was so grateful! OK so we shopped around our entire area for pricing and courtesy and we ended up here because of both. Friendly, funny. honest, nice and great products and tires. I went in got two tires that i needed and they even fixed the back tire that had a nail in it..took all of about 15 minutes...may be in a bad location to get to but I would pay these guys my money before some tire chain that runs false ads in the penny saver that expire in a week lol. I was at Petsmart and happened to see the sign for this place. I was about to head home to start making phone calls to see who/where I could find the cheapest prices for some used/retreaded tires. We pulled into this place and were immediately greeted. I was given an option of two different tires for my SUV. The price was so great for the Bridgestone that I decided I didnt even need to shop around. I immediately pulled my car into the bay, they changed my tire out, and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. They will also give you a good deal if you pay in cash/debit (rather than a credit card) and will negotiate prices with you. I was happy about this place at first because they had the tires I needed, which was rare. Only problem was there's a small air leak that came from the side of the tire. They wouldn't fix it and was charging me $20 to fix the problem, which was to clean the rim. This should've been done before changing the tire in the first place. They weren't even a bit considerate about the problem and only cared about making their profit. Now I'm stuck with a tire I would constantly have to fill with air every couple days until the tire gets worn out. Mike the owner is extremely helpful. My front two tires had been leaking air for some time and no one had ever taken the effort to help me figure out why and get to the bottom of the problem. Mike and his team uncovered my rims were going bad- cracks on the inner rims caused air gaps between the tire and rim. He had his team weld/sand my rims to get rid of the cracks (included - no extra charge at all). He then helped me get a new tire at a great price to replace the one that had gone bad. We also discussed options for a whole new set of rims given the age/general deterioration of mine on my Lexus and he gave me different, price-competitive options to consider for when I'm ready to make that purchase. Cant say enough wonderful things about this place! My husband and I originally went to discount tire, they were so rude! Took a chance on Performance tire and thank God we did! They were so informative on what was best for our truck even if it meant we were spending less. Everyone was so kind from the front of store to the back! My daughter even left her Ariel doll there and they wrapped it and saved it for her. There are many tires and rims to choose from. If they don't have what you're looking for they can order you anything you want and it's their next day! They made sure everything fit perfect and sensors on truck were synced for new tires and rims.We have already got so many compliments on rims and tires and even more so when we tell them price! PS I dont speak spanish but I did not encounter anyone who had trouble speaking English in fact had conversation with just about everyone in shop. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I would give no stars on the rating if it would allow me to. These guys are legit con men!! These positive reviews must be from friends and family or maybe they were good at in past years because these guys working here now are definite con men!! They could probably tell as a woman and in a bind that I knew nothing about tires and convinced me to have my disabled truck towed into them so they could put 4 "Almost new" tires on my truck. So I had it towed in their believing them and they told me I had "Nothing to lose because if I didn't like the tires they would give me my money back, 100% guarantee" So I trusted them. Well the tires they put on my truck almost got me killed and when I went to some other tire shops with the tires, each shop told me they were very worn with little tread left and should not be carrying heavy loads. The shop knew that I use my truck to haul large, heavy items because I told them I needed heavy duty, LT tires but my first heavy load almost caused the tires to explode and I had to unload the load immediately. I came back within the 15 days and Efren (who told me on the phone he was the owner and would be glad to help me with the refund) then told me when I arrived, that it looked like I must have run over nails causing the tires to look like that!! THAT is because their warranty is not valid if there has been damage caused on by nails or other objects!! Are you kidding me.....they were NOT flat tires like from nails, but they were the junk they sold me!!! He was CLEARLY trying to get out of the refund in a disgusting attempt to turn this on me. Then he said "ok I will get you full refund" BUT that I needed to come back a different day for my refund because they were closing, so I did. Then when I returned after the weekend, Efren told me that I needed to wait a month until a different sales guy named John (who he called and put me on the phone with.....who ALSO claimed to be the owner) returned from out of the country so that HE could do the refund after inspecting the tires and tried to tell me that I could only exchange them!! These guys are so crooked it is scary that they are even allowed to be in business. I am in the process of filing a suit against them and one way or another it will cost them more than the money they stole from me and my wasted time! See you boys in court. read more
